As a film lover, a home cinema system was one of the first things i bought when i oved to my first house. After looking in shops and on the internat this one caught my eye. The biggest selling point for me, was the size of the speakers. Very small and light in weight compared to some other systems, ideal for fixing to the wall. It is also a powerful system with each speaker being 40 watts and the sub being 100 watts. For my small terraced house - ideal. Once all plugged in and speakers positioned it was time to play. The menu is easy to use and the sound can be setup very well. It has an option of setting the distance of each speaker from wher eyou will be sitting. The sub also has a volume control, which can be quite rare. With a built in AM/FM radio and numerour inputs, it is a small system, with alot of options.
Home cinema kits, where do you start? The basics of it are realy quite simple, to try and re-create what you get at the cinema. Some systems are quite good at it and others not quite so good. This one is my first and current, I picked mine up for £200 brand new as I was owed a favour but you can expect to pay up £400 depending were you go but it is well worth investing. You geta brand name in Sony, style and class as standard. but you get loads of features with it like it will do your zoom, different angles ect ect, but for you techies out there it plays sacd ( super audio cd's ) cds which are sheer class to listen to and cost around £30 - £ 50. its also plays in dts ( dolby theatre surround ) depending on dvd. So it has plenty of features to boast. But what counts is quality of sounda nd picture, well on both counts it good, not exellent or not bad just good. Good enough for stanard tv set up ect. What you get before i go any further is 5 speakers which consists of 1 which " speech " comes from, then two which go at the front and two of which go behind you and your sub woofer which give's you your bass, that rumbling sound when aeroplanes take off, exposions and stuff like that. The sound from this system is quite good, sometimes though the sub woofer cant handle pro-longed bass and variations in bass as i experienced with XXX, and some other action movies but over all good. The picture is class, i appreciate more because it plays on a widescreen trintron tv which helps, but its very sharp and colours are true. The wires which are supplied are long enough for any living room or bedroom for you rich people with big mansions so dont worry!! Overall for what i paid i am laughing cause its the biggest brand in the world and has all functions dearer models have and looks the buisness and plays good. Ive had mine for about 10 months and have had no problems what so ever, if your looking for and home cinema kit but on a budget ( or even if your not ) the n honestly go for this one i rate it very highly, it really is quality. Beware though 5.1 cinema kits are going out as " newer " 6.1, 7.1 and even 8.1, which is kind of what cinema's use ( count speakers on walls ) are coming out in spring summer 2004. any question or queries at all give me an email and i'll get back in touch!!!
