This Holiday Inn is based in the Filton area of Bristol, not far from Bristol Parkway and the University of the West of England. It is also not far from the Aztec West Business Park. As such it is largely a hotel for business customers who do not necessarily need to be in the centre of Bristol.
On first appearances from outside it does not look particularly salubrious, however when you step inside the foyer etc it is very nicely done and surprisingly polished and glamorous. The main reception area is large and I found check in to be quick and efficient. You can opt to leave your credit card details so that you can add things to your bill. I asked about internet access and found that it was £15 for 24 hours which I considered to be pretty steep!
The way that the roomsa re all positioned is quite sprawling but I found mine with relative ease. I had a double which meant that I had a very nice comfortable double bed and a bathroom with an in-bath shower and heated towel rail. There were also complimentary soaps, shampoo and bodywash but a number of other items could be ordered from reception if so wished. A TV was also provided with an option to purchase films. There was also a decent sized wardrobe, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, a trouser press and a mini-fridge with spirits, wine and soft drinks in.
The room was immaculate and decorated in a homely but modern style. Whilst not huge it was comfortable enough to move around in. The bed was also comfortable. An interesting quirk and one that I had not seen before is that it has a couple of pillows which were tagged as being 'hard' or 'soft' and that you could choose to have reception bring you a particular type of pillow according to your preference for free. The room itself was also nice and quiet, save for a bit of traffic noise at it is not far from a number of a number of major roads.
Just off the reception is the bar and restaurant. The restaurant serves a good variety of foods to meet most tastes and the bar is well stocked but expensive (it cost me £7.65 for a large glass of white wine!) and there is a pool table a large screen and a fruit machine. Other facilities include a pool, sauna and gym which I did not use.
There were also a number of meeting rooms available with various flexible delegate rates.
The room cost £130 for bed and breakfast (so not including the evening meal) which is really quite steep but on par with other hotels in the area. I did not have time to have a breakfast myself but apparently a variety of foods were available from 6am. Check out was also quick and efficient.
In conclusion, I was really impressed with this hotel as a clean, efficient venue and accommodation and would recommend it to anybody who needed a comfortable place to stay in the area.

Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference/meeting rooms and small meeting rooms.
