Well I have to say I really haven't ever been an Avon fan, recently a friend of mine started up Avon and gave a book to look through. Not really wanting anything I just picked something cheap. Avon Naturals - Raspberry & Hibiscus Fragrance Spritz: 'Fresh and fruity scents for home and body' - www.avonshop.co.uk My Findings: I do like my room sprays, scented items etc I spotted this on offer so I decided to give a couple of them a go. They are only small 100ml bottles so looking at them I knew they wasn't going to last very long at this house. First off I sprayed the curtains and the cushion covers, straight away the room filled with a lovely sweet raspberry fragrance. It does state that it is actually raspberry and hibiscus but I personally could only smell raspberry. The scent is slightly artificial however it is still a very nice sweet aroma and at first I was rather impressed. It seemed to fill the whole room and I just adore anything fruity scented, to start with when first spraying the scent it a tad strong but within seconds it mellows out. Now, for me, if I have gone around the house spraying the fabrics I want the scent to have some good staying power and yet again another Avon product makes a fail. By the time I walked from the living room to make and coffee and return the fragrance was just noticeable so that was about 15 minutes. By 30 minutes you can not smell this product at all! Which I think is really poor, like with Febreze I can give the house a spray go out do a little shopping come back and still smell it. I am really glad I didn't pay full price for this product. It didn't damage any of the fabrics I sprayed this over, it does say you can spray this as a body spray too but I certainly gave that a miss! Product comes in a plastic see-through bottle it is a clear liquid and the packaging has a few raspberries as the picture very dull looking. Can be recycled once empty! Price and Availability: As this is an Avon's own product you can only purchase online or via one of their representatives. I paid 99p for 100ml as it was on offer but normal price is £4.00!! You can get double that amount and cheaper getting Febreze that will work a million times better!! Overall: Really bad longevity and a product I will never purchase again and I certainly do not recommend full stop. It does smell nice but the point is you want it to last around the home and this certainly does lack big time. One out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading.
I work part time as an Avon Representative when my poor health allows, and this means that I have great access to the assorted ranges available from the Avon Company. One range that I really quite like is the "Avon Naturals Range" which has a selection of freshly-fragranced shower gels and room sprays amongst their range of body lotions and other products. I do quite like the Room & Linen sprays within the range and have tried out several of them in the past. The most recent spray product that I have been using is the "Avon Naturals Raspberry & Hibiscus Room & Linen Spray" and this review outlines my experiences of using the product. The range of Room & Linen Sprays currently contains perhaps six or so assorted fragrances to choose from, most of which have some sort of fruit-based scent contained within. I admit I find this range to be very appealing, as such scents are among my favourites. The Naturals Room & Linen Sprays are usually priced around the £4 mark, which I think is reasonable value but not the best, especially considering the rather neat size of the 125ml bottles. With this in mind, I'd definitely recommend waiting to purchase the sprays as part of one of the promotional offers that are often running in the Avon brochures, or online at their website at www.avonshop.co.uk. Indeed, I managed to obtain two sprays from the range for around £3.50 recently, so quite a considerable saving can be made from Avon's assortment of offers and deals. The Avon sprays are rather 'dual purpose' in their design, as they are suitable for use to freshen up either a room or items of linen. I personally seldom use them to freshen up linen as I don't really feel the need, except perhaps when on holiday if I happen to have one of the sprays with me. In terms of using the spray in the room however, I find the Avon Naturals Room & Linen sprays offer something a little different to other scented sprays that I have used before. Importantly for me, I find the scents and aromas of the sprays are usually MUCH nicer than shop-bought air fresheners that can feel quite 'false' and often carry a sort of 'chemical' scent in their tone. The Avon sprays in comparison, feel much 'lighter' when used, and more 'natural' almost, which is why I much prefer using them. The Raspberry spray was one that I was looking forward to trying out, particularly as I adore fruity, berry-type scents and anything fruit-based is sure to be a hit with me. In terms of the product's packaging, I have to confess that there is nothing particularly eye-catching, or even remotely appealing, about this aspect of the spray. Comprising of a clear plastic bottle that has a very slim, thin look to it, there is a pump dispenser on top, to allow you to spray the product easily. I have found no issues with using the spray dispenser itself, or with removing the little plastic 'cap' on the bottle, even though I have limited mobility and issues with the strength in my hands. There is nothing cumbersome or fiddly about using this product at all. There is an attractive label on the front of the bottle that does go some way to adding a little splash of colour to the otherwise plain-looking bottle, thanks to the bright red/pink Raspberries shown here. A smaller image of a flower is located at the bottom of the label which is presumably the Hibiscus. The way that these images have been presented gave the impression that the main scent in the spray would be the fruity raspberry, with a mere accent of hibiscus contained within. This impression turned out to be exactly spot on, and to my delight the Raspberry scent is most definitely the strongest fragrance in the spray's aroma. To be honest, I have really only found the hibiscus scent to be evident once the product is sprayed initially, where it hangs delicately in the air alongside the sweet, juicy scent of raspberry. The hibiscus scent is quite delicate, without it ever feeling heady or over-powering. After a short while, I find I am able to detect this element of the overall fragrance less and less, until it finally disperses completely, leaving only the fruity raspberry scent behind. This aspect of the product is very pleasant too, and I do confess to preferring it to the 'mixed' scent of the hibiscus and raspberry combined. Whilst the raspberry scent is quite sweet, I don't find it becomes sickly in its essence, although I will admit it teeters rather close to doing so. I do find that many 'berry' fragrances can become quite sweet so this is perhaps to be expected from such scents. I find the rich fruity scent feels rather uplifting too, which has made it a pleasant scent to experience around my home during the cold, dark winter days we have been experiencing lately. I find too that the scent is without that horrible 'synthetic' feel to it that so many fruit-scented products contain these days. I find this to be horribly off-putting, so I was glad to discover that no such annoyance was evident from the Avon Naturals spray. I would assume that the result would be the same if the product were to be sprayed onto linen, but I cannot clarify this as I have not tried this for myself. What I CAN confirm however, is that any time I have used the Avon Room & Linen sprays on linen or laundry, they have caused nothing in the way of staining or discolouration, which would obviously render the product rather useless. I tend to use the spray all around my home, except my bedroom and kitchen. When used in the bathroom, I find it does a reasonable job at helping to 'mask' any unpleasant smells that may be lurking around after my cat's litter tray has been cleaned out...! Without going into too much detail, she is a very old girl and it is fair to say that both her bowel and her bladder have seen better days, as have the smells that escape from within. *ahem*. I find that the room spray works fairly well at helping to move such smells along...... and out the open window. There has really only been one negative point I have found, when considering the performance overall of the Raspberry Room & Linen Spray, and that is that the lovely scent does not last long enough for my liking. After half an hour or so of spraying, I can barely detect the rich and fruity scent, which is obviously quite disappointing. I have found that alternative sprays from the same range have fared a little better in terms of their scents' longevity, so I do find the results from this version to be rather disappointing by comparison. In saying that, however, I did really like the 'berry' fragrance to be found within this room spray and I know for a fact I will repurchase it again in the future. For these reasons, it feels somewhat unfair to remove any stars from the product rating score, as I feel quite positive about the product on the whole. I'd recommend giving this room spray a try out, particularly if you are a fan of fruit or 'berry' type fragrances, just be prepared for the scent disappearing quite quickly!
I have had a few of these room sprays from avon now. I like them but I find that they really are just a bit of a freshener for a room rather than a decent air freshener but this is fine for when you just want to spruce up a room a bit. Full priced I think the room spray is something like £4 but you can almost always find them on offer and one offer I took advantage of a while ago was a 4 for £5 offer which is clearly a big saving! This raspberry and hibiscus offering is a new fragrance offered from Avon. It was first released about 2 or 3 months ago and I got it as part of an introductory offer where it cost me something like £2. The bottle is exactly the same as shown above. It is a clear bottle showing the clear product inside. There are pictures of raspberries on the front and there is a pump to dispense the spray with. The bottle size is 125ml. To use the spray you simply remove the clear cap and then press the pump to dispense the spray. It can be used as a room or a linen spray and I have used it as both of these. Avon recommend spraying it 2 to 3 times away from faces towards the centre of the room. I am a bit of a scent freak so I like to be able to really smell a scent I am using so I tend to double (or triple) this recommendation. If spraying on linen I spray from about a foot away. I like the scent of this and out of the sprays in the range that I have I think this probably is my favourite. It does smell very fruity and you can definitely detect the raspberry. The fragrance isnt overpowering and to be honest, an hour after spraying you cannot detect it in the air. It does seem to linger a little longer on linen so I do tend to use this more often on my sofas and cushions just to spruce them up a little. I like the fact you can see the spray through the bottle and the clear colour is reassuring when you are using it on linen because you dont want it to mark anything. The bottle lasts a long time and I usually use my spray just once or twice a week. I've probably used around a tenth of the bottle and used it 4 or 5 times in total because I do use it alongside other sprays. I like this spray. I like the fragrance and I would buy it again. It has a fruity fragrance which is nice but for my personal tastes its not quite strong enough and doesnt have the staying power that other brands such as febreeze do. However, I would buy it again and if it can be found for around £2 then it is definitely worth a try.
I have had a love/hate relationship with Avon's Room & Linen sprays in the past, though still, for some unknown reason even to myself, I continue to buy them especially when a new fragrance becomes available. As I may have mentioned in previous reviews my best friend is now an Avon Rep so I get to see the brochures (and more often than not, order from) on a regular basis. This is the newest addition to the Room and Linen sprays from Avon's Naturals collection, and I was intrigued to see if it would be as good as my last purchase - peach and red rose - which I was very impressed with.. The spray comes housed in the same upward standing, plastic transparent bottle as do all of the room & linen sprays from the collection. There is a simple plastic, push down nozzle placed directly on top and covering this is a basic lid, which is again plastic and of the transparent variety. The size this comes in is a 125ml bottle, which seems to be the standard size. Around the bottle is a picture of some raspberries and the Avon logo - nothing too overly exciting on the appearance front if I'm being honest (which I am). To use the spray is very easy and you simply remove the lid and press the nozzle down which releases a fine watery mist. My experience and opinion~ Having tried all of the different fragrances in the past I have found some to be more impressive than others. The red rose and peach is a definite favourite of mine as the scent lingers delicately in the room without being overpowering, so I was a little hesitant as to whether this would be as good. On pressing the nozzle I found a flaw straight away in the form of the liquid leaking onto my hands. This was not a good start! On removing the nozzle from the bottle and rinsing with water I replaced it and proceeded to spray again. This time the liquid came out in a fine mist as it's supposed to do and started fragrancing the room nicely. I spritzed this a few times in each room and found that by the time I'd gone to the room I started in the scent had faded quite dramatically. The raspberry scent itself is deliciously fruity and has just the right balance between being sweet and a little bit tart. I'd wondered on ordering this as I don't like scents around the house that are overly sweet but this is lovely. Having spritzed this onto my bed covers I was relieved the scent seemed to linger for a longer period, and though it didn't stain my linen I would recommended you test before hand in an inconspicuous place before spraying all over. My thoughts~ I really like the idea of these Room & Linen sprays from Avon, but it seems it's hit and miss as to the degree they perform. This has a lovely summery fragrance that leaves your room smelling pleasant, but unfortunately it's for a very short period of time so seems pointless in actually using it at all. It does seem to work better as a linen spray though so I don't feel totally ripped off by buying this. That's the positives ( if that's what you can call them ) so what about the negatives? Though I paid the introductory offer of just 99p for this bottle I don't feel that's too bad, however the regular price in the brochures is £3.75. There is no way I could justify paying that price for a product that is only *okay* and I think Avon need to put the regular price back on a permanent basis. The packaging is also a little on the cheap looking side, and again for the price it normally retails at it should have the packaging to go with it. Tried it but not sure I will buy this one again..
This is part of the Naturals range from Avon. It's available in a 125ml clear plastic bottle. The packaging is simple and easily allows you to see how much you're using. It has an attractive image of the natural ingredients and looks prettier than most home cleaning type products. This is a home fragrance product and should be used as an air freshener or linen spray, not as a body spray! Currently available at the price of £1.90, RRP is £3.75. Recommended directions for use: spray 2 to 3 times towards the centre of the room away from your face and body. You really only need to use a little of this spray as it can become quite thick in the air and a little goes a long way. The scent lasts for a good few hours afterwards and is particularly nice to use on your bed sheets before sinking into bed for the night. With the recent hot weather my house has been getting quite stuffy as I'm unable to air it out whilst I'm at work. A few spritzes of this and a blast of fresh air from opening the windows really helps to refresh the room and has it smelling nice in no time. The spray has a strong natural smell of fresh raspberries. This really does smell just like the real thing, sweet and fruity with a hint of sharpness, it's almost enough to make my mouth start watering! It can be sprayed directly into the air to improve the fragrance of the room, or sprayed on soft furnishing to get rid of any stale smells. The liquid spray disappears quickly and does not leave wet or oily patches on my fabrics. This is long lasting and good value for money, I really like Avon's room sprays and the ones I've had before last for months even with uses several times a week. The plastic packaging can be recycled after use. Avon also have several other items in this scent, these are bath & body products and include: shower gel, body yoghurt, and body lotion.
I like the scent of Raspberry and when this range came out a couple of months ago in Avon then I bought the Shower Gel and the Room Spray. I wondered if the Room Spray would be a little bit sweet. I had a Raspberry Spray from another brand of Room Sprays, I think was Haze, and although it was lovely and it could have been me just spraying too much of it, but it seemed a bit overpowering. I know the Avon Sprays are nicely scented but more in a subtle Natural scent. I would never pay the full price for this. Not sure why it is priced at £3.50 for the 125ml bottle. Yes, it lasts a long time, but just seems a bit expensive. Considering that Avon tends to sell a lot of their items on offers every other book then I will always wait to get some kind of deal. I paid £1.60 for it I think. Not sure how they came to that price, but have also seen it for £1.75 and most recently 99p, which is more my price. The bottle is quite simple looking. A plastic bottle with a pump action spray. It has a little lid which sits alright on the top. The bottle is see through and has a sticky clear label around the bottle. There is a nice enough picture of a Ripe Raspberry on the bottle. A lot of the scents from this range have 2 scents in it, so I wondered how just the 1 scent would smell. When sprayed the spray is a nice fine mist which gives a good coverage. Since you can spray this on linen it doesn't stain and just gently scents. I liked this scent and will buy this and the Shower Gel again. It smells light and fresh and just smells like Ripe raspberries. Sometimes I think scents can smell a bit fake, but this smells like the real deal. A little goes a long way and this keeps where I spray it gently scented for quite a while. Not my absolute favourite in the range, but high up there.
