“ Trolley which folds down to the size of a briefcase yet, when fully open will hold shopping, laundry, books and toys etc. Lightweight, highly durable, with smooth-rolling rubber wheels which aim to cope with all sorts of terrain „
This little trolley saved my back! It is made of quite sturdy plastic and is easily put up and down for storing away safely. It holds lots of things and can be trundled around very easily. The handle is of just the right height for a medium sized person and I found that the best way to use this is to drag it behind you. I found that if I tried to push it in front of me that the handle sometimes went down. It has handles on the main bit of the trolley which means that you can wheel it to a car boot, pop the handle down and lift it in. Much less lifting and much much kinder to your back. It holds lots of things. I used it for carting books backwards and forwards, but I can imagine that it would be a really useful bit of kit for anyone wanting to pop a small shop load in. They are also much better to look at than the tartan shopping trolleys that was my alternative! The only negative in comparison with those shopping bags is the fact that there isn't any way to keep your stuff dry if it is raining. I think this is quite easy to get around though if you put your things in a plastic bag first.
Lakeland plastics do come up with some very good ideas and I think that the Funky Trundle ( AKA foldable cart ) is an excellent idea. Up until I saw the Lakeland funky trundle on their website I never even knew that such a thing existed, I have certainly never seen a cart like this on any of my travels. So, what is the Lakeland Funky Trundle and what can you use it for ? The Funky trundle is a collapsible rigid plastic box on wheels with a retractable handle, a simple idea that can make life so much easier. Lakeland have made a plastic storage box and they have fitted a sliding handle to the back of the box , the box will fold down and the handle will retract for easy storage. When the trolley is folded down it is no larger than a briefcase and when it is opened up it gives you space ( The plastic trolley box is 15 inches wide by 13 inches high and 13 inches deep ) to carry heavier objects around either indoors or outdoors. The handle will slide up and down easily and you adjust it to the height that you need it to be. The Lakeland Funky trundle box is in two tone blue plastic and it is very durable. The plastic box can either be wiped or washed over with ease. There are two strong rubber wheels that sit at the back of the trolley to enable you to push, pull and steer. The handle is made from a lightweight alloy and again this is easy to adjust to the required height. This Lakeland trolley will withstand weights of up to 55lbs so it seemed a very sensible purchase for my Mum who often struggles to transport things up and down the length of her large garden. I had already suggested that we bought her a second shopping trolley to use outdoors but she is a very logical woman and Mum thought that a normal shopping trolley would be useless, she wouldn't be able to put plants into it without spilling the soil or crushing the foliage. However when she saw the Lakeland Funky Trundle Mum soon changed her tune ! Lakeland have this on sale for slightly under £20 and it just had to be worth paying that if Mum could retain her independence. Pushing or pulling proves to be far less of a problem that lifting or dragging. Mum does suffer from arthritis but she can still manage to push and pull the trolley quite well. I have noticed that she has bound the handle with some strips of soft fleecy material ( probably an old jumper!) to make it warmer to hold and I am hoping that the modification will not up the insurance premiums! ( jesting here ) Lakeland have given the trolley rubber wheels and this helps the trolley to grip the ground. The trolley will easily run over the wet grass and allow Mum to move her pots and garden tools around with ease. Mum is more than chuffed with her Lakeland Funky trundle cart and I have only touched the tip of the iceberg as to what the trolley may come in useful for. In the home it would be so useful for moving heavier objects ( books, toys, dirty washing!) from A to B. When we bought the Lakeland funky trundle box we bought a pack of two covers at the same time. Now the covers have been slightly less successful. In the packet you get one grey plastic cover and one clear plastic cover, they are both waterproof. But the covers are fairly thin and one of them has already started to come apart. Maybe Lakeland could look at the possibility of making some thicker waterproof covers. But the Funky trundle is a fabulous idea !
I have one of these foldable carts and it really is the most useful trolley. I keep it in the boot of the car so its ready at all times, handy for the beach just load it up with all you need. Got lots of tins when you have been shopping no problem. Garden centres:you can get a least 4 large pot plants in and once you have them back at the car just push the handle down and your precious plants are safe on the journey home. I could go on but you get the gist it is so versitile and sturdy it will easily fit into your life, your cupboard and the boot of the car, I even popped the dog in when she hurt her paw and took her to the vets! Needless to say I recommend this trolley every home should have one , I am glad mine has
