I lived in Towers hall for two years of my degree course at Loughborough university. The hall is arranged in two seperate towers the West Tower - 20 floors and 11 rooms per floor and East Tower - 17 floors and 5 room per floor. The west tower is arranged ith room around the outside and in the middle are two toilets / baths and a kitchen. The east tower has a central area with the 5 rooms around, there is one toilet bath and a small kitchen in the entrance to the floor. There are 4 lifts in the hall. Two service the East Tower and Two for the West. The hall is fully catered so the kitchen mainly is for light snacks / cups of tea etc.. The layout of the rooms in a circular fashion make for quite a sociable floor additionally due to the shape of the tower (i.e circular) the room have to be quite a funny shape to fit everything in - ends up with a bigger room. Hall food is OK but to be honest generally on the poor side. I am told it is better this year though! Towers has its own bar which is also used by Butler court hall next door. The bar is very sociable and very cheap, also has a v.large TV so they show football / rugby and also play a video on Sunday night. It is also known that Towers Bar has the best looking bar maids on campus!! From the hall it is only a qiock walk to the union - 5 mins, goeography, sports science, human science, chemistry, computer science, business school and english departments are all within 5 mins. The engineering, physics and maths departments are all the other end of campus about 20 - 25 mins walk (so a bike is a good idea), the library is about a 15-20 min walk. All in all Towers is a great hall with its own bar and if you don't mind a bit of a walk now and again to the library then it is well worth it.
