“ Brand: Betterware / Type: Pest Control „
I am a little bit obsessed with the betterware catalogue and always look forward to perusing it when it comes through my letterbox. I think that they do some amazing products that are really innovative but then again they also do some tat so it is a bit of a risk when ordering what you are going to end up with. The fly trap window stickers definitely fall into the tat category and were pretty useless but they seemed like a good idea at the time when I ordered them. I hate fly spray and it always chokes me up and hurts my throat and eyes in summer when I have to use it so I am always on the lookout for other more natural ways to get rid of the pesky little blighters. The fly trap window stickers were cheap at only £2.99 so I thought there would be no harm in trying them out and seeing if they worked. The first thing I thought then the stickers arrived was just how hideous they actually were and I was embarrassed to actually put them up on my windows but after paying for them I was going to use them no matter how ugly they might be. They are shaped like sunflowers and just look really tacky and old fashioned. I positioned them as discretely as possible on my windows and waited for them to work their magic. Sticking them to the window was easy and they just went straight on and stuck first time. Removing them wasn't as easy as betterware promised and I did have to sponge them off with hot soapy water. It wasn't a big deal though and it's not like they marked or stained my windows. They are supposed to work because they have been infused with a scent that is supposed to be irresistible to flies and in theory the flies should be drawn to the sticker and go to it in which case the sticker traps the fly so you don't need to worry about them flying around your rooms or landing on food etc. Well I had the stickers positioned everywhere and over the course of a week or so they managed to catch two flies and I think they probably just accidentally flew into them. I was really disappointed as betterware are usually better than this. Even if some of their products aren't really needed they usually work. The stickers were useless and the flies would just continue to fly around my rooms completely ignoring the stickers so in the end I had to go back to using the fly spray. To be honest I was glad to get the tacky stickers down off my windows but if they had worked and caught the flies like they were supposed to I could have put up with just how ugly they were. I wouldn't even recommend trying these as in my experience they were absolutely useless and not even worth the £2.99 I paid for them.
