“ Brand: Avon / Type: Room & Linen Spray / Category: Home Fragrance „
I ordered this spray from Avon when it was new, and had just come out in the brochures. There was a scented page that you could rub your wrist on to see if you liked the fragrance or not. I quite liked it so decided since I had bought the same spray but in Lavender and Chamomile flavour and really liked it, that I would give this one a go, too. It was on offer at the time I bought it and only cost me 99p. As these sprays normally cost £3.50 I thought this was a great bargain and was happy with the deal. There is 125ml in the bottle and it lasts quite a few weeks so I think that this is definitely good value for money. I found with this spray, similar to the Lavender and Chamomile flavoured one, that it works better for freshening up a room than for covering up bad odours. So if you're looking for something to keep in the bathroom that will neutralise bad smells right away then this isn't what you're looking for. But if you are looking for something that would freshen up any room, like your lounge, kitchen, dining room or bedroom, or even your bathroom in the day, then this is what you need to buy. It smells gorgeous and sweet and people always seem to notice that the room smells good after you have sprayed this. Overall I would recommend this, but as I say only if you just want it to freshen up a room in your house. It does cover up bad bathroom smells, just not as well as bigger sprays that are designed more specifically to do that job. I love this though and will be buying it again next time I see it on such a great offer. Oh, and this won't stain linen either and can also be used to freshen up clothes although I usually just use it in rooms.
Avon Naturals Almond and Milk Room and Linen Spray is a regular product in Avon brochures. As explained in other reviews I suffer from skin problems and some room sprays aggrevate my skin and I also suffer from asthma so room sprays are not too good. I saw this product in my friends house and thought it looked less 'toxic' than other room sprays! So I tried it.... PRICE The brochure says that the price is £3.75 RRP for 125ml. However, I've now bought this for about a year and I have never paid more than £2 a bottle. This product is pretty much always on offer and the most recent price I've paid is £1.75. PACKAGING This comes in a thin clear bottle which has a corresponding picture on them. The spray on the top doesn't get blocked like other products from Avon though the top doesn't stay on easily. SCENTS This comes in Strawberry and Guava, Lavander and Chamomile, Black Cherry and Nutmeg and Almond and Milk. All are lovely. This is a review for Almond and Milk though and I think it is a lovely smell. The smell doesn't feel too overpowering and smells quite sweet. All are fairly similar. The spray doesn't have the dry smell some other sprays have. The spray is good for a quick blast though it isn't likely to shift the strongest smells. If you're a smoker or have a particularly smelly dog you might not feel the benefit. I feel that it was good to freshen up a room and provides a nice freshness to a room which wouldn't get used much. I have this product in my desk drawer and in my car as they are suitable for both. Overall I like this product and I wouldn't say it is a hard duty air freshener but mainly a nice spritz to freshen a room not remove strong oders. Anyone expecting a Febrezze style spray will be disappointed but for someone to expect a nice fresher smell would not be disappointed.
I often buy the Avon Room and Linen Spray. I like to have a nice scent in the house, and these aren't so pungent and choking as an aerosol. This is from the Avon Naturals range, which reminds me of the Body Shop in a way, but without the expensive price tag. Then again this 125ml bottle has a retails price of £3.50. I would never buy a product like this at this price, and although it does last a while, since Avon is good with their offers then I don't have to think about paying that price. Often on offer for half price, and sometimes on offer for 99p. This is when I stock up. This scent hasn't been out that long in Avon. I liked the idea of the scent, but it wasn't high on my list. The bottle is a clear plastic bottle. It is a pump action spray and you can see the squirty bit all the wau down the bottle. The lid is small and perched on the top and this has a stuck on wrap around label. There is a nice enough picture of some Almonds looking all rugged and brown, and there is a splash of Milk on the label as well. You only need a few squirts of this in a room to give a good scent. I have never used this on linen but a friend of mine uses this as Water in her iron, and she says it works just as well as the fragrance bottles you get. I spray this in my bedroom and over the Duvet and never any marks or stains from this. A few squirts gives a nice pleasant level of scent to a room. obviously if you want more, then spray more, but the few squirts seem to linger in the room for a good while, and you can get a gentle sniff of this a good while later. This scent is alright, but I don't think I would rush to buy this again. It smells slightly Nutty and there is a slight earthy scent in this. It isn't unpleasant, but I prefer something a bit more fruity. The Milk gives a bit of a sweeter scent, but again not all that nice. I'm glad I tried it, but will stick to some of the other scents out there as they are so much nicer.
I saw this in an avon book on sale for £1.75 for a 125ml spray bottle. It is a clear liquid which promises not to stain fabrics so i thought "why not" and thought it might be a nice febreeze type product to use in my room to compliment my fragranced candles. Upon first spritz i definately enjoyed the smell. It is quite a rounded smell, probably less nutty and more like a cheap cocoa butter smell with a hint of marzipan (which is the almond) nevertheless I was excited to spray my bedlinen and curtains with it, so i did and then went downstairs while i left it to dry. When i went to go to bed that evening i was disappointed I could not smell anything at all walking into my bedroom and when i got into bed and smelt my linens there was nothing. I have to say that i felt like i totally wasted my money, it does not have any staying power and I really would not recommend this product at all.
I'm a sucker for buying things from Avon and have tried just about most of their products. One thing that even confuses myself is why I keep buying the Room and Linen sprays from the Naturals collection. Why I say this is because every time they bring a new fragrance out I automatically buy it (Shopaholic? Me? What gave you that idea??) because I've always found them a little disappointing I'm always hoping the new fragrance will be an improvement on it's predecessors. Yes I know it doesn't make sense but that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! What are they?~ Well the clue is in the title really - Avon have a Naturals range including shower gels, body lotions and these Room and Linen sprays. They come housed in a clear plastic bottle and have a picture of the *natural* product on the front - in this case it's lots of almonds but no milk strangely.. The bottle is quite a basic straight up and down design and has a plastic nozzle and plastic lid - all very non glamorous really which for the price you would expect more. Because the bottle is see through the spray is clearly visible, and to be honest looks just like water as it's clear and has the same consistency. So what is the price?~ This is where I would feel utterly ripped off. The normal price is £3.75 which it really is not worth that at all. I bought this particular fragrance on a recent 99p offer which I think it's only just worth. Does it work?~ Well yes and no. On removing the lid and spraying into the air I found as with most of the other Room and Linen sprays from Avon it doesn't hang in the air long enough to fragrance a room properly. I live in a small cottage and went in each room giving a few spritzes as I went. On returning to my bedroom where I had started I found the scent had almost disintegrated and there was only a faint hint of it left. This was disappointing (although to be honest, not unexpected!) as it has a lovely smell. On using on my bed covers I gave a few sprays and found it did linger longer (what a mouthful!) and on spraying early in the evening the scent was still obvious several hours later when getting into bed. What does it smell like?~ Why it has milk in the title I'm really not sure as it has a lovely sweet, nutty almondy scent without any milkiness at all. That's not to say it isn't pleasant because it is and that's the disappointing thing about it. If it held the scent for longer as a room freshener it would be a lot more useful as a product but it's best suited as a linen spray. *Leaky bottle alert* I just have to point out that a few of the room and linen sprays I've had have at some point leaked a little, especially around the nozzle so do be careful where you store it. Would I recommend this?~ As a room spray - no. There are far better air fresheners on the market at a lot less cost as well. As a linen spray - it does leave a nice almond (but no milk) scent on your linen but only buy this on offer as it's definitely not worth the full price.
Avon Naturals Almond and Milk Room and Linen spray Considering my mum is always moaning about how other people houses smell gorgeous and our house only smells normal, I decided to get her a bottle of this as part of her Christmas present. She had sprayed it all round the house before I came home tonight and I walked in and the smell was absolutely gorgeous I had to actually stop and have a good sniff, so I think it was a good investment! This is basically almond and milk spray that you can use for linen or just to freshen the house up a bit. It is good if you have guests coming because the house smells great instantly! This is packaged in a 125ml clear plastic bottle with a spray pump which is very easy to use. On the front of the bottle there is an image of almonds which makes it look attractive and there is some text in brown writing explaining what it is. On the back of the bottle there is some useful information! When you spray a few squirts of this around your room, this smells quite strong at first, the almond smell is a lot more dominant in this. It is quite sweet as well but do not be put off because after a few seconds this will smell so luscious like yummy almonds and sweets! It is very hard to explain but it smells very fresh and goo enough to eat. I got a body lotion and a shower gel from this range along with the spray and it cam to four pounds. I thought this was brilliant so I may have to buy some for myself! The only bad thing is that I wish the liquid had a colour to it as it is clear which is strange. One decent way to make your home smell gorgeous! RECOMMENDED Holly x
The one thing I buy alot of is air fresheners. I'm all for opening windows and getting natural freshness into my home but I tend to live in my bedroom and from time to it can get smelly a bit...well not so fresh really. I do tend to have the odd fag out of window and sip drinks and have snacks and things in my room and when I leave it I like to simply spray something nice into make it feel fresh for when I return! When my Avon book turns up I never know what to order cos I'm not really a fan of the goods to be honest. However I do like my rep, Anita who turns up looking hopeful for an order come rain or shine so I feel obligated to buy a little something! The Packaging: Well this linen and room freshener is 125ml in size, clear plastic, cylinder shaped with a matching push button sprayer to the top (it isn't aerosol) of it. On the front there is a small photograph of almonds on there and I'm told it's Avon 'Naturals' Home Refreshing Almond & Milk Room & Linen Spray and the size is stated. On the back of the bottle I'm simply told it is formulated with almond & milk extracts, directions for use are given, ingredients are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed and finally contact details for Avon are given. Simple enough bottle and simple enough to use! Using It: Well the directions for use given on the bottle are to spray it 2-3 times into the centre of a room. Of course this is a linen spray as well and no directions for that are given, however I used it as this simply spraying it at arms length and not saturating things but using some common sense when it caME to using liquid on fabric (and never did I touch anything silk or anything like that with it!) As an air freshener, well it's simply rubbish! It's easy as predicted to use, the clear watery looking spray sprays out evenly with no drips and IT isn't too wet just distributing mist and yes it even smells nice. A nice sort of creamy smell of almonds that is strong but no complaints about the smell, I rather like it. However although it's easy to use and smells good etc the smell disappears in seconds. Now me, well I'm heavy handed with products such as this and am known to be overly generous so I use much more than a couple of sprays and at first I thought it was just me and that as soon as I had sprayed it my nostrils had got used to it too speedily. Disturbed by the loss of smell I sprayed it, walked immediately out of the room and walked back in.......nope couldn't smell it at all! It's really weird and useless! Nothing feels refreshing about this or anything else. So deterred by this I decided to use it as a linen spray instead. I gave a light spray to some jeans before leaving the house and no residue was transferred but the smell once again did a runner super fast! Then I decided to spray my pillow with it a good hour before I went to bed. Again no smell by the time I tucked myself up. The bad news is though next morning I woke up with massive pink spotty rash that was angry and swollen and it was where I had slept directly where I had sprayed. Now I'm not for one minute saying it was this and that is that but I went to the chemist and the pharmacist said I had an allergic reaction to something and I had to buy some cream. It could of been one of two things that caused this as I have been using a few different things of late including a new fabric softener but it's just a little odd I only got the rash on my neck. Either way this is when I gave up on this product and binned it. Overall: Nice smell when first sprayed but it does a vanishing act immediately and I now don't trust it to use as a linen spray either! Rubbish in my opinion and I won't buy any more of these type of offerings again from Avon! Not recommended from me! Only available from Avon at the usual price of £3.10 a bottle but at the time of writing this review this and a few other 'flavours' are on offer for £2.10.
