Classic country manor house in an exquisite location

I am a huge fan of this hotel and it happened to be where I got married so it holds great memory for me.

The hotel is located in the beautiful New Forest just outside of the village of Brockenhust and only a few minutes from the hauntingly beautiful Burley. It is nestled in the heart of the forest and is found from driving up a long and winding drive of ornamental trees from around the world, including huge redwoods and the road leading to the hotel is magical within itself and through each season the colours change with unique qualities.

The hotel is expensive. It is afterall a country manor house and a very upper class one at that. The rooms are approx £130 per night and more, but are worth every penny with luxurious beds, beautiful bathrooms and room service.

The hotel has the main restaurant which is wooden clad and very ornate serving fine foods and it also has the orangery which is a contemporary bistro, again very pricey but the food in both are excellent. There is a large lounge area where you can sit and look out onto the beautiful pond and fountain set within huge acres of grounds and this also serves food including afternoon tea. Its not the best afternoon tea in the area but worth it for the location.

The hotel has a room called the alhambra which is a morroccon styled room and is host to 13 people who can eat there when this room is hired out specifically at a cost! This room however is exceptionally beautiful and if you can afford it you should eat here.

The hotel hosts weddings and you are set your own wedding planner which helps organise the whole day.

There is a downfall with this hotel and that is the spa. Its not up to scratch for a classic and demure hotel set in the new forest. The pool is very small and for only a ten minute drive away you can go to sen spa in Brockenhurst which is out of this world.

This hotel is well worth going to on fathers day as they host a village style day with bbq, strawberries and cream, beer tasting and traditional games and is always an enjoyable day.

Overall an exquisitely beautiful hotel and location in the heart of the new forest.
