Highly usable, great looking, a fantastic product that I'd definitely recommend.

I was searching for a new laptop after my old one stopped working, and found this on a deals website. I'm really happy with the purchase, it's a very good laptop at a good price. I'm a heavy laptop user, using it for general tasks, word processing, Internet browsing, design work and moderate gaming for long periods.

The laptop runs like a dream thanks to the 2.3GHz processor and 6GB RAM, and I am able to multitask easily. I can also play most video games that don't require more advanced graphics cards with ease. It does very occasionally crash loading a program, but far less than any other laptop I have owned and it recovers very quickly. It starts up and shuts down quickly. The HD screen is brilliant quality, nice and bright so I can see what's on the screen even in sunlight. The keyboard is comfortable to use, with a number pad on the right hand side - not something I use, but a nice feature nonetheless. The textured mouse touchpad is perfect, as I can't stand flat ones (they feel odd on my finger!). However, the 'pinch, rotate and swipe' functions are a little haphazard, but easy to disable.

Set-up was quick and easy on my first time use, and the pre-loaded Microsoft Office Starter Word and Excel are perfectly fine for everyday use, with no real need to buy the full suite. It also comes with a plethora of other useful software, including vital anti-virus scanners and Skype. The huge 640GB hard drive means I can store all my films, music and games on it. The volume levels are perfectly adequate unless watching from across a room, and the speakers being placed on top of the body, above the keyboard, means there's no muffling like with some laptops where they are placed underneath the body. The fan is also very good, and the laptop doesn't get too hot on the base, even when used in bed!

The battery life isn't excessive, but surpasses other laptops I've owned and is great for use at home and even on the go, as long as you have a plug if you're on a long journey. The textured black casing of the laptop creates a professional image, and it looks like a very sleek product. It's of pretty much average laptop size, but I was surprised by how lightweight it is considering the size.

The built in webcam and microphone is great for video calling or video conferencing, although the webcam is VERY average and can be too bright if used in low lighting levels, due to the light that comes on when this happens. Images are a little grainy, but compared to other webcams the image quality is fine and perfectly acceptable for general usage. The Wi-Fi reciever is great and picks up signals well.

This laptop is a great 'everyman' product, great for students and professionals alike, and at a relatively decent price too. I really enjoy using it
