This is my work kit. I use it every day and have done for the last few years. Prior to this I had a bulky he laptop, so when I got this little diddy notebook, I was very pleased. It is great to be able to put this in a big handbag or a laptop bag and then still be able to fit papers in. It isn't particularly light though and you still know you are carrying it. It's 3.8 pounds.
I love it's compact size, it is brilliant for web browsing and word processing. The only problem I have encountered is when using excel a lot to do any data entry as found my wrist really hurting and RSI that lasted for a few weeks. I now plug into a monitor and screen for any concentrated excel work.
The flip around and fold down screen is good. I have tried to use it as a notebook in meetings but it just doesn't pick up my handwriting well enough so I find I get behind and don't listen to what is being said as I am too busy faffing with the writing recognition. It is supposed to learn your handwriting, but I don't know anyone in my organisation who uses it to write on frequently which makes me think it isn't worth persevering!
I use it notebook style for web surfing and use the touch screen and this works well. The stylus is attached to the unit with a string that is good so you don't lose it it I keep getting it caught in the zip of my laptop bag which is annoying.
Screen is good quality, clear and crisp. I have no issues with this atall.
Keyboard is nice to use, I did lose the small rubber cover to the alternative pointer in the centre of the keyboard as it fell off but was very cheap to replace. I don't use this mouse pointer/tracker much and prefer to use the standard ones.
It isn't a powerhouse and it does struggle when I have a lot of windows open from different programmes. I think I may need more memory. I have 3mb. I work a lot on Citrix and it handles this well at the same time as local applications.
The processor is reasonably fast as is a 1.86-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SL9400 processor.
Battery life is good, I have used it for about 4 hours prior to a charge being required. Once it drains though it does go quick, so make sure you heed those battery warnings and plug in!
The webcam is 2 megapixel and isn't great. Conference calls are a bit blurry! The little screen light is a nice useful feature.
The other buttons are good. The other buttons are durable.
