The Perfect Gift For Maddy :]

Some of you might have seen in my reviews that pretty soon Im going to be a godmother to my friends little girl. Now Im very excited about the big day but when it came to shopping for some presents for the little one I have to admit I was stumped. As my friends little girl is almost 2 none of the 'normal' christening gifts were an option in this case as most of them are aimed towards newborn babies so I was totally confused on what to buy for the occassion. Luckily enough my mom was also looking around for something I could buy and one day she came home with this 'Pastimes First Tooth Holder' which is just the type of thing I was looking for - something appropriate for the occassion and her age and also something that she could keep forever as a memento of the day - Im so glad my mom found this for me as I think its the perfect present!

      Useful Information:
Price: Currently on sale - £6.40
      Stockists: Pastimes & pastimes.com
Other Info: This is available in either fairy or teddy bear design - I personally went for the fairy design as that one just looked so much nicer to me. This trinket box is silver plated and blue blaize inside and at the bottom. 5cm height & 3cm diameter - so its a very small yet cute gift.

One thing I did like about this gift is that the packaging it came is is also very cute and since I bought it a good while before the day it was a great little box to keep it stored in for me. Also when my friend gets this present it would also make a nice display box if you want to keep the condition a bit more pristine. The trinket box comes in a small beige box with the Pastimes brand name on the front and a small amount about the gift inside on the back - there is also an address and email address to write to if you have any other questions about the gift. The inside of the box is padded so you know the trinket box inside wont be damaged or marked at all when you come to display it so its very secure.

The trinket box itself in my opinion is so gorgeous and it really does make the ideal gift for a new baby or a christening - which is lucky for me hey?! The box is really tiny in size - in height its smaller than my little finger but in this case bigger isnt always better as the size of this actually makes it a better design I think. On top of the small silver box is the fairy figure complete with wings and a very tiny wand - it really does look so well made and this is the perfect present for a little girl - they will think its cute even if they dont realise what its for LOL. The fairy design appealed to me more because of the tooth fairy theme but the teddy bear design may be better suited if this is a gift for a little boy - its nice to have the choice anyway. On the bottom (tooth holder) part of the box are the words 'First Tooth' engraved on the front and for some reason it also has a padded blue bottom - not to sure what that adds to the design or function but I suppose it makes the design look a little more classy and pricier. The top fairy part can is then simply pulled off to pop the babies first tooth inside. The inside is actually quite large considering what the box is intended for (and its also padded with the same blue material) so realistically about 10 baby teeth could be kept in this box if thats what the parent wishes to do - so even though its a small box there is plenty enough room for a tiny tooth! My mom a bit funny with keeping things - so we dug out MY baby teeth [and Im 20!!] and put them in the box to ensure they fit and they do with ease so size is not an issue.

The design is of this trinket box is simply stunning in my opinion and it looks way more expensive than it actually is as well so thats a double whammy for me! Ive shown this gift to my friend and she is overjoyed that I found such an appropraite present as its something her daughter will be able to keep forever if she wants to so I agree that this is the perfect present for a christening or if a friend has recently had a new baby. Its cheap yet looks beautiful and expensive, easy to display and good for a occassion - that involves babies/children obviously! - as trust me parents will lvoe this, if they are anything like my friends anyway. So glad my mom found this and I cant wait to give this away at the christening!
