      Angelina and the Princess

If you have a little daughter who loves ballet and who loves reading about ballet then this is definitely the book for you. Just to give you a little bit of background about Angelina: Angelina Ballerina is a little mouse who loves ballet. She is a favourite in our house and we have many of her books and watch the television show and like to pretend that we are ballerinas too. Angelina's full name is Angelina Jeanette Mouseling and she lives in a village of Chipping Cheddar in London, England. She is a very endearing little mouse and has a very sweet personality. Angelina likes to wear ballerina clothes too and you often see her in a pink tutu and leotard with her ballet slippers on! The famous ballerina Darcey Bussell, OBE calls her, "a magical character who fulfils every little girl's dreams." Angelina is always having little adventures and in this book Angelina's ballet school, "Miss Lilly's Ballet school has been invited to perform for the Princess of Mouseland, and Angelina hopes to be a prima ballerina. But disaster strikes and she is only given a minor role. Angelina is so disappointed that she wants to leave ballet school, but then an unexpected turn of events leads to a happy ending for all!" I love this book and all the Angelina books in the series to be honest, they are very innocent and sweet. Angelina is a lovely little girl who has such a sweet disposition and I think this book has a really lovely message to it. Angelina learns some good life lessons that stand her in good stead for becoming a lovely person and I think that's a great message I can also teach my little girl too. When Angelina doesn't get the part in the ballet that she wants her mother gives her some really good advice. Angelina's mother tells her, "things don't always go our way. You can still do your best with whatever part you are given and that will help the whole performance." Great advice I think. In the end Angelina learns that if she puts in the hard work and dedication then things will work out her way, a good life lesson to learn The book contains beautifully detailed pencil drawings that bring the whole story to life. Angelina is so delicately drawn and in so much detail, she's such a cute little mouse. We have the book is hardback version, ISBN 978-0-141-38356-9 and it costs £4.99.
