Although I do tend to use a spray and either a paper towel or sponge to clean my bathroom I am all for a bit of convenience and something to speed up the job so I do always tend to have a pack of bathroom wipes in the cupboard alongside my usual spray cleaner. Although I don't use them all the time I like to have them around for when I want to give surfaces a quick and easy clean.
These wipes come in a simple plastic pack with a resealable tab on the top. The wipes are simple to remove one at a time - but be sure to reseal so the wipes don't dry up! A pack of 40 wipes costs £1.20, although it is part of a 2 for £2 offer in Tesco at the moment.
One of the main things I like to use wipes for is my bathroom floor which has off-white tiles. These tend to get grubby easily - I'm never quite sure how but I'm pretty sure having a three-year old has something to do with it. For a quick clean these wipes are ideal and they clean my tiles instantly with a simple swipe of one of these wipes - and I find one is plenty to do my whole floor and leave it clean.
I also use these now and then on the sink and I have to say that again they do a good job leaving my sink clean and shiny - and they work well on the taps too! They are so easy to use that it's great if you're in a hurry and only have a few seconds to spare. In fact they are ideal if you have sudden, unexpected guests!
As well as being effective these wipes also have a quite pleasant smell - it's a fresh, clean smell so after use the bathroom smells like it's had a bit of a clean which is an added bonus.
The only very minor downside for me is that you can't flush these away - they have to go in the bin. Not a major complaint at all but I do like flushable wipes where possible!
I also wouldn't use them for a through, deep clean - they are good for a quick wipe but not something to use for a really good scrub I don't think!
They clean well smell fresh and are a good price too - and I find this is a very handy pack of wipes to have in the bathroom cupboard for the occasional quick clean. They are a good price and clean well, leaving behind a pleasant smell. Certainly worth picking up while on offer.
My bathroom seems to be a bit of a dust magnet for some reason. When I use a cloth to wipe it down it just gets full of the dust and when I try and rinse it away it just kinda sticks to the cloth which isn't great. I noticed these wipes in tescos recently so I thought I may as well give them a go.
The wipes are located in the cleaning isle in tescos and come in a bright blue packet. The packet says "bathroom wipes" in large letters and currently cost £1.20 for 40 wipes. They are currently on offer at 2 for £2 and there is a whole range of tesco cleaning products included in this offer. The packet of wipes has a resealable opening, much like packers of baby wipes, to keep the wipes from drying out.
It is easy to pull a wipe from the packet although sometimes 2 or more can come out at once so you have to be careful. The wipes do not have a strong scent and are only slightly moist but are very good at cleaning. I use them all over the bathroom including the sink, bath, toilet and even the floor so they are very versitile! The biggest plus side of these wipes is that you can just through them out after use so you don't have to rinse them out. I find the wipes do get the bathroom nice and clean and the wipes are pretty robust so they don't fall apart when they get wet (worth noting they should NOT be flushed down the toilet, will clog up the drains!)
Overall I would definitely recommend these wipes, my only concern with them is they are rather wasteful (use once and through away) however I only have one bathroom and it is pretty small so I dont feel too bad about it!
I started using Tesco bathroom wipes about 8 months ago. It had never crossed my mind to use them before but they have proven to be a great asset to my weekly cleaning routine.
I found the bathroom wipes in Tesco for £1.20. The pack contains 40 wipes, which works out at about 3p per wipe, which I feel is a good price. They are sometimes on offer as well - 2 for £2, which reduces the costs of the wipe further down to 2.5p.
I don't use the wipes to clean the bathroom in its entirety, I still like to use a spray and sponge but these wipes are great for freshening up the bathroom between cleans. They are just perfect for running over the taps, around the sink and the toilet seat. It really helps the weekly clean become much easier and quicker. Sometimes I use the wipes to clean the bathroom surfaces, shelves and floor and the wipes seem to cope OK with this. I was impressed with how well the wipes cleaned the floor!
The wipes come in a blue, flat packet with a clear re-sealable top to stop the wipes drying out. The only way I could see this being improved upon is by having a proper solid plastic clip lid. However, I imagine this would also increase the cost of the product and so far I have not had any problems with the wipes drying out.
The wipes are of a good size and moist without being too damp. The have a lovely clean and fresh smell, which leaves your bathroom smelling nice without being too overwhelming.
I have tried using the wipes on out shower door but I don't feel they work very well for this purpose. Although the wipes are capable of removing soap scum, I think the shower door requires a spray and sponge to have a noticeable and effective clean.
This product usually lasts about 3 months for me but I don't use them to clean my entire bathroom. I would use 1 wipe to clean the sink and another for the toilet and that is usually all I use each time - once or twice a week between cleans.
Overall I would recommend the wipes as a top up on the cleaning but personally I do not feel they would be up to the task of providing a full clean of the bathroom. To me there would also be too much elbow grease involved in removing the soap scum from the bath - I find this task much easier with a spray and sponge.
When I got to the checkout on my last shopping trip I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to get my usual multi purpose wipes so asked hubby to go and grab a packet. Now I have been using the same brand for a very long time but for some reason hubby could not remember which ones they were and came back with these ones. I did let him off though as I did need them for the bathroom and decided I would try these instead.
The wipes come in a flat packet which is very similar to a packet of baby wipes. It is blue in colour and has the product name at the top with a picture of a shiny bathroom and under this is a red rectangle which contains the claims that these wipes will remove soap scum and control the build up of lime scale. The back of the packet has a white rectangle down the left hand side which has all of the relevant information on these wipes, including the directions for use, warnings and the ingredients which have been used to make the wipes.
The front of the packet has a clear sticky tab which is to allow you to lift and pull out one of the wipes and then stick the tab back down and keep the remaining wipes fresh and moist in the packet.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
The wipes are white in colour and a good size. They are bigger than standard baby wipes which allows for more cleaning from one wipe. When I opened the sticky tab I instantly noticed that there was a smell from the wipes. The smell is not at all overpowering and is very pleasant. It does kind of remind me of the smell of Dettol.
I used these wipes all around my bathroom and found it was so easy to clean everywhere and leave it nice and shiny. The wipes could easily remove the bits of dirt which were in the bottom of my bath and the dried on remains of the bubble bath which my boys had had earlier in the day. The taps were all left lovely and shiny when they had been quickly wiped over and they did for once look exceptionally clean. I found that these wipes did make light work of removing dried on toothpaste from around the bathroom sink which was a big bonus for me.
I did find there was no residue on the bath, sink or taps when I had wiped them over with these wipes and the fragrance was very apparent throughout the bathroom which for me made it smell and feel very clean.
The wipes are not to be flushed down the toilet and are to be thrown away in the normal household rubbish. As this is the case I did not use these wipes to clean the toilet so I cannot comment on how effective they are for this job.
I did use them on the floor which was a great thing to do as it managed to remove all of the dirty foot print and leave it lovely and clean.
The smell in the bathroom stayed for a good few hours after being cleaned with these wipes and it was lovely to walk upstairs and be able to smell it.
The wipes come in a pack size of 80 but if you are cleaning a large surface then 2 wipes may be required. I paid just under the £1 mark from Tesco for my pack and thought this was a bargain. The wipes are not available from other shops as they are Tesco's own brand.
The wipes are made up from the follow ingredients:-
Anionic Sufactant, Non-ionic Surfactant, Perfume, Benzisothiazolinone, Aliphatic Hydrocarbon.
There are a few warning which are listed on the back of the packet which include the usual avoiding contact with eyes, washing hands after use, and if you have sensitive skin then it is recommended that you wear gloves when using the wipes. The wipes are also not recommended for use on marbled surfaces or fabrics.
The packet which the wipes come in is recyclable.
I am going to recommend these wipes as they give a wonderful clean to all bathroom surfaces and leave a lovely fresh and clean smell. One thing I will recommend this that you do not use these wipes before making lunch as they do leave the smell on your hands and fingers which is very hard to get off and may make foods taste a bit funny.
I would just like to say thanks to hubby for his excellent new find for me!
