Ordered a shelving unit and coffee table online, received order confirmation email with stated delivery date of 3-5 days, 7 days later receive an email saying courier made multiple delivery attempts and goods have now been returned.
I was at home all week and no delivery attempts were made ! Their website states if delivery attempt fails a card is left so you contact courier, no card , no delivery attempt . Emailed "customer service " and got told I will not be able to have the goods delivered.
My story is far too long to write but suffice to say that this company shouldn't be touched with a barge pole! If you want sleepless nights and anxiety, stress etc. then by all means go ahead and order but you do so at your peril. I have never ever had such awful customer service in my life (im a pensioner now unfortunately!!) Everytime I ring the matter seems to get worse. Maybe we should all get together and contact Watchdog!!!
I ordered a Coving kit called Regency. There are only two types on the website Regency and Classic. They sent Classic.
I tried to phone on numerous occasions and e-mailed twice a day.
Eventually I got through after a total of three hours waiting in a queue.
They assured me that another would be sent. It was. It was Classic again. Repeat phone calls and they sent yet another set of Classic. Three times they sent the wrong item even though it is clearly labelled and they had both in stock correctly numbered. They gave me a refund and refunded the lower cost of the wrong item.
Unbelievable incompetence and not one of my e-mails was ever replied to.
This really stinks of an unhappy worker in the warehouse, doing it on purpose. How else could they send out the wrong item three times?
This company has serious problems. Even the TNT driver laughed when I received the third order. "Par for the course from the Range", he said, "Surprised you've received anything at all."
I wish I had read the reviews before buying online from the Range. I placed an order for 3 items of bedroom furniture but only received a partial order of 2 items. I contacted customer service twice via email and received an automated response to say, they would be dealing with my request and would respond within 48 hours. Suffice to say they didn't respond and I was simply ignored. They finally responded only when I opened a case with PayPal to recover my money..
For a household name, their online customer service is terrible and needs to be sorted ASAP. I won't be buying online from the Range again..
UPDATE - Got my money back through PayPal, no apology from the Range though - Absolutely Pathetic...!!!!!
Bought over 50 photo frames from The Range in Ipswich this week, god knows what possessed me to buy them there but I was close by and needed them so dutifully took them home. Most of them had peelable sticky labels on the back which came off easily but around 10 of them had black cardboard backs with massive price and warning stickers on the back which were a terror to get off and removed the top layer in doing so leaving and ugly white tear on the back. I dutifully took them back today where a rather lowly minion said they could not take them back as they could no longer sell them as they were damaged - duh. I tried to explain nicely to this dimwit that this was the reason I was returning them. getting nowhere fast I asked to speak to someone in a higher position and she telephoned the manager and went off to brief him no doubt on his way down. He was of the same opinion damaged goods sorry cant sell them so not taking them back. I asked him if he bought a fridge with stickers on it and it took the surface off when he removed them would he be happy.no he replied but that would be on the front, the damage here is on the back it will be up against a wall......great answer eh? Armed with a phone and their names I rang head office customer service who dutifully told me the decision laid with the manager there was nothing they could do about it if the manager wouldn't change them...I think Visa may have a different answer
I ordered 5 pieces of bedroom furniture on 27/04/15 online from the range website.Had my confirmation email and estimated delivery date 7-14 working days.Cut long story short the 14 day delivery span past, still no furniture.I called customer service was fobbed off, waited another week as suggested by customer services still no furniture!! Called customer service again was told there was problem with warehouse distribution but problem was solved and my furniture was now a priority order and would be deliverd within next few days.Guess what?Still no furniture! Ended up waiting nearly 5 weeks for this furniture and nothing! The final time i called customer service to find out what was going on was told they have no idea!! On that note i cancelled order and got refund after couple days.Tbh couldnt find many customer reviews on the Range and i am normally pretty good when ordering online.I took a chance and it backfired, never again.Ordered exact same furniture from another website Cheaper delivered in 3 working days...STAY WELL CLEAR OF THE RANGE...COWBOYS
Under no circumstances should you ever order aything online from the Range. The despatch waiting time quoted is 7 -14 working days, which is a joke anyway. However after 18 working days they still couldn't tell me when they would be despatched. In the end I had to cancel and make two 40m mile round trips (yes 80 'bloody' miles) to buy them again.
You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And to cap it all I receive two emails asking me to review something I had not received.
Ordered and eventually received 5 door wardrobe on 2nd February - paid a professional to build it on 7th February. Informed Customer Service door damaged - sent photo and also gave part number. Ringing every week get a different answer each time, was even told that the supplier was not aware then told will be with me week after easter. Rang yesterday was told will be here next week - we shall see but very mush doubt it. Wrote to Head Office no response would e-mail Chris Dawson but cannot get correct email for him but not even sure that would help. Have previously purchased on line with no problems. Not sure what has happened to their Customer Services...

I think a rainy day might have just about rescued me as a customer of The Range as my visit today at the branch at Parkgate, Rotherham, was a million miles from our first experiences of the stores in general.
I haven't been in any of The Range stores for a few years because I started to associate them with out of control jumble sales of clutter to suit every occasion. You couldn't find anything because the stuff was just crammed anywhere it would fit and the whole effect was grubby and cheap - and while we all want a bargain, cheap and nasty is something else completely.
However, it seems my nearest store has undergone something of a makeover. We were only there as our plans had been ruined by wet and windy weather so we decided to do a little window shopping instead, but what a transformation. The various departments were clean, well presented and set out and there was a very good range of stock to choose from from the cheap and cheerful (not nasty) to the better known branded goods.
The well-stocked arts and crafts section had me itching to return to my former hobby and there was so much to choose from in the home accessory department that I actually felt inspired to go home and spend the afternoon stripping wallpaper from the lounge (although the inspiration didn't quite reach the scraper once we got home!).
Even the hamster could benefit from our visit to the store as we spotted a few things for his home too and a lovely member of staff went out of her way to answer our questions about them.
The Range is definitely reinstated as one of our 'go to'stores as a one-stop shop for a wide range of goods.
Please do not bother using the online order service for The Range. I ordered a console table on 17 January 2015 and received a confirmation e-mail stating that it could be up to 4 weeks to delivery. Fine. I waited, nothing happened. Continually e-mailed their customer service department and telephoned their 0845 number to absolutely no avail. They freely admit that their is no communication with their warehouse whatsover and they have no idea when or IF you will ever receive an item you have ordered. Also admitted that they send chasing e-mails to the warehouse when a customer complains but all e-mails are ignored!
Absolutely dreadful company and customer service department that would appear to be overrun with complaints. I finally gave up hope of ever receiving my order and cancelled it on 9 March. When you call to cancel you do get the feeling that it is a relief to them and they make no effort whatsoever to stop you cancelling.
Astoundingly awful online service - you have been warned.
Please avoid at all cost. Ordered a coffe table four months ago online. I had to chase them constantly for update. despite informing me the glass for the table was broken in transit they still delivered the broken glass to my residence. Still chasing them for a refund and asking them to pick up there damaged product. I will not even comment on their online customer service. Most terrible and appalling customer service ever.
I often shop instore so thought ordering online would be no issue. Ordered 20 items from them, had an email saying 2 had been dispatched...only 1 arrive so I called. I was told that the item was out of stock and they were confused why I wanted a refund (they did however refund me) I asked when my other items would arrive and they have no clue as their system does not allow them to track orders could be days, weeks or months they said! So here I am weeks later waiting for news and hoping that they will one day arrive. Avoid shopping online with them the poor guys at customer service are great but powerless as they say the company refuses to invest into the broken system.
Ordered two curtain poles before Christmas. They arrived with one end on both poles damaged. I immediately Customer Services who asked for a photograph. I did this and received an email to say that replacements would be sent and the damaged ones would be collected at the same time. It is now three weeks later and despite numerous emails saying that the items are being delivered and despite waiting in all day on two occasions, the items have still not arrived. I have been lied to and fobbed off. The Customer Services specifically told me that they had spoken to the supplier and that my item was being delivered that afternoon. I asked for the courier's details and was told that they are not customer facing. It turns out to be Royal Mail! (So that was a complete lie). I was given no tracking number. I phoned again to see where the items were as by 5pm they had still not been delivered and was told that they would get onto the supplier and ring me first thing the following morning with an update. No phone call! I have opened up a dispute with Paypal for a refund. I will not be dealing with The Range again. Very quick to take your money. I hate liars! I have given this a one heart rating, but ideally, it should be zero.
Is it possible to award - score. Ordered a coffee table 3 months ago constantly called and emailed. Promise to call back never fulfilled. eventually a table with shattered glass was delivered last week. Still chasing to have replacement delivered. Worst online shopping I have ever encountered. Please avoid this company does not deserve any custom at all.
