Bought for£50, fitted and didn't work, triton trying to charge £68 for their initial inspection, to fix in excess of £200......you people are a disgrace!!!!!
Do not buy this rubbish!!!!!!!
Looks like complaints with Triton are never ending. All you have to do is do a quick search and bang you get a list of cheated consumers.
I have faced a same problem, I purchased shower in July had it fitted end of July. It was fitted in a where there is a ensuite shower was used less than a handful of times. Plenty of cold water with good pressure but would not heat called plumber who fitted ( in the plumbing industry for over 20 years) told me it was most likely 99.9% was heating element. He confirmed he sees this a lot with triton showers should have taken his advise prior and installed a Mira or aqua much more reliable.
Called out triton, engineer came was told it was a part needed replacing. Asked him what was cause was told a number of reasons and most likely to product fault. Did not explain any thing else we went out a few times to the garden not sure what he was doing. Didn't explain anything or offer paperwork to explain what was completed.
To my shock I recieved an invoice close £100 due to customer fault as hose was kinked. The shower was used less than a handful of times hard to believe. Complained to triton and there attitude is your fault just pay our bill or else.
I believe triton has no intention of honouring its warranties, just a way of fleecing customers of hard earned money. How can you justify £100 for a 20 min job. I could have gone out and replaced the for that Amount of money.
The first Triton lasted well, but finally leaked down through the cavity wall and damaged the wall paper on the landing, which meant replacing the whole wall with new wallpaper. A new replacement shower, I was told by customer services, would fit exactly the pipework of the old one as it was just an updated model. But it didn't fit and my plumber had to adjust the incoming pipework.
The shower gets limited use. I live on my own and often work away from home for several days, at a time, so this shower was hardly over-used, yet in less than a year, there was water dripping from underneath the shower. Then the on switch refused to stay on most mornings, and several weeks later, it actually jammed in the on position so that the water wouldn't stop flowing, which is scary. A few days after that, the seal around the pump burst and then there was lots of water.
Calling out the Triton engineer, he said that the shower had been plumbed in wrongly, which my fully-qualified and experienced plumber strongly disputes. Another plumber I asked also agreed that there was nothing wrong with the way in which my shower had been connected, and that it conformed fully to the instructions on the Triton leaflet that came with the shower. Nonetheless, the engineer replaced several parts and was here for nearly an hour, which was fine by me for only £99, parts and labour included. But when he left, he said it would happen again, because of the wrong plumbing. It will be the last Triton shower for me.
We previously did not have a shower in our bathroom, just a standard bath which when you've got girls in the house is not ideal for washing long hair in. A power shower was in desperate need, as we had tried using one of those shower attachments that you simply screw onto the taps and that proved useless as it would fall off of the taps because of the water pressure and the shower head would hit you on the head when it fell off the hook. We decided to just go ahead and buy a power shower as the situation was getting pretty ridiculous. We bought our Triton T80si from Homebase for around £80 but it was a few years ago so I realise that the price will have changed.
We had it fitted by a relative of ours, as alas, we are terrible at DIY, and didn't want to have to pay a ridiculous amount to have it fixed if we messed it up. It was fitted within a day with some tea breaks in-between, and was up and running without any problems.
It has heat settings that go from 1-10, 1 being freezing cold and 10 being scalding hot. I think this could be rather dangerous if there are young children in the house who could climb into the shower and switch it to 10 and scald themselves. I don't think it should have a setting that goes that high, its ridiculous. Who showers in scalding hot water anyway? The colder settings on the shower are good for when you've just washed the bath and the cold water helps give the tiles and bath a nice shine. It has 3 settings for water pressure but you might as well just use the highest setting as otherwise it takes ages to shower.
The metal cord for the shower head became unravelled after a couple of years, revealing the blue pipe inside, so we had to have this replaced for fear of it leaking, and the shower head has to be cleaned every so often in a bath of vinegar to get inside the shower head and clean it of grime, but I would do this with any shower head.
A couple of months in we have discovered that every so often, you get into the shower and it will seem to be running as normal, and then it will either gradually turn very hot or very cold, and sometimes it's not even gradual, it will just change immediately. This is very irritating as you have to constantly jump away from the water and wait for it to either heat up or cool down. Often the water will only go between freezing cold and very hot, and this is not fixed by simply turning the shower off and on again. This is very frustrating especially in the morning when you just want to jump in the shower before work quickly and you have to wait for the water to cool down or heat up all the time.
I guess you get what you pay for, and next time I will probably pay a lot more and install a proper fitted bathroom. It is usually quick to use but it has a habit of playing up. Its also quite ugly and gathers dust on the top of the box so you have to clean it all the time. Would not buy again.
Our old shower which was in the house when we moved in packed up a few weeks ago. It was far from brilliant, but it worked reasonably well till its death. I wanted to save money so I went to b&q and bought a Triton Cara 8.5kw shower. What a massive mistake! It does heat up the water alright, but the temp regulator might as well have been replaced with and on/off switch. The eco mode does make the water luke warm at best, while on full power its either so hot you can't stay underneath it or stone cold, nothing in between. An absolute waste of money, I'm going to bin this (reading through some of the posts there's not even any point in calling those jokers) and I will buy some other brand instead. Triton never again....
Had a Triton shower installed November , is now pouring water all over my bathroom . Called customer services , after 10 minutes answered and told I would be called back . After an hour I ended up calling them back .
I now have an engineer coming in 10 days , earliest they could do with me actually being in the house , so no water without having to turn on/off at the mains .
These people need to make a reliable proudct or employ more people to mend their shoddy products .
They have forgotten I`m the customer and should work around me , not the other way round .
I emplore you , do not buy a Triton shower . Poor product , even worse `customer service `.
I have e mailed the customer services and left my thoughts on my recent experience . I also left my number if anyone wanted to call me back . 2 hours later , no call .
I only gave them 1 star to get review published . If I could give minus stars they would have received 10 .
I paid £350 for a Triton Shower a year ago and have had an engineer out 4 times since I bought it! The Riveria Sand model has buttons which keep getting stuck so you cannot turn the shower off. The buttons have been replaced but have broken again. I contacted Triton and asked for a replacement and they offered me one that is half the price of what I paid with no refund of any money! I am still arguing with them about it! They offered me an extended warranty on my shower but I don't have the time to keep waiting in for an engineer when my shower breaks every 3 months! Bad quality, bad service from Triton. Would never use them again. They think that they can fob me off with a product which is half the price, what is the point of having a guarantee at all!!
Replaced a 10 year old Mira shower with a Triton Ivory 4. with a 2 Year guarantee. Has one visit fromTriton after one year and then second just as guarantee expired. Fault was overheating. Tritons engineer said pump not working, it doesn't have a pump. Low water pressure. Triton had asked us to measure water flow, for a minimum of 9 litres in one minute, ours did over 20 litres in under one minute. Engineer said hard water scale, we live in a soft water area. Burning on connector block inside shower, pardon, never had that problem with Mira. Casing cracked and someone has tried to glue it!!!, just a minute, we cleaned the bathrooom yesterday and it wasn't cracked. You can't use the shower. So Triton have charged us £68 for a callout plus £30 if we don't pay immediately. Triton are a joke, give them a wide berth.
Triton, NEVER EVER AGAIN, MIRA OR SHOWEFORCE IN FUTURE.
Recently on 10-Oct-2011, I bought one Triton shower (casselona II) direct from Triton shop of ebayReceived on time but 1 part missing and other damaged, mailed them got the part deliveredBut right after 4-5 days shower started leaking, emailed them but no reply (by that time had already left positive feedback on ebay). phoned them and spoke to customer service. Right after hearing that its leacking she said leakage is not covered under warrentyWhy? because its not and if you want us to send someone It will cost £68Its brand new shower just started leaking from inside and they are not taking responsibility, no return , no service, no advise, no replacementNever ever go for this Triton, Its rubbish and customer service is rubbish and rude
21 Sep 2010, bought Triton shower number 4 - yes 4 in 5 years you would think i learnt mylesson. It broke - true to form 19 Jan 2011. Triton told by me of problem - they said they would honour guarantee and fix it - in about 3 weeks - funny thing i looked back over last 3 years - still the same response time? PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR SELVES A FAVOUR DO NOT BUY THEM ANY MORE - i have learnt my lesson and i am buying mixer power shower. Ps, there Area manager Paul Dawson - and his customer service dept were rubbish.
Do not buy a Triton shower. We had a T80SI
Approximately 2 weeks ago I was having a shower when I noticed the front of the shower unit was melting. The white plastic was going brown and disfiguring. The gap between the front rear covers was opening up. In view of the risk of water getting inside the unit and potential risk of death via electrocution I switched it off and haven't used it since.
Based on the fact that the unit was only repaired about 8 months ago I rang up Triton "Service Department". They advised that the guarantee on the repair they did was for 3 months only and for them to send an Engineer out, it would cost £ 75.
There is either a serious fault with these showers or the Engineer visiting my house did a bad job in repairing the shower only 8 months ago.
Have a Triton topaz 80si - i say i have one, it is the fourth replacement in 3 years and again it the boiler component part that has blown. It is now getting very expensive calling engineers out at £90 a pop, and triton refuse to acknowldge there is a problem with their product. Never ever buy a triton product agai. Now got to find a decent shower with similar attachments otherwise will need to find new tiles for bathroom that was retiled, yep you guess 3 years ago.
Had Triton showers for years now. Just upgraded to an "inscriptions aqua" 9.5kw unit. VERY UNHAPPY with performance. We paid 180.00 plus fitting, hundreds more to upgrade the electrical supply to 10mm and then for plastering. Its not as good as the old one! Water flow and shower head very poor. The internals look just the same as the previous one. Were 100's of pounds worse off now and with a shower thats (just) adequate. Rang their technical team who were totally politically correct and uninterested. Last Triton I will buy. Spend your money on another shower. Shame, it looks lovely but doesnt deliver the goods or water.
I on my third Triton shower in 5 years, the second being a warranty replacement. This one is now playing up and I can wholeheartedly concur with other reviews about poor manufacture. Triton used to be a good name so what the hell has happened to them? Their only saving grace is their field engineers. The chap that replaced my original one was friendly, courteous and effecient.Alarm bells should have rung when he advised me to keep the old one for spares (minus the faulty part). Needless to say I shall not be replacing this with another Triton product.
I have just had a Triton Dart II thermoststic concentric mixer shower fitted for £308 and wow! what a shower.
Firstly the shower is very stylish in chrome and looks very chic.
Secondly it is very easy to use:- to start the shower all I have to do is turn the On/Off flow control fully clockwise and to stop the shower just turn the control fully anti- clockwise. To adjust the showering temperature all I have to do is rotate the temperature control - clockwise for cooler and anti-clockwise for hotter. Simple.
However, the best thing about this product is that it is child friendly. By that I mean that it is fitted with a maximum temperature stop set at 38 degrees centigrade - so it is perfectly safe for children to use. This maximum temperature stop can be overridden at any time by depressing a button at the 12o'clock position and rotating the temperature control past this central position.
Other features include:-
A thermostatic valve that ensures that the water temperature does not vary by more than 1.5 degrees centigrade of the setting selected.
There are separate flow and temperature controls.
There is an automatic shutdown if either of the hot or cold supplies should fail and the spray head has three different positions.
There is also a 5 year guarantee.
I have found that apart from being very easy to use there is a excellent spray of water in all 3 setting from the showerhead.
A great shower and well worth the money. Highly recommended.
