I would buy it, i got mine for £20 i would have spent more on it though, good quality docking statio

I love this radio, it is perfect for everyday life Positives: The tinted glass 'door' - It is of a nice quality, it looks good in almost any home, the fact that it is tinted mean you cant see the 'Iphone/Ipod' inside, this makes it look expensive, the fact that you havent got some forgein object poking out of it looking odd, its the same case with the CD. The speaker - They are attached to a long wire which mean you can put them in two different places amplifling the sound, the sound quality is very good. Also the volume button has a blue light behind it which makes the mood of a room so relaxing and calming It doesn't have any cheap, tacky plastic bits that could break off of it at any moment It has a small hole where you Iphone/Ipod can fit into, I have heard many people complain that it is too small, but they havent realised on the left there is a small 'leaver' which tilts the slot forward allowing you to put the Ipod in very easily, so this shouldn't be a problem, very easy to use!! Disadvantages: When opening the sliding door it creates a noise, not overly loud, but if people are asleep then it may disturb them The 'signal wire' that helps to pick up the the radio signal, isn't bad, but if you have poor signal in your home then it may not pick up many stations or could be very broken and 'crackly'. It just something to bare in mind, because you may have to put it by a window to getyour favorite stations

Best ipod speakers ive come across

After just being paid I went straight into Argos to buy a new iPod touch along with all the gadgets I could get. This iPod dock being one of them. I've had it for several months now and do not regret this purchase one bit. I spent a lot of time flicking through the pages searching for my perfect dock and came across this beauty for £60. I wasn't really interest in the technical bits like the volume and what not, being the girly girl I am I wanted something to play my music while looking pretty. In my opinion, pretty is definitely a word suited for this dock. The main part of the dock where the CD and iPod are placed glows a beautiful colour blue when turned on with a screen in front of it which rises and lowers with a click of a button. The speakers can be inserted with a long wire which allows you to spread them apart if desired. The cables aren't very long to reach across a room but enough to give the sound some variation. The lead going from the mains to the dock isn't annoyingly short for me but probably suits most people. This is mostly because the mains in my house are awkwardly places behind sofas and beds I'm sure for most people the shortness of it won't get in the way. CD player The CD player does exactly what it needs to do. The CD is placed in upright with the screen down to allow it to play. I love the way that you can see the CD go round as the screen is see through. You are provided with a remote to control the music as well as button on the button of the dock itself. However, after about a month the remote stopped working even when I replayed the batteries as well as the 'next' button stuck awkwardly in the dock so difficult to skip songs. IPod player Again it's the same as the CD player. The only problem I have with this part is that it's difficult though not impossible to put an iPhone or iPod touch into it as the small hole more suited for Nano's. However, once in it still plays your music with no problem. Radio The only big disappointed I have with this dock is that the radio is pretty rubbish. The thin wire coming out of the back is the areal which isn't easy to position to get good signal. I've never been able to get radio 1, the only station I listen too (though still rare). I would still recommend this dock however as most people would probably buy this mostly for the CD player and iPod player rather than the radio. It looks very attractive in my opinion and seeing as its lasting several months in my dump of a room where technology comes to die, id say its durability is great! It's lived through many falls and the speakers are constantly on max and haven't broken. A great purchase.

        Overall great dock

I first purchased this items a couple of years ago. I wasn't really that aware of this kind of product so I only bought this for its look rather than its speakers or capability for different ipod generations. ***Cost*** I got this product from Argos for £59.99, however after looking around on Amazon and some other sites, I see that I was obviously lucky as they are now going for around £70 and above. ***What it can do*** This product has the ability to play CD's, the radio and any generation of ipod. However, I found it difficult to put and iphone or ipod touch into it as the small hole where it should be placed is more suitable to the slimmer ipods although it is possible and does still play the music. The docking station is very easy to change the song with either the buttons on the ipod, the station itself or a handy remote. The CD player was just as impressive with no problems that I have come across yet. The see through casing allows you to see the CD going round which I know isn't very important but still very cool. To get the CD in, there is a button on the bottom that you press so that the lid can go upwards. The lid must be closed for the CD to be played however, it can be open or closed in order the music from your ipod to be played to allow you to scroll through it. I never really got much of a chance to use the radio. I think it was this feature and only this feature that really brought the product down. There is a small tangly wire that comes out the back of it that you have to twist and move around like an aerial to get it to a radio channel and in all the time I have had this product I have never managed to get it bang onto a station. There seems to always be a crackling sound and you end up standing on one leg with your arm outstretched in order to get the wire near the right position. There is a small screen on the corner of this docking station where it first shows you whether you are on the ipod, CD player or radio. Once turned off it gives you the time and when on the CD player it shows you what song you are listening to. The buttons on the bottom are: ON/OFF button, function button (to change from ipod to radio for example, CAD/ memory, previous song, sound volume knob, next song, play/pause and finally open/close the lid. The buttons are quite annoying to press as sometimes they get stuck and have to stick your nails in (if you have any) to release it. The sound knob also irritates me as you have to turn it to a click to make it go down once. Its not a big problem but id much prefer a different style volume control. *** Its appearance and sound*** If you look at a picture of this product, you can probably see that its quite slick looking. The blue light especially is my favourite part as it adds a bit more coolness to this product. The speakers are unattached to the main body allowing you to move them around the room about an arms length away or can be changed for larger speakers if necessary. For me, the speakers work just fine and are loud enough for house parties or playing full blast music in your room and good enough quality as well. ***Problems*** Maybe its because of the occasional time that I have managed to drop it but the lid sometimes goes down on its on accord. It doesn't get in the way too much but can be annoying when you've got your hand stuck inside the change a CD or song. Sometimes when charging my ipod and playing music at the same time, the music will pause on its own accord and decide to remind you that you're charging it by changing the screen on the ipod to the charging screen. Not a big irritant but can be embarrassing when halfway through bellowing a high note at the top of your lungs. ***Overall*** Out of all of the ipod docks I have seen, this is by far my favourite and would encourage people who are looking for this product to consider the Goodman's ipod and cd player. Its quite expensive but worth the quality and appearance. Thanks for reading!

I was so glad that i purchased this as it is really good. Its nice and thin and has a good sound quality to go with it. You also get a number of adptors with it so you don't have to worry that your ipod may not fit.The only drawback with the design is that the speakers are not connected to the unit so you have to hang them seperately.Would reccommend it to anyone!

This player is perfect if you don't feel like shelling out £100 plus for ipod dock and speakers.

The Goodmans Ipod Docking System is a fantastic piece of equiptment. I purchased this player through Argos at a bargain price of £59.99, similar music systems can cost around £40 to £50 more. I had been browsing every website and shop for a docking system that would allow me to listen to my favourites tracks direct from my ipod but also my large cd collection (which ive not fully converted onto my ipod nano as yet). Everything I found was either out of my price range or did not include a cd player. Finally stumbled across the Goodmans ipod docking system and after checking out the specifics, I made a snappy purchase. One of the high points of this player is the sound quality which is not affected by the low price. It is clear and you don't need to turn the volume up the highest level in order to hear a song properly. The design is very sleek and features a plastic cover which slides down so your ipod/cd are packed away discreetly. The controls are easy to use even for someone who is not technically minded. I have had no problems as yet and I hope this continues.
