The Amari Palm Reef Resort in Koh Samui is a luxurious, minimalist style resort in Chaweng.
The rooms are in padoga style cabins and are very Thai in style. Some cabins have small upstairs areas which are ideal for families and the bathrooms are spacious. Included is a wetroom which you will use a lot - the heat here will have you wanting to shower a couple of times a day!
The resort has two swimming pools. One is on the beachside and has a swim up bar and beautiful water feature. It is one of the loveliest pools I have ever seen. From this pool you are just a few steps to the stunning Chaweng beach. The hotel have loungers for guests' use on the beach.
The second pool is across the road, but Amari have road traffic patrol officers who will stop the traffic for you to safely cross over. This pool isn't as swish as the first one but tends to be quieter if you are looking for a peaceful swim.
Breakfast is fresh and I highly recommend it. It is served buffet style and there is a choice of many western items such as eggs and bacon as well as fruit, rice and cereals.
We did not dine at this hotel but there is a trendy "bed" bar within the hotel which was popular with some of the younger guests, who seemed to enjoy lying down to have a drink!
The service here is of a very high standard and little touches, such as umbrellas available in your room and at certain locations on the property in case of a rainstorm add to the high quality of this property.
