“ Brand: Fairy / Type: Washing Up Liquid / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
As we all know Fairy is a very well known brand and has been around for many years. The brand is now producing lots of different fragrances and so there are a lot to choose from. I decided to choose this one as my next one to try because I hadn't bought it before and thought it would be worth a go.
It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with the name very clearly on the front and so can easily be spotted on a shelf. It has a flip lid which easily snaps back into place again once you have used the liquid to wash the dishes. The bottle is slimline and so very easy to get a grip of the bottle. The liquid inside is a nice orange colour, it is kind of glossy in appearance and quite a shiny liquid, also looks really refreshing inside the bottle too
It is also a really soft, smooth texture, it is very rich in consistency and is not at all runny. This one certainly does not drip from the bottle while pouring it into the water as I have found with some other brands. Once the lid is flipped back, the smell of the liquid is very apparent immediately. The fragrance is quite a strong one and it has a beautiful smell of tangerines and oranges, I cannot detect any of the ginger fragrance in the liquid but that isn't a huge issue and I can just smell the tangerine scent which is a really pleasant one and really refreshing.
Once I have squeezed some of the liquid in the hot water, it creates a lot of bubbles and foam, only a small amount is needed to create these bubbles and a little does go a very long way and using too much of the liquid isn't really necessary and a waste of the liquid. I find that the bubbles do not dissolve quickly and remain in the hot water they last for a very long time too and enough time to wash all of my dishes and especially if I want to leave them to soak for awhile as I often do and then return to continue to wash them. It cuts into my greasy plates and cutlery with no problems at all. It cleans my saucepans very well and removes any stubborn food from the base of them just perfectly. I find it also cleans my glasses and glassware really good too. It leaves the glasses with a nice shine and they sparkle just the way I like them to sparkle. It does not leave any streaky marks on the glasses.
I find that this one does not dry my hands or irritate them at all, I find it is a really nice mild liquid that suits my hands for when I use it in a hurry and do not have time to put on my rubber gloves. It does feel quite pleasant on my hands while washing my dishes too. It is very easy to rinse from the dishes with no problems at all, it leave them nice and clean and with a nice sheen to them.
For a 433ml bottle it cost me just £1 on special offer awhile ago, it is usually priced at around £1.50 and so I saved a little money at the time. I think for this price it is a very good amount of liquid in the bottle and it does last for a very long time because only a small amount is needed.
For the price of this liquid, I just think it is an amazingly good liquid with a really nice smell. I really love the smell of this liquid. I think it is so affordable for most budgets because it can save lots of money as it lasts for a good few weeks depending how often it is used and how many dishes have to be washed in a day.
I highly do recommend this one for anyone to give it a go, I think it is super value for money and has an amazingly good fragrance. It gives me all the results that I expect from a washing up liquid and I will most certainly buy it again in the future. This brand of liquid is super and one of the best around.
I give this liquid 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
~Fairy Tangerine and Ginger Flower~
This is one of many washing up liquids offered by Fairy. Tangerine and Ginger Flower is part of the Fairy Aromatics range which includes two other scents - Pomegranate and Honeysuckle and Green Apple and Lime Blossom. Fairy promise a 'fantastic fresh scent' as well as helping to leave your dishes clean.
This washing up liquid is presented in a tall, curvy bottle which is made from clear plastic. The familiar Fairy baby is illustrated on the front of the bottle alongside some oranges and flowers.
~Price and Availability~
Fairy Tangerine and Ginger Flower is mainly available in a 433ml sized bottle from supermarkets. It is priced around £1.25. A larger 630ml bottle is also available from Wilkinsons priced at £1.80.
When it comes to buying washing up liquid, I always opt for Fairy as I find their products to be the best on the market (in my opinion). I get bored easily with the same scent and over the last few years I have branched out from the original Fairy and the lemon variety. The range of scents on offer is really good and I have tried several of them now. I have just finished a bottle of 'Tangarine and Ginger Flower'. I always buy washing up liquid when it is on special offer and I believe I paid £1.50 for my 630ml bottle which I consider a brilliant price.
The bottle is a simple yet practical affair and features a nice flip top lid for easy dispensing. The liquid itself is a natural orange colour and transparent. It looks nice in my kitchen but I am more concerned about how a product perfoms when faced with its intended job. Our household consists of a family of three. I do a lot of cooking from scratch which usually results in a large pile of dishes and utensils which need washed.
I use the Fairy liquid in two ways. I usually soak my pans and ovenware in the sink with a mixture of this washing up liquid and hot water. I try to do this after I have dished up meals and by the time I come to do the dishes after my meal, any food is removed from my dishes and is easy to wipe away. I wouldn't say that my other dishes require a soak but if I am being lazy or have been eating tomato based foods, I do like to fill up the basin and soak the dishes for a short while. This means I only need to give them a light wipe over and rinse before drying them. I also find it just as easy to dispense a small blob onto a dish brush or scourer bad and wash plates and cutlery this way.
This particular Fairy works a treat. I don't feel the need to use a lot of liquid each time. A few small drops poured under running water or directly onto pots and pans is sufficient to offer a decent amount of bubbles. The scent of this liquid is really nice. The fact that it had ginger in it appealed to me. The tangerine is the predominant smell but combined with the ginger flower a fragrant, warm orange smell is released. It is quite festive smelling to be fair and I enjoyed using it through Christmas. The bubbles last well too and feel very soft to the touch. What I love about Fairy is that whilst it is tough on grease and food stains, it is very kind and gentle to my sensitive skin. My hands always feel soft after washing the dishes which is a benefit for me. Cheaper liquids often result in my hands becoming dry and red.
In terms of performance, this washing up liquid works brilliantly. I find that food marks and grease are removed with very little effort on my part and any bubbles are rinsed away. My dishes are left sparkling clean and fresh. It works a treat on burnt on stains as well as it suitable for use on crockery, glasswear, cutlery and even baking trays and sillicone moulds. My kitchen is left smelling lovely too!
This washing up liquid performs equally as well as the original Fairy and is of a high quality. I love the scent that it offers. I find that having a good quality washing up liquid helps me get the dreaded task of washing the dishes over and done with much quicker as I don't need to scrub and scrub at plates or dishes. My 630ml bottle lasted a good few months with regular use. I have moved on to buy the Pomegranate and Honeysuckle version as Tesco didn't stock this particular scent but I will buy it again and can highly recommend it.
Thanks for reading :)
Unless there is a huge difference in price, I tend to favour Fairy as a brand when it comes to washing up liquid. I find them to be the best performing, and they're usually on offer somewhere making it affordable. This tangerine and ginger flower fragrance was recently on rollback in Asda costing £1. At full price, it costs £1.25 for a 433ml bottle, so is only fractionally more expensive than the supermarket own brands.
The washing up liquid is the high quality you come to expect from a brand like Fairy. It is thick on dispensing, and creates a lot of suds without too much effort. This means it cuts through grease and helps to remove even the most stubborn of stains. I am fortunate enough to have a dishwasher at home, however there are times when I try to help the dishwasher out by leaving things to soak beforehand, or if they don't come out fully clean (usually because I've burnt something!), I give them a good scrub with washing up liquid. This one is one of the better performing washing up liquids I have used.
The fragrance is the best thing about this product. It is very orangey, as you'd expect from the title, although I can't really say I've noticed the ginger aspect. Either way, it's a very uplifting citrus fragrance which brings a smile to my face - not an easy task where washing up is involved. It also lingers for a little while after using, so it helps make the kitchen smell clean and fresh....or disguise the smell of burnt food if you prefer.
Although it's orange in colour, this doesn't seem to have any bearing on the product itself, apart from cosmetics. It doesn't make the water change colour, nor does it stain the washing up bowl or sink. The only irritating thing about the packaging in my opinion is that it seems very easy to dispense more than intended, I'm not sure if it's me being heavy handed, or if it's down to the consistency of the liquid that makes it come out a bit too fast. If you're not careful, you'll soon have some kind of Ibiza style foam party going on in your kitchen.
I do like Fairy as a brand, and this product doesn't disappoint. In fact, it improves on the original product by introducing a nice uplifting fragrance. I can't say I've noticed it being harsh or drying on my hands, but then I have a dishwasher for primary washing up purposes, so I haven't been able to put this to the test really. Five stars from me.

Well never thought that it would happen, but in a bid to make washing the dishes more interesting I have had a change from my faithful green traditional Fairy and gone for the lively orange Tangerine and Ginger Flower version. Whilst this is not exactly earth shattering is has, actually made a very pleasant change to a boring chore!
The bottle itself is very well designed having easy to hold curvy shapes at the top of the clear plastic bottle which is topped by the normal bright red flip off top which as yet has never leaked. The liquid is a lovely bright clear. warm orange and this is what attracted me to try this version and as for the smell well can you remember back to junior school when it was Christmas party time and you had jellies for a treat? it took me a couple of weeks to work it out but this is the scent of this hard working washing up liquid, orange jellies!.
This jolly version lasts just as long as the green type and you only need a small squeeze in the bowl to tackle a normal after tea wash up. Lots of froth and good grease cleaning ability as normal. Where it really passes the test for me is washing up the container which holds the dog's favourite meal, canned pilchards. "Pooh" I hear you cry and it's true they honk but Fairy banishes the smell and leaves a much pleasanter fragrance in my kitchen. It also works a treat on greasy pans and leaves glasses sparkling.
I have also found it kind to my hands and will be quite happy to buy this again particularly as I have always found it to be such good value, this 740 ml bottle has lasted for so many weeks that I have lost count . I paid around 2.00pounds for it in Morrison's in Gibraltar which is always a little up in price as things have to be transported from the U.K.
5 stars from me
Made by Proctor and Gamble, keep away from children and do not get in your eyes, the bottle is recyclable.
Thanks for reading my review, I also post on Ciao under splishsplash.
Back when I used to live with my parents I had a dishwasher at my disposal but when I moved in to my own little rented flat I suddenly had no dishwasher and so needed to do dishes by hand. With this being my first time away from home and having so much else to deal with I decided to go with a brand name and out of them all chose Fairy which impressed me greatly so I have used ever since. When I spotted that Fairy were doing different fragrances I decided to try out their tangerine and ginger offering but was it worth the change?
Fairy is a superb washing up liquid which offers great cleaning power for your dishes without the need for scrubbing. Fairy is one of the best washing up liquids on the market as it dislodges and breaks down the dried on food and sauces from your plates and dishes so that you can wash up all of your dishes much quicker and easier.
If you have something which has really thick build up (for example a tray which has fats that have built up) then put some Fairy on to the area you need to clean and this will soak and break down the build up so that your cleaning is much easier.
Washing up is much easier with Fairy thanks to the fact you need to scrub less and get squeeky clean dishes with a little washing.
Fairy tangerine & ginger has an amazing fragrance which will ensure that your dishes don't smell of those sauces and oils left on them after you've cooked or eaten. The smell is a very uplifting one and so your dishes will smell very fresh after you've washed them and allows for you to enjoy the smell as you do the washing up too.
Great value for money can regularly be had from Fairy as it takes very little of the liquid to wash up with ease. The fact it takes so little of the liquid each time means a bottle will last you for ages but a bottle is very well priced anyway and a 450ml bottle of the tangerine & ginger variety will normally cost you about £1.
Fairy is well known for being tough on dirty dishes but gentle on your hands and this is no different as your hands will feel soft and cared for after using this washing up liquid.
Overall this Fairy tangerine & ginger offers up a great quality washing liquid that will clean your dishes with ease and leave a great fresh fragrance too. The smell is very uplifting and whilst you do your dishes makes it a slightly nicer experience (after all we are putting our hands in dirty water). Great cleaning power that breaks down built up food and dirt on your dishes which makes it easier for you to clean up quickly and easily. A top brand product which is amazing value and a bottle will last you for ages. Highly recommend.
Fairy are a well-known household brand that almost everyone is familiar with. I usually overlook the named brand cleaning products in favour of the cheaper supermarket own-brand varieties, but I was curious to try some of the new Fairy Liquid as it comes in a range of different scents. This Tangerine and Ginger Flower Fairy Washing Up Liquid is available to buy from most supermarkets and I bought my 450ml sized bottle from Tesco's for £1.00.
Product description: "Fairy washing up liquid with the fantastic fresh scent of tangerine & gingerflower."
This washing up liquid comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip top lid. Inside there is a small spout that allows you to dispense the washing up liquid by squeezing on the sides of the bottle. The liquid itself is a bright orange colour that really stands out and makes it easy to see how much you have left, which is useful to avoid running out unexpectedly.
To use, you simply add to a bowl of running hot water. You can use a fairly small amount and still get an ample amount of bubbles, I find that putting the tap on a bit stronger increases the amount of bubbles. The liquid itself is a nice thick gel and it is easy to control how much you are squeezing out of the bottle. The bubbles last very well and I'll still have a bowl full of foam by the time I've finished doing the washing up, which is great as I still get the full cleaning power for the whole time that I'm washing.
The scent of this washing up liquid is really lovely and makes doing a boring chore a tiny bit more pleasant. The tangerine and ginger flower fragrance is bright and fruity with a hint of zingy spice, and makes everything smell fresh and clean. This stands out against other washing up liquids as it is quite an unusual fragrance for this type of product, and it really makes the bubbles seem more luxurious.
I have experienced positive results every time when using this liquid. My dishes are always clean with a minimal amount of scrubbing, and it cuts through messy stains easily. For anything particularly greasy, I put a small dash of liquid straight onto the cleaning sponge and then give it a rub before washing thoroughly as usual. We all get burnt on food after preparing a big meal, and in these cases I fill the dirty pans and dishes with some of the hot soapy washing up water. After leaving for a while (usually the duration that it takes me to finish the rest of the load of dishes) the soaked dishes are then much easier to clean as the liquid breaks down the burnt bits and softens it so it comes away more easily. I have noticed that this Fairy Washing Up Liquid really does seem to be better at cutting through greasy marks and requires less effort to get things clean than when I am using a cheaper alternative product.
I am very happy with the cleaning results that I get from using this product, but as with most things there is also a down side. Every single Fairy advert that I've seen claims that this washing up liquid is soft and gentle and will leave your hands feeling pampered and cared for. This could not be further from the truth in my experience! I do not usually suffer with overly dry skin on my hands, although I do like to keep the skin soft and supple and apply hand lotion every day. After I have done the washing up using this Fairy Washing Up Liquid the skin on my hands feels awfully dry, tight and uncomfortable. I always have to follow up with hand cream quickly afterwards to minimise the effects and to stop my skin from drying out too much.
I was impressed by the excellent cleaning results and loved the scent of this washing up liquid, however I was disappointed that it leaves my hands feeling so bad after washing with it. I would recommend it for easy and effective cleaning, but will dock a point from the overall score as it really affects the condition of my skin for the worse.
