The only income I receive is pension credit, so when my boiler stopped working I couldn’t afford to buy another one. I shopped around for some boilers, but they were all too expensive, I just didn't have enough funds to buy one. When my boiler broke down, I lived without hot water and heating for a year, this was very difficult especially during winter time. After coping for a year, I desperately contacted my local Citizens Advise Bureau, who told me about the government boiler scheme and gave my Northern Gas Heating’s contact number. I can’t thank Northern Gas Heating enough; they gave me a brand new boiler. It’s a godsend! The installer was fantastic, he did a brilliant job. Will recommend!
I had a boiler installed by Northern Gas recently and I am very happy with the final result. The customer service was excellent; everything was explained properly and politely and there was no problems throughout. I just love my new boiler and I had an excellent engineer who did a wonderful job. I will without doubt be recommending northern gas to all of my friends and colleagues should they need a new boiler.
Before Northern Gas helped me, I had been living without heating and hot water for 9 years. The old boiler’s pipe work was rotten and I didn't have any savings to afford the repairs, so to keep warm I had to use paraffin heaters and a kettle to heat my water. I can’t thank Northern Gas enough for their help; they not only provided me with a new boiler, but also replaced the corroded pipework. Everyone involved in the process were great and the installer did a fantastic job on the installation, I couldn’t be happier. After 9 years of struggle, I now have easy access to heat and hot water. I would without hesitation recommend them to my family and friends.
Brilliant! The installers were fantastic; they were kind, tidy and did an excellent job in a tricky situation. I was very impressed by the depth and knowledge of the installer’s; they both took their time and patiently explained and advised me of the best course of action. From getting the survey done, receiving the quote and having the product installed the process was straightforward. I couldn't have asked for more, fantastic work from the team at Northern Gas. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family.
don't use this company I have had many problems with this company.very poor customer service if things go wrong they don't want to know.pay a little more and use some else;the problems I have had are too long to list.heating still not working right after 3 months.
My grandmother had a new boiler fitted by Northern Gas (Nov 2013). They took many short cuts with the work they carried out and left the house in not only an awful state, but left the ugly pipes & bulky fittings fully exposed, totally ruining the look of her beautiful new kitchen. Also left a hole in her ceiling!!! This was certainly not discussed or agreed to at initial visit!!! If that wasn't bad enough, they have blocked her washing machine in with these ugly pipes so if ever the washing machine needs fixing or replacing, the whole sink unit will need to be pulled out. I telephoned to complain about this following the advice of a highly skilled builder who stated the job could easily have been carried out with a much better outcome with just a little effort. Someone from Northern Gas came out to look at the problem and fobbed my grandmother off by telling her she needs to get the builder to swop her washing machine and sink unit around!!! She's already paid thousands for her new kitchen - what a cheek of them & such an awful unprofessional attitude! Northern Gas are refusing to rectify the problem stating it is against their company policy. Really wish we had gone with a more reputable & professional company now. I can't believe a workman would leave a job in such an awful state, not to mention the total unprofessionalism of the so called complaints inspector! Don't place your trust in these cowboys!!!
Northern Gas Heating have been awful from start to finish. As we had a low income, we were eligible for a grant for a free boiler installation. Boilergrants.co.uk, very conveniently (heavy sarcasm intended) selected this company for us to do our installation.
The process started around the beginning of June where the paperwork was sorted out and we were told to expect a call within 6 weeks telling us when our boiler would be installed as ours was very old and considered dangerous. 2 months later, we did not receive a call from Northern Gas Heating so we had to call and ask them about the time of our installation. We called them twice on two different days but only to be asked to expect a call back. Yet they did not call back! it was only on the third time when we rang that we were given a date for our installation.
Two engineers arrived on the day of our installation. They came in and looked around our house but then told us that they could not carry out the installation because they did not bring their equipment! And that we had to call Northern Gas Heating again to arrange another date. It took another 4 calls to get another date for the installation (again each time, apart from the last, being told to expect a call back that never came!).
On the second date of the installation (we are in the month of September now) two different engineers came and actually carried out the installation in one day yet we were still not incredibly satisfied as the pressure of the water flow coming out of our taps and in particular, our shower head was radically increased. A slight turn of the taps could result in the feeling of being in a storm! And getting the balance between hot and cold is only just about manageable. But then about 4 days later, we were even more dissatisfied when our hot water stopped working. We had to get the opinion of another engineer (not related to Northern Gas Heating) who told us that the engineers did not install our boiler properly and that they used the wrong pump for our boiler. He was able to restart the hot water for us but said this was only temporary and that the problem still needs to be fixed.
So we called Northern Gas Heating another four times and getting increasingly agitated but yet again we were told the exact same thing - to expect a call back.
We are now towards the end of October and yet they still haven't called back! Luckily, we did not spend a penny on them. We may have to find a much more reliable company to sort out our problems as Northern Gas Heating do not care at all about their customers and would rather be interested in making money from the calls they receive.
I had my old boiler replaced and upgrade of old 15 mm gas pipe, I so regret using this company they rushed the job the quality of the soldering of the pipe work is terrible I have done better job as a DIY'er clumps of unsightly solder drip marks from the joints this is so simple to avoid. They didn't bother to cover my furniture with dust sheets when cutting into the floorboards so I spent weeks later trying to get rid of the dust also I have exposed floorboards which were then screwed back down with galvanised nails put in without pilot holes so later these boards split needing to be replaced , I could go on for ages.... Please save yourself the stress ignore there slick sales pitch evidently the sales rep lived no where near me I understand the reasons why now!
We had several quotes for our new boiler.Northern Gas was not the cheapest or the most expensive.We decided on Northern Gas because we needed a company who we could trust and that were not to expensive.From start to finish they were brilliant. We had our quote ,our survey and new boiler fitted all within the week.The sales person went into everything for us.The surveyor explained everything and the instalation team were just great.They were very approachable and never stopped all day.Two great guys.We love our new boiler to bits and cannot belive the difference it has made to our heating and hot water.Would I use Northern Gas again ? Yes I would not think twice

I would like to express my sincere satisfaction with the gentlemen, and they were gentlemen, who came out to update my existing boiler. I cannot praise them enough for their courteous behaviour, and the clean and efficient way they worked, always stopping to advise me of any challenges they had come across, and there were several, and that they listened to my requirements and took all this onboard whilst carryingout this task. These engineers had to travel a long distance to get to me, they kept in touch on their estimated time of arrival at all times. Well done Northern Gas you have excelled in the service you have provided on this occasion.
After much research we chose NorthernGas heating to instal our gas central heating. As a project manager trust me no stone or company were left unturned.
The customer service we received was second to none and their people are trully great assets. At every step in the process we were well informed and felt confident that no one was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Unlike many of the competitors we approached. One very large UK gas company only provided a scibbled quote on a scap of paper and said we would only receive a detailed quote if we cose to go with them. Another company tried to sell us too many radiators and even suggested we needed an extra one for the dogs bed!! Whereas another company said no home visit was required to give us a quote.
The contract was in plain english with no jargon and any questions we asked were promptly answered to our satisfaction.
If I had to describe Northerngas Heating in words; it would be Honest/Reliable/Trustworthy/ Competative and Value for Money.

I Recently got a quote from Northern gas,i got a home visit which the rep was surprisingly excellent in all fields of the installation and talked me threw the whole process in an understandable language.He was very polite and believe me i am not the person who can be easily swayed from salesmen but i had to hand it to northern gas excellent.out of all the other companies i got to give me a quote northern gas took first place.
Northern Gas Heating did a fantastic job fitting our new boiler.
The quote came in some £1000 cheaper than British Gas and they offer the same guarantee and cover on their workmanship and appliances.
Our house is an old cottage built in 1905 and we had an old back boiler stuck in a chimney downstairs, it had one of those nasty 80's style gas fires attached to it that we could never replace as it was part of the boiler, so it was destined to be replaced.
The lads came in on day one and laid down sheets everywhere so they didn't mess up the carpet, then removed the old boiler as well as any old pipe work and tanks that would become redundant as a result of the new system, they made sure to re-connect the mains water so we had running water (very thoughtful).
Day two they fitted all the new pipe work including the new gas mains, hung the new boiler on the wall and got it half set-up.
Day three they completed the set up and fitted the flue that would poke out of the slate roof, we had the boiler mounted on an internal wall so they had to flue through the roof. They also fitted thermostats to all our radiators, simple things but well worth it.
At the end they fully tested the system and showed me how to work the wireless thermostat, making sure I was 100% confident before they left.
The team of lads were from the Birmingham area and were a great bunch, Shafiq is a very skilled plumber, you would be lucky if you got him put it that way. The workmanship is 2nd to none and we have had no problems now 3 months down the line.
Overall the experiance was without drama, you have to remember that having a new boiler fitted is a messy and huge undertaking, so expect the unexpected and dont panic just go with the flow. You will be in safe hands with these people they looked after us a treat.

I had call recently to look up Northern Gas who had previously fitted my boiler. When searching the Internet I was amazed find such a torrent of criticism listed here. When I had my boiler fitted about 2 years ago the experience was truly excellent, from initial sales contact to the final installation. The installation engineers did encounter some problems because of the age of my properly, but were more than able to find professional solutions which didn't cost me any extra, despite adding about an extra half day to the job. The boiler has worked great ever since and has brought the cost of my bills down fairly dramatically. I'd have no problems using these guys again and look them up every year to carry out servicing etc. It's easy to criticise but takes more effort to pay a compliment. I'd recommend Northern Gas to anyone, as my experience was really very good, not to mention the cost which was massively below British Gas.
