      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Great stuff

      Lately we have been using some bathroom cleaner from Tesco's which we bought for a fraction over 50p for a plastic pump action spray bottle. This seemed to me to be much cheaper than what we normally pay so we thought we'd snap up a bargain. We are always on the look out for cheap cleaning products. The bottle is fairly plain in appearance and is white plastic and comes in a 500ml size, so you get quite a bit for your coppers.

      The cleaner is very simple and easy to use. Simply turn the nozzle on the top of the bottle to ON and spray. It delivers a good even spray and we leave this for half a minute of so to get to work. We always seem to have a lot of soap scum etc around our bathroom taps and sink taps but it gets to work very quickly at removing it and we find we don't have to go at it too hard with a clean damp cloth before all the grime and dirt just comes away.

      It leaves the tiles, the sink, the bath, the loo, everything nice and shiny clean and looking as good as new. What's more - it doesn't seem to lave any nasty smears or streaks. Obviously, we have to rinse it off but even if we leave bits behind, there never seems to be any residue of the cleaner left behind.

      The smell is fresh and natural and not at all nasty. It doesn't smell manufactured or aggravate the chest or nasal passages or make me cough - so no having to keep the bathroom windows wide open whilst using it.

      One bottle lasts for ages and it is a very useful and hard working cleaner, especially considering how cheap it was.

      Great stuff and highly recommended.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A good bathroom cleaner for a reasonable price

      When it comes to cleaning products I am not loyal to one particular brand and will tend to go for whatever is on offer or works out cheapest at the time, so when I recently ran out of bathroom cleaner I had a look around to see what I could find. After having a look at what was on offer it turned out that Tesco Bathroom Cleaner was the cheapest, I had used this in the past quite a while ago and from what I remembered it was of a good quality so I decided to give it a go.

      Packaging
      The Tesco Bathroom Cleaner comes in a white plastic bottle with a clear and blue coloured plastic trigger spray on the top which can be screwed on and off if needed. The bottle has a blue label on the front with the name of the product "Tesco Bathroom Cleaner" written in red and white writing, the rest of the label is taken up with a picture of a shiny bath and a couple of statements about the product at the bottom of the label. The back of the bottle has a white label on it containing all of the relevant product information including what the product does, directions for use, care instructions and warnings, all of the information is clearly laid out under various headings so it is easy to find what you are looking for.

      The Cleaner
      Tesco Bathroom Cleaner is just a basic cleaner it doesn't contain any bleach but still promises to be effective at removing soap scum and limescale, it is specially formulated for use on bathroom surfaces and can be used on most enamel surfaces so you can confidently clean all areas in your bathroom. The fragrance of the cleaner to me smells almost floral, it doesn't have a chemical smell to it like some other cleaners I have tried, I would say that the cleaner does have quite a strong smell to it and you can definitely smell the cleaner some time after use, however it is not an unpleasant or strong smell. The cleaner is a clear liquid which looks just like water, however when sprayed to comes out as an almost foamy substance which personally I prefer as it means you can see where you have sprayed the cleaner. Whilst Tesco Bathroom Cleaner can be used on most enamel surfaces there are some surfaces that this product should not be used on and these include
      * Marble or stone containing marble
      * Coloured enamel
      * Damaged enamel
      * Enamel that is over 10 years old
      * Wood
      * Aluminium
      * Porous Surfaces
      Before using the cleaner it is advised that you test the product on a area which is not visible, if the gloss of the surface is not effected then the product is ok to use, however you should not leave the cleaner on a surface for more than 10 minutes.

      Directions for Use
      Using the Tesco Bathroom Cleaner is very easy you simply spray the product onto the surface you wish to clean and leave for a few seconds then wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and finally rinse well with clean water. It does state that more heavily soiled areas may need the process repeating more than once in order to get the surface fully cleaned.

      Warnings
      The warnings are clearly written on the back of the bottle and are the sort of thing you would expect to find on this sort of product, the warnings listed include
      * Keep away from children
      * Avoid contact with eyes, if this occurs rinse with clean water
      * Do not ingest, if this occurs seek medical advise
      * People with skin conditions should avoid prolonged contact the product
      * Rinse and dry hands after use

      Price and Availability
      Obviously this particular Bathroom Cleaner can only be purchased in Tesco as it is one of their own brand products. The 500ml bottle cost me about £1.00 which I think is good value for money as it is proving to be reasonably long lasting, I do not have a massive bathroom so there is not a huge amount in there to clean but I do find that you only need a small amount at a time.

      My Opinion
      I have used Tesco Bathroom Cleaner several times now and so far have been impressed with the results, after I have cleaned everywhere using this product the whole room smells clean and fresh and all of the surfaces I have used it on really seem to shine. The cleaner does an excellent job of removing soap scum and water marks, we have chrome taps and after using the cleaner on them they look extremely shiny. This bathroom cleaner is excellent value for money as it is long lasting and effective, I will definitely buy this product again in the future and would recommend it to anyone as it is a cheap yet good quality bathroom cleaner that works.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A good cleaner, just make sure you open the windows first!

      I'm always on the lookout for a bargain when it comes to cleaning products, as I find the cost of these items tends to add quite a bit onto the weekly grocery shop. This is one of my favourite Tesco cleaning products and I rarely venture away from this brand when it comes to bathroom cleaners. I use the Tesco Bathroom Cleaner rather than the Tesco Daisy brand.

      ==Price and Availability==

      The cleaner is available from Tesco (obviously!) and is currently priced at £1.12 for 500ml. They have a special offer on at the moment where you can buy two 500ml bottles for £2.00. I always like to put prices in context with other products, so in view of that you would pay £1.99 for 500ml of Flash bathroom spray.

      ==The packaging==

      The cleaner comes in a white bottle with a nozzle spray. You turn the tip of the nozzle to the 'ON' or 'OFF' position as required, so it is good from a safety and leakage point of view. The bottle is white with a blue label, and looks basic but clean. We keep ours in the cupboard anyway so it doesn't really matter how fancy the packaging is, but to be honest it's not dissimilar to the Flash bottle.

      ==The product==

      I was tempted to reel off the ingredients of this product but I'm not sure that adds any value to this review. Instead, I will tell you about the ease of use and cleaning results.

      The product is very easy to use and is similar to most bathroom cleaners in that you simply spray the surface to be cleaned, leave it for a few minutes and then wipe clean with a damp cloth. It does state you might need to do this twice for heavily soiled surfaces, but I've had plasterers using my bath to fill up their buckets and I've never needed to do it more than once. You're not supposed to leave the spray on too long, but I've been distracted for up to ten minutes and it's never caused any damage.

      ==Cleaning Results==

      The results from this spray are superb, and the bath suite always comes up white and sparkling without any heavy scrubbing or elbow grease. The product can be used on various surfaces, but it does warn you to try an inconspicuous area if unsure. I use it on my bathroom tiles, sink, bath, shower screen, mirror, taps and toilet. It doesn't leave any white marks but wipes clean, and leaves surfaces sparkling.

      ==The downside==

      The only thing I'm not so keen on with this spray is the smell. I find it quite strong and I always make sure the windows are open and the room is well ventilated before spraying. I presume this is due to the strong cleaning ingredients used, so I would expect this with any bathroom cleaner. I guess the price you pay for the cheapness of this product is that they don't bother to try masking the smell or making it more inviting by disguising it with a lemon fragrance for example.

      ==My Experience & Conclusion==

      When I first tried this cleaner I took the chance that it might not clean as well as the leading brand but at least it was cheap. As it turns out, it's one of the rare products that I'm loyal to, because it provides excellent results and is good value for money. I have used this product in my bathroom whilst we were renovating our house, and at times the shower and bath were filthy. Along with plasterers using the bath to fill their buckets, we had drilling going on (only a man would drill over a sink without covering it first!), and filthy soot-covered hands being washed in the sink. This bathroom cleaner coped with all these things, so for everyday splash marks and general dirt it's a doddle. As long as you ventilate the room, you'll have no complaints about this spray.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      It should be 50p not 98p. Buy flash- the nozzle and spray on this will drive you mad

      Tesco bathroom cleaner is sold in a 500ml bottle that looks strikingly like a bottle of Flash Bathroom (it is a white spray bottle with a nozzle and trigger and it has a sticker on it with a gleaming photo of a sink and bath).

      It will cost you 98p compared to £1.60 for Flash.

      The Tesco version smells soapy like your standard ocean scent bathroom spray. It doesn't work as good as the more industrial cleaners (cillit bang style, CIF power spray etc). But it will remove fresh soap scum and general dust and grime so it is an everyday sort of cleaner not one to use if you haven't cleaned your bathroom for 6 months and have had a party the night before etc.,

      My main problem with this product is the spray nozzle. You twist it to the on section and pull the trigger. The problem is it will only dispense a spray of the product when you have the bottle upright. So, if you are trying to spray into the toilet bowl or down into the bottom of a bath or shower it loses its vacuum and nothing comes out.

      Similarly, after about 2 weeks the nozzle normally bungs up and despite trying to poke pins into it and rinse it, the bottles I have had have only sprayed in all directions apart from straight ahead . This means I have had to unscrew the top and just pour some of the product on a cloth or pour it on neat hence wasting a lot of it and throwing the bottle out.

      For this reason, i'd pay the extra 62p and get Flash.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Cheap product but not really worth it

        I am always trying supermarket own brand products as a cheaper alternative to more well known names.
        And as I was successful other times in finding good value for money in similar products I decided to give it a go with the Tesco Bathroom Cleaner.

        Costing only 98p for 500ml bottle it sounds like a really good deal as it is less than half of the price of a branded product.

        The bottle is simple, white with blue details and very easy to use with the turn on/ off spray nozzle. It says it is "specially formulated for use on bathroom surfaces, effective against watermarks and soap scum and suitable for use on most enamel surfaces".

        I usually spray all over the bathtub and basin, leave it for some minutes then I brush everything with a sponge and finally I rinse. It should be job done but this Tesco cleaner proved not too efficient against watermarks as I need to give it another go with the sponge to get rid off them.
        Although It does work well on soap scum.

        Also I found that this cleaner has a very sickening smell. I know this kind of products never have a pleasant one but at least I would expect to smell fresh.
        Well, it does not and it lingers for quite a while in the air which I found quite unpleasant making the job of cleaning up even worse.

        Summing up, I will probably not be buying Tesco Bathroom Cleaner again. It does do its job but not perfectly and the smell for me is just so unpleasant.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        I recommend this product

        This Tesco Bathroom cleaner is one that I have been buying for quite a while. I think it is just as good as the more expensive brands so I thought I'd share my feelings on it with you guys =)

        The price of this product is brilliant. It costs 98p and you get 500ml worth of cleaner for your money. The Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner costs £1.35 and the Flash Guard bathroom cleaner costs £1.55 so you make a bit of a saving with the Tesco one. The spray lasts quite a while, for example if you give your bathroom a good clean a few times a week then the product will last you about a month.

        The bottle is white with a blue nozzle and a sticker on the front depicting a shiny, clean bathroom. As others have said, the packaging doesn't look cheap and does make it look like it could be a more expensive brand. The back of the packaging tells you what the cleaner should do, the directions for use, the usual safety precautions and lists the ingredients.

        To use you simply spray onto the surface, leave for a few seconds then wipe away with a damp sponge or cloth. The nozzle on the bottle is one that you can turn from on to off and has a little pump underneath from which the spray comes out. This works fine for most of the time but I sometimes find that the spray is a bit too thick to come out and you find yourself pumping the handle and just spraying out air. But this generally corrects itself after a few pumps.

        When you spray this cleaner over your bathroom you will notice that it has a lovely smell. It is my favourite smelling bathroom cleaner and part of the reason why I keep buying this product. The smell is quite strong but not overpowering and sweet and fresh. The lovely smell lingers for a couple of hours too so it's nice if you have guests coming.

        The product does the job well and will leave your bathroom nice and clean. It works well on limescale, watermarks, toothpaste stains, soapy scum and will make your taps shiny and sparkling. I also use it on my cabinet mirrors and it does a brilliant job at getting rid of any grubby marks on the glass and leaves them looking bright and clean.

        However, this cleaner is not so effective on tougher stains. For example, when we moved into our new house the bath needed a really thorough clean as it was quite stained and dirty. This particular cleaner was not strong enough on its own. If you just have a normal amount of dirt in your bathroom this cleaner will be fine but anything more than that then it's probably worthwhile getting something stronger. For the tougher jobs I recommend Cif powercream. This costs a whopping £2.68 but (hopefully) you should not need to use it very often as the Tesco one works well if the bathroom is cleaned regularly.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        OK if you don't mind putting in some hard graft

        These days I am trying out more and more supermarket brand products in an effort to cut down on my grocery bills. The latest own brand product to be bought, tried and of course reviewed is Tesco Bathroom Cleaner Spray.

        The spray can be bought at Tesco and costs 80 pence for a 500 ml spray. This is quite a bit cheaper than its branded contemporaries. For example, a 500 ml Mr Muscle spray costs £1.35 and a Flash Guard spray costs £1.49. So it is a reasonable difference and if you get through a lot of bathroom cleaner then it will save you a few pounds in the long run.

        The spray comes in a white bottle with a large bottom and a narrow neck leading up to the pump spray at the top. The bottle has a picture of a sparklingly clean bathroom on it. To me the bottle looks almost exactly the same as the Flash and the Mr Muscle cleaners and it doesn't seem to shout out 'cheap brand', so is certainly not embarrassing to keep on display in your bathroom if you so wish.

        The spray promises to remove limescale, watermarks and soap scum. It is suitable for use on most enamel surfaces but should not be used on marble or wood. There are further warnings on the packaging, including all the normal directions to keep it out of the reach of children, etc.

        Using the spray is very easy. You just turn the nozzle to the on position, spray onto the surface you wish to clean, leave it to work for a few seconds, and then wipe away with a damp sponge. Afterwards you should rinse the surface thoroughly.

        I found the cleaner very simple to use but I found that the spray action is not very strong and you need to hold the bottle quite close to the surface. Also the cleaner does not seem to be as potent as my previous Flash spray and although it will remove stains, it requires more scrubbing and more repeat applications than the Flash spray did. It particularly struggled to remove some stains from a Lush bath ballistic that had left a ring around the bath.

        This is a reasonable cleaner if you often clean your bathroom and only need the spray to give a light clean, but if you tend to leave your bathroom til it needs a deep clean, or if you often find yourself needing to remove stains, then you will probably want something stronger.

        Personally I like to keep my scrubbing to a minimum so will probably sacrifice the extra pennies for a stronger and more effective cleaner.

          A great product

          I was browsing in the cleaning products aisle of Tesco last week and saw that their bathroom cleaner was only 50p so decided to give it a try. I'm one of the odd people who likes cleaning the bathroom, you get the reward of everything looking sparkling for very little effort.

          Packaging
          =======
          Available in a 500ml white plastic bottle with a trigger spray top. It has a picture of a gleaming sink and bath on the front and tells me that it is effective at soap scum removal and that it removes limescale.

          How To Use
          =========
          Simply spray onto surface and leave for a few seconds before wiping clean with a damp cloth and rinsing.

          Cleaning Power
          ===========
          This was remarkably good at cleaning my bathroom. It coped well with the dried on toothpaste blob on the sink and the dirt ring that had formed on the bottom of my shower. It even coped well with the cat hair (my kitty prefers to drink out of the sink than his bowl!). It left my tiles and chrome nice and shiny and worked well on the small bits of plastic around the shower. I never tried it on glass because I prefer to use a specialist glass cleaner for that. It also worked well on the lino on the floor.
          I live in a soft water area so luckily dont have limescale so cant comment on whether it effectively removes it or not.

          Smell
          ====
          I'm never very good at describing smells but will give it a bash. This had a really nice smell, it reminded me of sea breeze. The smell was subtle and left my bathroom nicely fragranced for hours.

          Personal Opinion
          ============
          I was amazed that a product that was so cheap worked so well. Its going to be a regular purchase for me from now on.
