“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Breath Freshening Spray / Dosage Form: Spray „
This is one of those products which I never leave the office without! Due to the nature of my work I am quite frequently thrown into situations where at short notice I need to go into high profile meetings and present to or engage with various stakeholders. On these occasions confidence is everything and this is where having a breath freshener in my bag is essential. I like this Tesco one because it is fairly compact and reasonably priced, you can pay a fortune for strong, medicinally marketed sprays but this is a simple small cannister (containing 12.5ml) which costs around £1.15 off the shelf. You will find this in the same aisle as mouthwash, toothpaste and other dental products. The other reason I particularly like this one is that although it is definitely minty (a spearmint type of flavour) it is not overbearingly so - some sprays can almost numb the mouth with their strength but while this one definitely freshens the mouth and gives confidence it does not burn with intensity! I find that the effects will immediately rid your mouth of any other strong flavours and scents (onion for example) leaving you with a fresh and neutral feel. Personally I carry this in my handbag so it is with me at all times, the effect is immediate and because it is a quick fix it is very handy for spur of the moment situations, I tend to nip to the loo and use it and have always found it to be a confidence booster and exactly what I need to make me feel more professional. I imagine smokers must have to use this kind of product all the time and I would recommend trying this cheap and cheerful Tesco variety rather than paying much more for big brand names.
I'm rather OCD when it comes to teeth hygiene, I brush after every meal and I floss once a day as well as using mouthwash on a regular basis. I also carry a breath freshener in my bag at all times for those occasions when I cannot brush and one of the ones I use is this Total Care spray from Tesco as it is very effective and excellent value for money. It is priced around the £1.20 mark, I forget the exact price and you get 12.5ml of product for your money which works out at a lot of sprays. What I like about this spray is that it acts as an anti bacterial spray as well as giving a minty blast to my mouth it also helps to neutralise bad odours caused by bacteria in your mouth. The lids fits in place with a reassuring click and I have never had any problems with it falling off while in my bag and any of the contents leaking out. The spray delivers a precise mist of spray and a couple of squirts is more than enough, in fact most of the time one is enough, it is only when the contents are getting low that I find the need for a second blast. I can certainly taste the minty flavour in my mouth and like a lot of mint products there is a slight tingle on my skin especially on the sensitive tongue area. It certainly does a good job of freshening up my breath especially if I have eaten spicey food for lunch which contains garlic or onion. Whether or not the anti bacterial action has any effect it is impossible to say but the minty blast is always welcome. To be honest there is nothing that I can find fault with when it comes to this product, it is cheaply priced and does the job so it gets a full five stars from me. I tend to get through one of these every five to six weeks so it is a small price to pay and lots of good value in it.
Oral health, one of THE most important parts of any one's daily routine. There are very few things worse than finding someone attractive only to find they have continuous bad breath. Everyone can suffer from garlic breath from time to time but a lesser known yet equally offensive pong is coffee breath and since we all have joined the American craze for coffee since that coffee franchise has clowned itself around every corner of the globe I'm being greeted with coffee breath several times a day. Now I will occasionally partake in a coffee especially if I'm half asleep and have to be somewhat human for a particular task. But so I don't become one of those said coffee breath bandits I carry this handy breath freshening spray by Tesco. This is called the Tesco Total Care Freshmint Breath Freshening Spray to give it its full title. The 12.5ml spray comes in a compact metal cylindrical container with a White plastic lid. NOT the one pictured above, I have never seen this available. There is a tamper proof strip around the rim of the lid to ensure you that nobody has tried the product before you. This is actually important to look out for as you'll be surprised how many of them have this missing as customers try it out in store. To use it's very simple, just pop of the lid and aim the pump towards your mouth, open wide and spray a couple of times towards the back of the throat. The product is realised in a strong one directional fine mist and easily coats the mouth. The taste is of a very strong minty flavour. I like but I would not describe it as tasty. That's because it's not meant to be. It's refreshing, cooling and strong. My breath is minty fresh after just one use, however you will need to reapply as it wears off after around an hour, or even less. I don't tend to notice it myself but I had a girlfriend that also used it, and I would notice when it was wearing off on her. Not that she had bad breath not at all, but I'd just miss the mintyness that's all. This is a good little product, it freshens the breath straight away and is small enough to have with you at all times. Thanks for reading :0) 2night. This can be purchased at most Tesco stores for £1.14
I have had some problems with one of my teeth recently and this has lead to even higher mouth hygiene than normal. This means that in addition to brushing twice daily, flossing once a day and using mouthwash twice a day I have also begun to use a breath freshening spray, particularly if I am going to seeing clients or visiting the dentist. This just helps me to feel more confident about my breath and the overall freshness of my mouth. The packaging of the freshening spray I use is different to the one pictured. The packaging is a very simple cylinder container and contains 12.5ml of liquid. There is a lid that removes easily and with minimal pressure and this sits flush with the spray itself which is good for hygiene when stored in my bag. There is a small press down dispenser and this releases a fine burst of the spray. I usually use two, sometimes three sprays and I spray it on to my tongue generally. This freshener works very well and from the moment it hits my tongue it has a fantastically fresh minty taste. This minty flavour reminds me of that just used mouthwash feeling which makes my confidence increase instantly. This freshness lasts for a little while depending on whether I eat or drink something. The flavour of this spray is definitely minty fresh and I quite like it, it is strong without being overpowering but if I accidentally get the spray under my tongue rather than on it then I find that it can be a little uncomfortable and almost gives a light burning sensation. Overall I really like this breath freshener. The cost of this is cheap and because I do not use this numerous times a day and just when I feel I need to be sure of having wonderful breath it lasts me a month or two each time. There are a lot of sprays in this little can and it can be recycled too. The price of this is fantastic at just over £1.50 (well it was last time I purchased it) and this lasts for 12 months once opened before needing to be discarded. I have never had a spray last this long as I use it regularly but it is worth the money for me anyway.
~Fresh minty breath in a flash~ ************************ The range of Tesco Total Care dental products includes their Tesco Total Care Freshmint Breath Freshening Spray which is a product I have used in the past and found to be reasonably effective when used over the course of the day when away from home. At times when cleaning my teeth after eating has not been an option I have used the spray as a quick fix, in order to feel the fresh minty just cleaned my teeth feeling that I like. Whilst this spray is not an alternative to using a mouth wash product or cleaning your teeth regularly it can be used with a degree of success at times when you just want a quick minty fix. ~Ease of use/ price~ **************** Price wise the product used to cost just over £1 to buy for a small purse or pocket sized 12.5ml spray. This can last quite some time depending on how many times you use the product and how many sprays per use you are inclined to use. I like a more minty effect and tend to spray a little more of the product when I use it which is why it doesn't last as long as it would if I kept to a strict one spray per application routine. In my opinion even a single spray of the product is enough to give a fresh minty effect that does last a short while, however on the whole I prefer 2 sprays as a minimum as it gives a slightly longer lasting effect which I find pleasing. The size of the product container is just right to place in a pocket, or bag and it has an easy to take off and put on lid that works well to give a good seal. The spray action is good and it is easy to simply press on the applicator to release an adequate amount of breath freshener. The product is sugar free which is a feature I like, yet it still manages to give off a light and fresh feeling effect with a very slightly sweetened mintyness to it that works well. ~Rating~ ******* Whilst the sprays effect doesn't last for more than an hour or so, I feel it does last long enough to freshen your breath just enough after having eaten spicy or strongly flavoured food and it works well enough for me to give it a 4 star product rating. Value for money when comparing the price of the product to other similar breath freshening sprays is also good in my opinion, which is another reason for the 4 star rating I have given.
I am quite fanatical about cleaning my teeth, which I follow up with a strong mouthwash, as I simply adore a fresh minty taste in my mouth. However, as I am not able to chew gum due to an intermittent problem with a rather annoying and painful clicking jaw I regularly use breath freshening sprays. Whilst I am not a smoker I sometimes feel a little conscious of my breath particularly if I've eaten a strong smelling food at lunchtime when I'm away from home. I have a passion for raw onions, but obviously I don't want everyone else to witness their aroma! A product that I have been purchasing for several years is one belonging to Tesco and is named Total Care Freshmint Breath Freshening Spray. I made a product suggestion to Dooyoo and provided them with the above-mentioned photograph. However, I would advise that this is the old style packaging, as Tesco have since changed the shape of the container. APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT As Tesco had changed the packaging I found it somewhat difficult to locate on the supermarket shelf when I needed to replenish my stock, as the spray is now contained within an 8cm high cylinder shaped metal container measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter. I would always find the version as shown above, much easier to detect amongst the array of products on the shelf. In my opinion Tesco have made a mistake in changing the packaging, as the new version doesn't look as eye-catching, particularly as the majority of the container is white with a few fresh looking green swirls located on the right hand side. The familiar Tesco logo is situated in the upper section with the words "Total Care" running the length of the container. We are provided with 12.5ml of breath freshening spray, which has been hygienically sealed with a small piece of transparent plastic that covers the rim of both the white plastic lid and the upper section of the container. There is a little information of the reverse where we are informed that this is a "minty deodorising spray with anti-bacterial action to leave your mouth feeling really fresh and clean". MY OPINION OF USING THE SPRAY The lid is easily removed and fits tightly back onto the container after use, so you have the assurance that it will not dislodge when stored in your handbag or pocket. The spray easily releases from the dispenser where I find that two short presses are sufficient when a fine mist will cover the majority of my tongue allowing a pleasant tingle. The freshener is most definitely fresh and will provide you with a gorgeous minty taste identical to that of a mouthwash and give you fresh breath confidence. I find that the lovely minty taste lasts for approximately half an hour, which I feel is average and similar to that of other mouth freshening sprays. Whilst I love the strong taste of mint my husband absolutely hates it, as he found that it gave a very slight burning sensation to his tongue, which made him pull a face. The only way I can describe its' intensity is almost as highly flavoured as an extra strong mint and I always keep one of these sprays in my bag for those occasions when I am unable to clean my teeth. I'm not going to discuss how long the spray lasts, as obviously this depends on how many times you use it. Whilst I use my spray occasionally, I find that it tends to last me a couple of months, so in my opinion it is excellent value for money. This product may not suit everyone, particularly those of you who do not favour strong minty tastes, as it is rather powerful. OTHER INFORMATION The spray should be kept out of reach of children and used within 12 months of opening. The container can be recycled once empty. There are a considerable amount of ingredients in this spray and for obvious reasons I do not intend copying them into this review. However, I would advise that the freshener contains alcohol. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY Tesco Total Care Freshmint Breath Freshening Spray is available from Tesco stores and at the time of writing (February 2011) it will cost you £1.14 for a 12.5ml bottle. As this product will provide you with fresh breath confidence and has a reasonable price tag it receives 5 stars from me. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
