I loved this hotel. It is old and charming. I had a single room and it was really nice. the only problem was the single bed. I hadn't slept in a single bed for years so found the experience slightly difficult. The bed was comfortable. The rooms had everything that you needed i.e. hairdryers, trouser presses, tea making facilities etc. They were lovely and clean and the en-suite was spotless. All toiletries were provided by the hotel and were of a quality brand. The restaurant was also really good. The breakfast was help yourself. Tea and toast were served by the staff and a chef dished out the cooked breakfast. There was every type of food you could think of to suit British and continental tastes and everything was beautifully fresh. Lunch was informal and delicious as well. There was a good variety and again it was all beautifully prepared and fresh. Evening dinner was a more formal setting with full waiter service. Again the food was fabulous. I lived in the hotel on a business basis for 4 days and was delighted with the whole experience. THe hotel was based in a side street away from the main thoroughfare but this was easily reached in approx 10 minutes slow walking. The staff were friendly and well informed and took exceptional care of everyone. Excellent hotel.
