Very cute wooden heart bunting with lovely Union Jack design

      - Why I Bought -
A couple of months ago I read a review by AlmshoeRachy about Tu Union Jack Heart Bunting from Sainsbury's. I instantly wanted it! It looked like such a cute design and very of the moment what with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Olympics and the European Championship football (not that I have any interest in the latter!). So over the last couple of months I have been keeping my eye open for it in Sainsbury's and last week I finally spotted it in a Sainsbury's I had never been in before.

      - The Bunting -
The bunting consists of a 3 metre length of rustic looking brown string. Dotted along the string are 12 wooden hearts, with a hole on each side of the heart where the string is threaded through. There are three different designs of the hearts which alternate: red, blue and Union Jack. The back of the Union Jack ones are plain blue/grey. There are four of each design and each heart has a rustic appearance, made in a way that appears as if the wood is showing through the paint. The hearts themselves are really thin, only a few millimetres thick. They are approximately 9 cm in height and 8cm wide. My only complaint would be that the red is a rather bright shade rather than the deeper 'jam' red of the picture. I think it looks really cute and is of a fairly good quality, especially considering the price. Overall the effect is very good and is ideal for hanging up for royal celebrations and sporting events. As Union Jack printed items are very fashionable at the moment they are really nice to have up on the wall as a permanent decoration, this is what I will be doing with mine.

      - Price and Availability -
The bunting is available from Sainsbury's, although as I said I did have to look in a few stores before I found it. It is priced at £6, although I seem to have got £2.01 off that price without even realising! Anyway I think £6 is a great price.

      - Would I Recommend? -
I would definitely recommend this Union Jack heart bunting as it looks really good hung up and is perfect for celebrations or just everyday decoration. It is such a good price too.

A lovely splash of colour in time for the Jubilee celebrations

Whilst in Sainsbury's recently I was browsing in the home ware section and came across their Tu Heart Union Jack Bunting. We have a couple of Union Jack cushions in our flat, and I thought this would make a lovely addition to add a splash of colour. At only £6 I thought this was a very reasonable price.

The bunting is three meters long. There are twelve wooden hearts evenly spaced along a piece of brown rustic looking twine. The hearts themselves are about 9cm long, 8cm wide and 2mm thick. There is a hole on either side at the top which the twine is threaded through. There are three different types of hearts - red, blue and the Union Jack design. They are painted on both sides, however the Union Jack design is only painted on one side with the reverse being a lighter blue. There are four of each design, and they are arranged Union Jack, red then blue repeated along the twine. The hearts also look rustic - although they are painted, you can still see parts of the wood underneath through the paint strokes.

These would be the perfect addition for any party to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee this year, or just as an addition to any home. Looking at them I think they would be fine outside, but may not last long if kept permanently out there. The bunting is nice and light, and there is plenty of twine at either end for hanging up.

Overall I think they add a lovely splash of colour to our home and I would definitely recommend, especially for those of you looking for decorations to help you to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

        Thanks for reading.
        Rachy
