      Great Hotel - Polite Staff

Upon visiting the Suffolk coast recently we ended up stopping in at the Premier Inn to rest up for the night. The Premier Inn we chose was situated less than 2 miles from Lowestoft and 9 from Great Yarmouth. Approaching the hotel from the road it is not all that visible, with only the sign in the car park being obvious. The hotel itself is situated behind the Foxburrow Inn pub set back a fair way from the road. There is ample free parking for the hotel and it wasn't a problem to get parked relatively close to the reception. There are no steps to get into the hotel itself so it wheelcahir and diasbled friendly. The reception area here is fairly small with a couple of sofas and a small check in desk. On arrival the staff were very helpful and dealt with all our queries as well as I could have asked them to have done. We were informed a double room for 2 for the night would cost us £58. For an evening meal with a drink, and then an all you can eat cooked breakfast in the morning was an extra £20 per person, per night. The hotel hasn't got it's own restaurant or bar, the Foxburrow Inn provides the hotel with this service and there will be a review of this to follow. We were directed to our room (No. 26) through a door leading from the reception into a long corridor with doors either side, and doors every 10 rooms or so to stop noise echoing down the hallway. We made it to our room and let ourselfs in and were pleasently surprised at the large size of the room. There was of course a double bed and, television (with digital freeview) located on a built in shelving unit/wardrobe, with a desk next to this. The first thing that I noticed however was that the kettle was just inside the door on a low shelf probably around waist height, which was strange to say the least and if anything the tiniest bit dangerous. There is also a desk in the room and a sofa which could easily be used as a single bed. The En-suite bathroom wasn't anything special but sufficed our needs with both a bath and shower. Both soap and shower gel/shampoo were provided free of charge. There were 2 large and 2 small towels all clean and all very soft. The bed in the room could not be described as anything else other than very comfortable and provided us both with a great very quite nights sleep. We did not suffer from any traffic noise or noise from the hotel itself our entire stay. The decor in the room as with all hotels in this chain is purple and white. Although this may sound a bit of a stange colour combination it works great and dosen't leave the rooms feeling too dark. On check-out from the hotel there wasn't anybody at the desk, so we just dropped the key through the hole in the desk at reception and left. This was the only bit that felt a little impersonal as had we any complaints we would of had to waste time finding a member of staff, but hardly worth mentioning after the rest of the stay went well anyway. Overall we had a brilliant stay here and I would definately recommend it to anybody looking for a fairly cheap hotel with dinner and breakfast. The post code is NR32 4AA and the hotel is located at 249 Yarmouth Road just outside of Lowestoft.
