Fashionistas eat your heart out. Missoni best known for their colourful knitwear have opened a hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. Although I haven't stayed in the hotel I have visited the bar on numerous occasions. Location - ideally situated just off the Royal Mile. Very handy if you have been to the castle or St Giles. Greeted at the door by a doorman wearing a kilt. Not unusual in Edinburgh but this is a Missoni kilt. Being Scottish I am not too sure about the kilt in Missoni fabric as it does look more like a skirt. Friendly welcomed us in. It can be quite busy but the staff were helpful and we were found seats quickly. The bar is in the middle of the room and forms a large oval shape. Stylish stools surround it and there are lower tables and chairs situated next to the walls. If possible sit on the chairs as they are more comfortable and it is obviously less busy. In addition you can get table service so don't have to queue at the bar area. The serving staff are very friendly and give prompt service. Apart from the décor the best thing has to be the prosecco which is on tap! I have never seen this before but can certainly recommend it. The bar decorated in a colourful fashion as you would expect from Missoni.with funky lights that look like oversized electric light bulbs. The ladies loos are very purple but with reassuring lighting and clean. Overall I would recommend a visit. It can be busy especially during the Festiva in August but it is a nice location to meet up and with prosecco on tap could a girl ask for more?
