Nice hotel and cheaper than the Premier Inn

Myself and my wife use this hotel a number of times a year, as it is close to the train station, tram station and a short walk in to town yet not that close that you are stuck with the noise of Nottingham night life. When booking this hotel make sure you check prices as they vary depends on were you book from, The Jurys Inn site has some very good offers if you know in advance when you will be stopping there, no matter how you book make sure you print out your booking as they do tend to get a bit mixed up at times.
The breakfast is the high point of our stay as there is so much to choose from and the coffee is so nice, if you are a tea drinker there is at least 8 different types to choose from, but I will say that over the last 5 years it changed a bit and not everything for the better, there is less to choose from and the one small slow toaster they have for all there guest is a bit of a joke.
We have only had our tea in the restaurant there once and that was enough for us, the portion as very small and the sauce was not what it stated on the menu and when I questioned it the chef came to tell me I was wrong and infact it was hollandaise sauce. What the chef did not know was that I am a head chef, I soon got the correct meal I ordered.
The only other bad point to this hotel as we found out on our last stay was they have removed the free water and ice machine off each floor and now charge for bottled water at reception. Once noticed we went to the Tesco which is at the end of the road.
The rooms are very nice we always like one with the sofa in as they have more space, and the wife loves the air-conditioning, the TV in the room has limited channels but we do spend most of our time out in town. The bathroom with shower is great and the free body wash and shampoo is a very nice touch.
All the staff are very friendly and will help you out any way they can even with takeaway menus!!
If you are stopping a number of times they offer a points card were you collect each time you stay which add you to free stay or gift cards and many more things.
All in all a nice hotel to stop for a few days.

      Great location but expensive!

Last Saturday (2/2/2012) myself and my partner's parents drove from Lincoln to Stoke to see a football match. On the way back it started to snow heavily but we ploughed on through, what was a 3 hour journey took us 5 hours just to get us to Nottingham (an hour from Lincoln) by which point the snow was so bad that people were abandoning their cars. The snow storm was terrible, a 30 min walk to the train station revealed that there were no more trains to Lincoln - we were stuck and we needed a hotel room.

The closest hotel to Nottingham train station is Jury's Inn. We entered the lobby looking a state among all the stag and hen parties who were milling around. £87 gets you a last minute double room with no wifi or breakfast which is pricey by any standard but we were desperate!

The room was immaculate and a good size with a tv which had all the standard Freeview channels with good reception. The room also had a kettle with a standard selection of tea, coffee and decaf coffee. I got rather excited by the fact they had Twinnings Everyday tea. There was also a hairdryer which I didn't use. There wasn't a radiator in the room which would have been handy to dry our wet socks.

The ensuite was a good size with a shower in the bath, sink and toilet with two large mirrors. Liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided from dispensers. The shower boggled the mind. It had two settings - freezing cold or scolding hot. I opted for the scolding hot. Towels were provided, they weren't a massive size but would have to do. They also provided a smaller towel for the hair.

The size of the double bed wasn't as big as I'm used to but was comfortable. The pillows were also a bit on the small size and for those who like extra support for the head one extra pillow was provided though I would have expected two given as it was a double room.

It was a little cold in the room but you do have access to temperature controls, we cranked it up to full blast as we were so cold but had to turn it down in the night when it got too hot. A restful night's sleep though my partner did report that he was woken by drunks in the night.

All in all okay but it was really expensive for what you actually got. We left in the morning and returned safely home, you'll be glad to know!

On my latest 'road trip' in search for a better nightlife than our hometown with two of the girls (which really turned into a 'track trip' as we ended up traveling by train) we decided to go to Nottingham! Originally we tried Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester however due to price, availability and leaving things last minute (as ever!) after recommendation we decided to try out Nottingham! Our main reason for visiting that particlar city was for the supposed amazing shopping...but we didn't get round to that in the end after a few too many on the night!!

As we departed the train station with our hefty suitcases (yes a suitcase for one night!!) we were prepared to have to jump in a taxi and had no idea where we were going...it turns out the minute we stepped outside there it was in huge writing at the end of the road. With a mahoosive suitcase it did feel like a long way away but really it was a 2 minute walk! Perfect location!
We did end up spending quite alot on taxis as it was £5 minimum fare per taxi and on a night out in heels wether the bar is around the corner or miles away a taxi was needed! I guess also since none of us knew the city jumping into a taxi and being taken to the door was much better than running around aimlessly trying to find places!

On arrival into the Jurys inn building we were greeted by a lovely modern simple yet classic reception area. Once we reached the front of the queue the receptionist welcomed us to the hotel, swiped the card, gave us our room keys, explained how to get to our room and gave us a map of the city. I found the staff very helpful and even though we asked them a million and one questions they didn't seem put out at all and answered very cheery!

Before the trip me and a friend had decided to 'shotgun' the double as we agreed the single would most probably be a camp bed but as we entered the room we saw one double and a more than adequate sized single bed - guess the joke was on us there ;) The room was again very modern yet minimalist with a dresser and mirror, a TV, a full length mirror, three bedside tables, a chair, kettle, glasses, cups and a bathroom with a shower over bath, sink and toilet!
We didn't really use the room too much - more of a dump the bags, get ready, go out, sleep, get ready and out again! But it was perfect for us!

The beds were basic, maybe a little hard for my liking but they were good enough for a nights sleep! There were also extra pillows which was a good job as they were rather on the thin side and at home I like my big fluffy pillows!!
I think the best part of the room was our shower! I never really expect much from showers in basic hotels but it was a brilliant Mira power shower - enough to help relieve my hangover the next morning! Everything in the room/bathroom was very clean which I think is the main thing when staying in a hotel as so many out there don't pay enough attention to this.

The Hotel has a restaurant, a bar and a coffee shop. All 264 rooms are equipped with hairdryer and air conditioning.

Since we were not driving we did not need use of a car parking facility however I am told that whilst the hotel does not offer a car park themselves they have a special deal with a fitness centre and offer a night car parking for £5 which is not bad at all.

Jurys Inn is DDA compliant and has a number of guestrooms suitable for wheelchair access. These rooms have been designed to the highest specifications and include:

      *Wide doorways
      *Sufficient floor space to manoeuvre
*Fully accessible bathrooms, including either a roll-in shower or bath with additional hand rails, lower sink, grab rails and pull cords

I didn't acutally eat here so I cannot comment on the food but the menu looks brilliant and the place itself looks very well looked after and clean. I caught a glimpse of the buffet style breakfast which seemed to offer everything from cereals and fruit to cooked breakfast!

"Nottingham is no stranger to historical fame, but its rich past and colourful links to Robin Hood are matched today by a vibrant business and cultural life. It has a confident, cosmopolitan air about it, and visitors to this central English city always enjoy a genuine welcome.

You'll find Jurys Inn Nottingham hotel on the London Road in central Nottingham. It's an easy task to navigate around this beautiful city from the hotel as it's close to the central railway station and just two minutes from Nottingham's tramway.
You may find yourself looking for hotels in Nottingham for business, or to enjoy many of the family-orientated leisure pursuits that can be found locally, but whatever your motivation, we'd certainly recommend adding to the attraction by staying with us at Jurys Inn!
Our spacious and comfortable rooms are all en-suite and can accommodate three adults, two adults and two children, or just one person in complete comfort."

We all really enjoyed our trip and found Nottingham a great city to stay in, the hotel really was just what we needed. I think if you are looking for luxury then you might want to look elsewhere but if you just need a nice, affordable, clean place to crash with brilliant facilities then this is your hotel. I have heard great things from Jurys inn's on a whole and will deffinatley be booking again on our next trip!
I hope you enjoyed my review - if you have any questions please feel free to ask away! :)

        Would stay again and again!

I have stayed at this hotel a handfull of times both during the week and at weekends. It is centrally located really close to Nottingham Train Station and perfect for a stroll in to the City Centre for a meeting.

You approach the hotel accross a paved plaza with offices, apartments and the hotel surrounding it. There is a canal behind the hotel too which is nice for a walk after dinner (only in the summer, its a bit dark in the winter).

The hotel foyer is all marble with huge pillars supporting the floor above. To your right is the restaurant which serves a great range of evening meals and some nice wines to accompany them. To the left is the bar which serves pretty much what you would expect drinks wise in a hotel. They also do foof in the bar. The burger is great. Both the restaurant and bar are decorated in modern stylish decor.

The room itself is basic but not as basic as you would find in a travel lodge. There is everything you need when staying alone and most importantly it was all in good repair and clean. The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic and couldnt have been more helpful.

          Good hotel all round.

I stayed in this hotel recently as I was on my way to Scotland. The hotel is really close to the train station, literally a 5 minute walk. The first thing you notice as you walk into the hotel is the reception - which is big. This hotel is newly built so it smells nice too! The rooms are nice, big and clean. Despite this hotel being a high-rise there is minimal upstairs noises and we enjoyed a good night's sleep. The hotel is also close to the city centre (on the southern side of the city) and definitely within walking distance. We had breakfast there too - not cheap but very good! One thing to note though - make sure the room you are staying in has heating! It was in January when we turned up and the room we were given had a faulty heating system! We were speedily allocated a second room so no problems there - but just make sure you check!

Overall this hotel is quite good and I would stay here again next time I am going up north!

          Good hotel

I stayed at the Jury's Inn Nottingham recently while on a friend's stag do. The best man booked everything through a company called chili sauce that organises hen and stag weekends. The hotel was all part of the package. It is what I would describe as stag and hen friendly! Chili Sauce must send a lot of hens and stags here, as there were at least 5 others there when we were.

Obviously therefore because of that, this hotel is probably not where you want to take your beloved to for a romantic break or your family for a quiet relaxing weekend. That is not to say that the hens and stags had the run of the palce or were running around going crazy, but even people walking to their rooms late at night talking would be loud enough.

The hotel itself was very clean and looked as if it was not open all that long. Very modern and clean furnishings. The bedrooms were what you would expect, two beds, tv, usual tea coffee facilities, good sized bathroom and a great powerful shower that certainly helped to wake me up in the mornings!

I have to say that the breakfast was excellent and a lot better than what I expected. There was a full buffet of all the usual cooked breakfast fare - sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc, as well as cereal, tea, coffee, juice.

IThe hotel is very handy to the train station, literally a 5 minute walk (if that). This was good as we went to Derby on Saturday. The tram station is beside the train station and this brings you into the centre of Nottingham in no time.

One small bad point was that there was no late residents bar, so when the bar closed that was it for the night!

As I said above we got it through Chili sauce, so in terms of price, I think it worked out at maybe £40 per person per night for a twin room. I am sure it is more expensive if booking directly or yourself on the webiste.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for stag or hen parties or for a group of mates going away together.
