I stayed at the Bewleys Hotel once before flying out from Dublin Airport, its a great location if you chose to fly from Dublin and live quite far away from it. The double room we stayed in cost around 69 euros for one night, this is reasonable when you look at it from the point of view that travelling to the airport will be much easier the day after and also that your holiday begins a day earlier by staying there. The room was clean and tidy and quite modernly decorated, there were two large (well big enough) double beds in the twin room and a small sitting area, the bathroom was clean and had a shower and a bath in it and had a few little treats like shower gel and a small sewing kit in it which I always like when I am staying in a hotel. There was a decent sized tv in the room that had a good range of channels that catered for all ages including sky tv on it. There is free internet access in your room which is handy for the business men and women and also there is a choice of having a smoking or a non smoking room which may be helpful to some guests. There wasnt that much loud guests, as it was mostly travellers and businessmen who were staying in the hotel and the staff were really helpful when we needed them. We got room service when we stayed here but it wasnt that good, we ordered a plate of chips that werent cheap and afew sandwhiches that we could share between us but by the time it had arrived the chips were really cold so that kind of ruined the fun of room service for us. The hotel offers airport parking for 1 euro an hour which is really good compared to the airport prices depending on the journey length and resident parking costs 8 euro for 24 hours. There is a free shuttlebus that goes between the hotel and the airport for guests in the hotel and the hotel is just minutes away from the main terminal in the airport. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel and will be staying again with them the next time I want a relaxing break or am flying from Dublin airport. ***Also on ciao.uk under name lorrainek90***

Good value 3-star hotel very convenient for Dublin Airport.

Bewley's Airport Hotel is one of four Bewley's Hotels in Dublin city. Like all three of their other hotels it offers exceptional value for money for a fairly up-market 3-star hotel. The beauty of this particular Bewley's hotel is that it is very convenient to Dublin Airport, (about one and a half miles) and thus very handy for people paying a "flying" visit to Dublin (simply stopping over for one night to catch an ongoing flight) or for country people from Ireland who have a very early morning flight to catch and don't want to get out of bed at 2AM in order to catch it! Lots of people also use the "Park and Ride" facility to Dublin Airport that the hotel offers both residents and non-residents. You pay Euro7 per day to use their car park, (Euro8 from 1/4/2008) and this includes a free bus service to departures, and a free journey back on your return. If you're staying in Dublin for a longer visit then you'd probably do better to look at one of the Bewley's hotels nearer the city centre, in Ballsbridge (see my review) or their original city hotel in the Temple Bar district of the city centre. Bewley's Airport Hotel isn't at all handy for accessing the city centre and is a wee bit out in the boondocks. It will take you a good half an hour to drive into the city (outside of rush hour) and it isn't particularly well serviced by public transport. A taxi to the centre will cost you at least Euro15 and most likely nearer Euro20 to Euro25. (Depending on when you travel) Bewley's Airport Hotel is the newest of the Bewley's chain here in Dublin, opening for business around 2006. It's also the largest of their hotels, and at only Euro89 per night (Euro99 from 1/4/2008) per room (double occupancy) offers exceptionally good value for money. (Dublin hotels can be *VERY* expensive) The rooms are standard 3-star fare; en-suite bathroom and toilet, iron and ironing board, free tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press, telephone and fax, in-room safe, TV, and free internet connections in every room. There's a good restaurant called "The Brasserie" that is open for breakfast, and then from 12.30PM until late for decent snack food and light meals. I've eaten in it often, and can especially recommend their full Irish breakfast at a cost of Euro11. (Breakfast isn't included in the room charge, by the way) There's access to a full menu at the Bewley's website. (http://www.bewleyshotels.com/dublin_airport_hotel_dining.asp) The public areas are clean, bright, airy, and modern with very comfortable seating, and there's a good bar. Of course, you can always be assured of a very nice cup of coffee, as Bewley's main business is importing and manufacturing fine coffee that is famous world wide. ********** © KenJ March 2008 **********
