“ Brand: Mamu / Type: High Chair „
When I started looking for a high chair I was really suprised at the prices some of them are. I found this one in Argos for £25 and liked the idea of it having more than one function.
It can be used as a high chair where the seat clips on top of the base.
It can be used as a low chair (without the base).
Just a chair by removing tray.
A table and chair (not using tray).
Or simply just a table.
It has a 5 point harness, this was essential. It is easily loosened and tightened but on the downside you have to pick the harness up from the bottom of the seat ( no holes over the shoulder so you can put the arms through), so when you put the child in they end up sitting on the harness and it's a bit fiddly to get on.
The tray just pops on and off with minimum effort so very easy to clean.
My favourite thing is the ease of cleaning. There are no nooks, crannies or creases for food to get stuck in so it wipes clean quickly.
My son started using a booster seat for meals at 14 months so I am glad I didn't buy a very expensive high chair as although they say they last until 3 years, that depends if your child is still willing to use it then. But we now use it as a table and chair for playing with things like Play-doh as it has the perfect surface for cleaning, and when he is a bit older it will be great for cooking.
It doesn't fold up to save space so really you need the space to keep it up at all times. A 8 legs are removed easily but this is a bit too much to do everytime you want to use it.
My only other negative is because it is just plastic I had to tape a small pillow to the head space when my son was smaller as when he stropped he had a habit of throwing his head back and banging it and as this chair has no cushioning it hurt! But he grew out of it so it was just for a short while.
Overall a brilliant price for a high chair that will last longer than a normal one due to its other functions. It shows no signs of wear and many covered ones get splits or rips in the plastic making them look worn. I am keeping to use with my new baby so it will be around in our house for a good few years yet!
I have two boys aged one and five. I had a material blue winnie the pooh (i believe it was the hauck make, but I cant remember 100%). It was a nightmare to clean, even though the covers were 'washable with a damp cloth!' so second time round i was adamant i wanted a plastic high chair!
At first I was a little sceptical about the product as being plastic it didn't look too comfy. But as it was only £15.99 (through Argos clearance) I thought well, bargain, ill give it a go.
The tray is removable and it has a five point safety harness. The product is 99% wipe clean with ease, as its plastic, with the exception of the straps which clean well, but are material. Sometimes i find that food goes into the little grooves where the straps pull through, but i find easily cleaned with the nozzle of my vacuum or with warm soapy water and a toothbrush.
The high chair its self was incredibly easy to assemble literately just clicking into place. It has three settings, high chair, low chair and then converts to a table and chair. When used in the high chair position, the table part makes a very handy 'storage shelf' (handy for wipes, spare spoons etc- so much more convenient and possibly more hygienic than the baskets on some high chairs. The chair is incredibly sturdy and strong in ALL positions.
We currently use the high chair in the 'low chair position' with my one year old in and i bought a cheap childs chair to fit by the table where my five year old sits! The boys love eating next to each other, drawing together and playing with each other.
The only disadvantage of this chair is the fact that it doesn't fold flat for storage, however with the amount of versatile use it gets in this household its pretty much always in use.
I just had to write a review on this wonderful 3-in-one highchair. I was searching the internet for a highchair, but I didn't really want one that has a padded seat. This is due to the fact that both my daughter and daughter-in-law have lovely looking Chicco Happy Snack chairs, but the amount of crumbs, grated cheese ect.. it seems to attract under the padded seat.
When I first spotted this chair I wasn't too sure, as it looked very basic and not that comfortable, but for the price they were asking I thought I would give it a try as I could always send it back. I actually purchased this from Argos Outlet@ebay for a mere £16.00 which is crazy money.
On delivery I couldn't wait to unpack this chair and I wasn't disappointed. It comes dismantled so apart from the actual bucket type seat the rest is all flat packed. The 4 silver legs for the bottom part of the table have a push in button near the top, this then pushes into the holes at each corner of the table.
Next you push the four other silver legs into the table top and then again with each leg having a small button to push in you sit the chair onto these and click the buttons in hey presto done!!
This chair has a 5 point harness and has an indention between the legs that the tray fits into. The tray just clips on each side of the chair. So the child is nice and safe and could not possibly fall or get out. When my grandson first used this chair he was around the 6 months mark and I did put a soft cushion on the back of the chair to make it softer and also to support his head, but having said that I only done that for a few weeks and when he was a bit sturdier he sat in it as it was.
What I love about this chair is that I can wipe it over with antibacterial wipes and know that is is completely clean instantly, without trying to get under padding that is connected to the chair. I know these padded seats can be removed, but from my experience they can be a bit tricky and time consuming. Where with this one it is instantly clean and we need to save as much time as we can when we have a youngster to look after!!
The other big plus for me is that where I also have another grandson who is now 2+ I can just unclip the seat from the table, which takes seconds and he then has a table and chair to sit at for his meals or when he is drawing or painting. Again this can be wiped over and clean in seconds.
We have also used it as just a low chair when we have had picnics in the garden as this is the right height to feed your child while you sit on the grass.
Recently we had a large family holiday together and we only needed to take this highchair, which saved a lot of room for the mums and dads in their cars (we all know how much you have to take for babies and toddlers if you go anywhere!!) as this flat packed in mine.
Both my daughter and daughter-in-law are now thinking about getting one of these chairs for future babies.
Coming in a lovely aquamarine colour this highchair will take the weight of a child up to 20kg, I did notice that beneath the seat it actually says Mama and Papas so I'm not sure if this is actually made by them.
I strongly recommend that anyone loooking for a sturdy, very washable and versatile highchair considers buying this one!!!
I was looking for a cheap high chair (we already have one that lives at my boyfriends flat and needed another for my house - quite a complicated living situation, hopefully to be simplified in the next few months!) and came across the Mamu 3-in-1 Plastic Highchair in Argos.
I bought the chair around 6 weeks ago and paid in the region of £25, it was on sale at the time but has been reduced further to a bargain £17.99.
When I bought the chair, I hadn't noticed that it had a variety of uses, I liked the look of its style on the Argos website and the price jumped out at me when compared to others. Ikea do a similar chair at a reasonable price (used at grandmas!) but it really wasn't worth the drive to Warrington to pick one up, or to pay the delivery costs.
I ordered the chair on line for in store collection. The transaction was swift and I was able to collect the chair less than an hour later.
Once removed from the cardboard box the chair is quick and easy to assemble. You basically pop the silver coloured legs in to the various holes and click into place, attaching the aquamarine chair, with white tray to a supporting aqua marine surface (the chair I have is definitely green in colour, the one depicted here is blue!).
It was at this point that it became evident that the high chair was more than a high chair!
The supporting surface that makes up the lower half of the chair is actually a table. The chair rests on top of this and can be un-clicked to form a low chair - the tray can then be easily removed to allow the low chair to sit under the table, allowing the child to eat from the table as opposed to the tray - great for when baby gets older.
When my son is so inclined, he will sit in the low chair with the table in front of him and play with toys. I have a couple with suction pads, as the table is plastic they stick on well and provide a good 5-10 minutes of stimulation!
The low chair is also a goof height for sitting in and watching Waybaloo! The secure metal frame is extremely sturdy, with quite a large rectangular base and will withstand lots of movement and banging on the tray. The chair does not wobble or move at all when used as a low chair or a high chair. There is plenty of room for baby to move around and bend his legs etc but it would be impossible for him to get out.
It goes without saying that a child must not be left unattended whilst using the chair.
The chair does have safety straps which thankfully are removable which makes for easier cleaning. As there is no fabric whatsoever, there are no areas for the food to gather meaning that the chair can be cleaned fully and with ease. This aspect is so refreshing, it is a constant struggle to keep his other high chair clean!
The assembled chair is fairly light and can be moved around without too much effort. It will support the weight of up to 20kg. My son is currently 11kg and appears to find it very comfortable.
It also comes with a 1 year manufacturers guarantee.
I would highly recommend this chair, extremely versatile, safe and great value for money. My best purchase for quite some time!
