Lime Green Chenille Bath Mat from Sainsbury's

Introduction The first thing that struck me when I went out buying bits and bobs for my new home was the sense of freedom I had in choosing what I wanted. I came out of a 12 year long relationship last year and had never lived on my own in the past and whilst parts of the decision making were quite daunting and there were times when my indecisiveness left me spoilt for choice I found myself adjusting to life as a single person again a lot easier then I thought I would and really enjoyed setting up a new home that was for just me. Other than a few essential kitchen items I had nothing when I got my new home and had to decide on what I wanted for each of my rooms, I always had the idea that I wanted a lime green bathroom when I saw the accessories and items that were available to buy and having decided on a painted lime green feature wall in my bathroom I went shopping for some lime green towels and bath mats to finish off the look and ended up buying this one from Sainsbury's, the "Shaggy Chenille" at a reduced cost of £7.50 from its original price of £10.00. Shaggy Chenille Lime Green Bath Mat The picture of the bath mat here is a good if not perfect representation of what you get if you choose to buy this one, the colour is actually a lot more vibrant and is more yellow-y than shown here and is a light, bright mat that contrasts well against the slate-black flooring I have in my bathroom. It measures 80cm in length and 50cm in width and is made from soft-to-the-touch Chenille fabric that feels luxurious underfoot when stepped upon. It has a non-slip backing that keeps it firmly in place on my bathroom floor although is prone to movement but doesn't slip and slide around. It's made from 100% cotton and is machine washable at 40 degrees and having owned and used mine for a few months I can confirm that it washes perfectly and dries in very little time in my Tumble dryer. I like the tufty appearance of the bath mat, it looks and feels of excellent quality and whilst it's probably not the most exciting thing to own or write a review on I do think it adds a touch of class and luxury to my bathroom and in my opinion it's a far nicer-looking bath mat than the cheap towelling ones that you can buy that end up looking limp and lifeless once a drop of water touches them. It's very soft underfoot and your toes squish nicely into the fabric tufts when getting into the bath and when your feet are wet after you hop out of the bath I find that it feels just as nice against the soles and heels of my feet and the soft fabric dries quickly without any problems. The fabric tufts do flatten down once its been stepped on but I find that it's easy to shake back into life once its had time to dry out a bit and as I bath most if not every evening I tend to wash my bath mat on a weekly basis and have had no problems with any pulls or snags in the material. Mine has retained it's bright vibrant colour even after plenty of washing machine spins, it's remained colour-fast and still looks and feels as it did when I first bought it and overall I have had no complaints whatsoever with mine. It is a pricey option when compared to other bath mats that are available to buy but I do feel that you are getting excellent value for money and if you are wanting to match your accessories to a specific colour scheme then it's worth paying that little more if you know you're going to achieve an overall look for your bathroom. Mine matches my feature wall exactly and goes well with the lime green towels and other accessories I have in there and for how much use I've had out of mine and how it still looks a few months down the line I do believe it was money well spent. Checking the prices for the purpose of this review I've noticed that the bath mat has gone back up to it's original price of £10.00 on Sainsbury's website and even at full price I think it's worth buying, it is available in a number of different colours too should the green not be one that suits and overall as far as I'm concerned this is a five star product that gave me exactly what I was after. Thanks for reading my review.
