Had a great stay here nothing was too much trouble staff very welcoming

My other half's family are from Wythenshawe Manchester and we only rarely see them (with us having 2 young children-3 and 1, travelling on a train was off putting) We decided to go and stay and see them in April 2010 and this was our hotel of choice as it is next door to the Heald Green Train Station so we didnt have to worry about getting a taxi anywhere further-with suitcase, pram and the 2 small children! Plus it was driving distance for the family to visit us and had many shops down the road. Arriving at the hotel we didnt know what to expect as we had never stayed at a Premier Inn before and it was also our first time staying away with the kids so were nervous about how they were going to react. We went straight into the reception and were greeted by 2 young girls on the desk who were very friendly, big smiles and even made an effort with the children what more could we ask for! They checked us in very quickly told us about the breakfast menu and where the restaurant was located. We had been given the first room on the ground floor which was really good as we did have a large pram with us plus it was right next to the reception/entrance and restaurant. The hotel is very large and I was surprised how many rooms they had in there! We went into the room and were very pleased with what greeted us. As we walked in we had a wardobe on the right with drawers and hangers-plenty of storage, to the left was the bathroom relatively small but housed a bath, over head shower, toilet and sink. Also had bin, soap dispenser, towel rail and a shower gel dispenser on the wall of the bath-very handy! The room itself was big enough for a VERY large double bed, a single bed and also another single bed on the floor. There were 2 bedside tables on either side of the double bed with lamps on the walls. There was also a dressing table with a tv including Freeview, mirror with overhead light and tea and coffee making facilities including mugs and glasses. Everything was very clean and tidy. The kids were very excited with the room! We unpacked, freshened up and got ready to pop down to the shops to pick up some flowers. The shops are about a 2 minute walk from the hotel along the main road. There are plenty so you can pick up any necessities you may need. Shops include : One Stop off license, Tesco express, Somerfields, chinese takeaway, florists, banks, and sandwich shops amongst many others. There are also bus stops along the maid road that take you to places like Stockport, Trafford Centre etc. We got what we needed then went back to the hotel to go to the pub/restaurant. This is a very large pub but inside the restaurant is very modern and a lovely place to eat. There are plenty of seats and a conservatory. The staff are very friendly. When we first went in approx 3pm the pub was pretty empty and the waitress couldnt have helped anymore she was lovely. The food was very nice and good priced too. We also went back into the actual pub later that night and it was busier. We got a very good nights sleep that night as the beds were so comfy! The only problem was the double bed was very high off the floor-my legs didnt touch the floor and the sleeping arrangements were supposed to be me and the youngest in the double then other half and daughter in a single bed each but we had to put the 2nd single bed inbetween the double and single as I was very concerned about him falling out the seriously hurting himself. The following day we went out to Stockport but we had tea in the restaurant that night. Again was very nice but we had to very tired and a poorly girl we didnt stay long and went back to the room. Approx 6pm on the Friday night our daughter took a turn for the worse and we had to take her to hospital. The lady on reception was very helpful for us offering to call us a taxi etc this was really good as at this time there was a very large party of approx 15 people trying to check in. The doors for the hotel get locked approximately 10pm so if you pop out you have to ring the buzzer to get let in. We had no problems doing this until it hit about 1am and my other half was returning from hospital the person on reception had gone to get a coffee so we did have to wait but he did apologise. As this is classed as the Manchester Airport hotel you are in the flight path-great for watching planes as they are right over your head! The concern with noise from them shouldnt be worried about as the windows have a very thick layer of 2nd glass and after about an hour of being in the room we didnt even notice the plane noise and bearing in mind they come in about every 10 mins you would think it would be a problem but it wasnt. This room for 2 nights cost us £50. We didnt know what to expect but we were really happy with all aspects of the stay the rooms are very clean and comfy, good location and the staff are always happy to help and very friendly. We have said we will definetly return whenever we go and visit.
