I bought the Logitech lx710 keyboard and mouse combo to use for my laptop. This combo includes Logitech LX 710 Cordless Keyboard Logitech LX 7 Cordless Laser Mouse USB mini-receiver 4 AA alkaline batteries Software CD Quick-start guide Installation was a doddle, you can either use the included CD and guide and install it from there, or simply plug in the mini receiver (or docking station) and the keyboard and mouse should work immediately. This is a wireless keyboard and mouse and I found that it performed well even at 5 metres from the receiver. The keyboard itself is relatively good looking with black keys and fascia and a silver trim around the edge. It's quite well built and sturdy. The Keyboard The keyboard is on the larger size with the keys well spaced out and most of them are in the correct position. Importantly the keys have a good bite to them which is usually lacking in many laptop keyboards. The keyboard also features a palm rest below the space bar which adds to the size of the keyboard but is a nice touch anyway. The most notable exclusion is the lack of caps lock and num lock lights on the keyboard. This exclusion is rather bizarre, but if you install the software on the CD included then you do get an indicator onscreen if the caps lock is on. Nevertheless including a caps lock light on a keyboard of this price should be a given. The hot keys for this keyboard can be configured using the CD included and offer a good range of possibilities. The keyboard also features multimedia keys on the left and right sides. These enable you to play/pause music, change the volume, zoom in and out of photos and rotate photos. The keyboard requires 2 AA batteries to use and there is an indicator button to show how much juice is left in the batteries. The Mouse Again the mouse is on the larger size. The mouse has forward and backward buttons placed just below the scroll wheel. It's a rather clunky mouse but is surprising comfortable on prolonged use. The scroll wheel itself is probably the best I've used on any mouse. Being 1100dpi this mouse is perfectly adept for Photoshop or casual gaming. For more dedicated gamers a 2000dpi or above might be preferred. I haven't had many problems using this on my table but ideally a mouse pad should be used instead. The mouse requires 2 AA batteries which I found to have an average use of typically 3-4 months. This combo is fully compatible with the PS3 and Xbox 360. Overall this is a good addition for anyone wanting to ditch their laptop keyboard and trackpad. The exclusion of a caps lock light is disappointing but the added multimedia keys and hot key functions make up for this.
