Tesco's ultra absorbent rolls if you use 2 sheets

This is Tesco;s own range of ultra absorbent kitchen roll. I have tended to go through periods of buying then not buying kitchen roll as I try to save money. I like some of Tesco's own brand stuff, when I find one I like I keep going back to it. These are apparently stronger than normal kitchen roll and so should represent good value. They seem to be okay regarding there strength although It is hard to tell unless you do a scientific test ! I would say they are pretty average kitchen rolls and would not pay to much extra for them. Obviously the price varies per roll and with offers, with 1, 4 and 6 in each pack I have bought 2 and 4 costing just under about £1.6 and about £3 the 6 pack is around £6 which isn't cheaper per roll as you might think it should be. I can last one roll for weeks so the whole 4 pack can probably last months, as I am very careful and will use it for areas that are already dried with a cloth so as not to waste them. It is good for soaking up condensation or cleaning the fridge as well as it doesn't fall apart. Overall I am happy to use these in the future as long as the price does not creep up, then I would swap to the value ones or go for a brand name. Maybe if you are going from a strong brand to this you might be disappointed but if you want cheap kitchen roll of fair quality then I think you will find it here.

Just as good as the branded kitchen papers

I buy a lot of household products from Tesco's own range. One of the things I buy frequently is there Ultra Absorbent Kitchen Towel. For some reason we seem to go through an awful lot of kitchen towel in our house. These packs come in small, medium or large. The smaller pack consists of two rolls, the medium one has four rolls and the largest pack available to buy is the six roll pack. I usually opt for the middle one and pay £3. It has increased in price recently and the packaging is also different to that on the Dooyoo picture. I like this kitchen towel as it really is brilliant at absorbing spills and liquids. Though it is tough and thick and very strong, it's also soft enough, I feel, to be able to use it occasionally if I ever run out of tissues. I usually grab a few sheets and stick them into my bag before I go out - just for emergencies. The paper on these rolls is white in colour with very small embossed indentations all over each and every sheet. Each sheet tears off easily as the rolls are perfectly perforated so that they don't shred. There is never a great deal of choice as far as designs and patterns are concerned, however, and for me personally this is the only complaint I have. The rolls I buy are a white background and they have pretty illustrations of red and blue plants with leaves. They are quite pretty, and not too 'in your face' and they do match most kitchen decors, I suppose. These kitchen towels do claim to be 'strong when wet' and I can vouch for the fact that they do live up to their claims. If there is ever a stain or mark on a kitchen cupboard or wall, for instance, I simply wet a couple of pieces of paper and it allows me to rub at the stain quite forcefully and it doesn't break up or shred. I feel it's a high quality kitchen towel and it's certainly tough and strong. It comes highly recommended from me.

      Not Recommended

Tesco Ultra Absorbent Kitchen Towel costs £1.59 for 2 rolls. That works out at a rather expensive 80p per roll. Obviously as it's a Tesco own branded product, it's only available at Tesco (should you seriously want to buy it). Inside the rather plain packaging you'll find two rather plain looking rolls of kitchen towel. If you've ever seen Tesco Value kitchen towel rolls, then just imagine one of those made marginally softer - and bingo, that's exactly what this stuff looks like. It's aborbent enough, but to be perfectly honest, no more so than Tesco Value kitchen roll is. So why are they charging an extra 49p for this stuff, than they are for the value stuff? Because it's got a different name on the outside packaging of course. To the untrained eye, it's like they've just taken a roll of value kitchen towel, given it a spritz of fabric softener and whacked it into a new outer packet. The only thing this kitchen towel is any better at doing than the value stuff is, is holding a piece of cake in your hand and, if you're observant enough to notice it, having a margainally softer feel in your hand. When it comes to mopping up spills, or giving the kitchen sides a quick wipe, this stuff will tear and fall to pieces just as quickly as the value stuff does. To be honest, this is a bottom shelf brand masquerading with a middle shelf price tag on. You're better off going for the much cheaper Tesco Value brand, or putting your hand in your pocket and buying a few rolls of Plenty. This is very poor value for money and I really can't recommend it at all.
