I bought these headphones fairly recently as a cheap second pair and wasn't expecting an awful lot from them. The design is nice, I like the grey and they are quite comfortable when on and fit well, very lightweight also which I prefer. Only problem with the overall design is the headband, it feels quite flimsy and I am quite reluctant to put them at the bottom of a bag for fear it would snap, however as of now it has been sturdier than that it appears. The sound from them have been great and is perfect for my needs on the occasional commute to work, the sound is crisp and at higher volumes it holds the quality. I have used them on my mobile phone, laptop and desktop computer, the performance is sufficient for my needs and I have no complaints over the quality of output thus far. They did seem to perform slightly better on my mobile and laptop though than the higher volumes of my desktop computer, but as I didn't primarily buy them for use on that particular device I am more than happy with them. I have had no problems with the headphones and I would recommend them for casual use around the house or when out, someone wanting a pair for professional use would maybe find them not quite to their needs but then I doubt these are being marketed for that. In terms of quality output for the price, then these have for me anyway, been just right.
An absolutely staggering pair of headphones for the price - Euro3.70 from my local Euronics in Abruzzo, Italy. Stunning definition and frequency response requiring only a slight tickle on equaliser to compensate for a slight lack of bass response. Very lightweight - don't sit on them as I did once thus resulting in the purchase of second pair! But then at that price it wasn't such a disaster. I would thoroughly recommend them in fact I can't praise them enough. How on earth Philips managed to produce them at that price such that retails could then sell them at a profit is completely beyond me. They're actually better than my twenty year old Technics SB series headphones which back then cost me £70 (Euro84)
These are good, cheap, headphones for about $20 AUD. The bass reproduction is remarkable. I often have trouble finding a pair of headphones that fit my head, and these do it comfortably, with room on the adjustable band to spare. The ear pieces are supposed to have some sort of comfortable fit design. I didn't notice anything awkward about their fit, but I can't say I felt any benefit from it either. I love their beige look, but they could be a little more coordinated. The head band is silver, the ear frames are beige with a dark grey centre, the ear pieces are black, and the cord is grey. I'd have preferred all beige. Also, the head band feels a bit flimsy. Other than that, great value for money, and perfect for late night DS playing!
