www.f1net.org.uk (a brilliant independent site) has been reviewed a few times on dooyoo already, but not comprehensively...so here goes: There are several main sections to choose from, most of which then contain subsections:- F1 News, Site of The Month, 2000 Season, F1 Links, F1 Circuits,& Features are the main sections of the website...and so it is very easy to navigate your way around. F1 News contains all of the latest news from the last Grand Prix, including revised Championship standings for both drivers and constructors. The news includes pictures of the relevant articles which can be taken and used without needing permission. One problem with the news page is that it lacks the up-to-the-minute coverage of some of the larger and more professional sites (such as itv-f1.com), but this is a problem that will soon be remedied as the domain changes to allow more regular updates. The 2000 Season section covers all of the necessary data for this year; profiles and statistics on all eleven teams and 22 drivers, a race calendar, race results, specifications and lineups. It is worth spending time in the 2000 season section, as a lot of information is kept within...most noteably the excellent driver profile pages that are a source of information not beaten at any other website. F1 Site of The Month changes regularly and is chosen by the creators of F1Net according to which site they feel is excelling themselves. For August 2000 the link is to www.planet-f1.com. F1 Links offers a broader range of links than the site of the month section, and gives well researched and up-to-date links to all of the official driver and team pages as well as a few others. This is soon to be expanded to include more independent Formula One sites. The F1 Circuits sections gives information on all of the currently used Grand Prix venues, offering maps, a walk of the circuit, specifications, and the last five winners...several of the ci r cuits offer onboard video laps that can be viewed in Real player (though not all circuits have them yet) taken from ITV's Formula One broadcasts from the 1999 season. The Features section is worth spending time on, as it offers a wide range of interesting and enjoyable topics. F1 Babes brings pictures of the glamorous Formula One girls (most of them from the Jordan camp!)...but this may take some time to load as there are a lot of large images. Grand Prix Crashes shows pictures of some of the more spectacular crashes from the 2000 season, but is soon to be expanded into previous seasons as well. Formula One Polls is a very useful and enjoyable feature that allows the fans to give their opinions on various Formula One issues...new polls are regularly added so it is worth returning to the site to keep check. Past Formula One Drivers is basically the same format as the 2000 season drivers pages, but gives information on a large number of drivers who have graced the sport between 1950-1999...it is well worth looking at. Grand Prix Results offers the results to races and the championships for recent seasons, currently stretching back to 1993 but soon to go back even further. This is an excellent resource of information. Recommended F1 Books sees F1Net working in co-operation with www.amazon.co.uk and gives a comprehensive list and review of Formula One literature that is a must read for any F1 fan. Regularly updated it is worth reading. There is also the facility of a mailing list and contacts, both of which will keep you regularly updated about progress on the www.f1net.org.uk site. F1 Net is a very very good site, and if you can wait until the Monday following the race to see updates it cannot be beaten by anyother independent site that i have seen so far. An excellent resource base containing mind-boggling amounts of information, f1net truly is a top f1-fan site.
