My little girl is peppa pig mad and when we came across this book in our local £1 shop I decided to pick it up as I knew she would love it as she really loves writing and activity books so mixed with her favourite TV character I knew it would be an instant hit. This is an activity book with a difference the pages are laminated meaning that little one can use the pen provided to fill in the book and then wipe it clean and start all over again. The pen that comes with this set is a like a whiteboard pen but a lot thinner on the top of the lid it has a small patch of cloth which little one can use to wipe the book clean again and although on first inspection I thought there would be no way it would last very long as it is such a small amount it actually holds up very well and has lasted a good few months now. In the book there are only around 5 or 6 pages we were rather disappointed at first cause I thought she would become bored with it after a few uses but it has actually been received rather well and she still enjoys completing the activities as they are so flexible and she can draw something new every time. On each page is an activity for little on to do for example one page they have to draw their favourite outfit on peppa so this can change each time they draw a picture. Another page there is a section talking about what makes peppa happy and then the book asks for little one to draw what makes them smile again this seems to change each and every time my daughter uses the book. This is also great for taking out to restaurants and on car journeys as there is an activity in there that contains a checklist of things like a tree, a red car, a green bus etc so perfect for keeping them occupied on journeys and although some are really easy to spot there are a few that are a little more difficult so it is not completed too quickly and holds their attention. Although there is no actual story to the book there is captions in the book to help interest little one for example on the dressing up page little one is told that Peppa just loves dressing up as different things and what do they like to dress up as so it in interactive with them rather than a just get on with it type feel. This also means I can join in with my little girl while she plays with the book as rather than wanting to do it all by herself she needs me to read the words and I get to have fun watching her play. Now for my negatives there are 2 things which let this set down first is the pen as before I mentioned it is like a white board pen which means it is a marker pen and will not come out of my daughters dress that she accidently got it on. I have tried everything but it will not come out so it is a little poorly designed for something that is recommended from 3 years plus as I am sure most children will manage at some point to get it on their clothes or hands. Also the binding of the book is not great it is held together by staples which came away the third time my little girl used them. We stapled it back together and it has held since but again this could have been a little better made as it is designed for young children. Over all this book has been a big hit with my little girl apart from the poorly made book and the pen being difficult to get out of clothes it is fantastic to take out and about to keep little one occupied especially on long journeys. The activities can be adapted each time it is used so even though there are only a few pages it is actually really well received by my little girl. Normal retail for this book is around £3.99 but do shop around as we found it in our local pound shop. It is bright colourful and really good fun.
