The Monster Beats by Dre give studio quality performance for every day, on-the-go use. The quality is crisp and balanced, with effective noise cancellation. Whilst they come at a cost, the quality is undeniable.

A classy set of gear for any music enthusiast

There are a lot of people who are staunchly opposed to Dr Dre Beats preferring other brands as they do not see the point in spending so much money on a pair of headphones. My argument against them is thus:

-The headphones give one of the greatest listening experiences for music ever. Especially good if you enjoy music with a heavy bass and strong beat. Notable people to listen to are of course Dr Dre but Wiz Khalifa as well.

-Comfort is top draw. As you can see from the photo, the padding round the ear is soft to the touch and you never feel like you are going to get 'cauliflower ears' like some other brands. At the top of the frame is extra padding to avoid rubbing your hair away.

      - Style- Look at them, they are just plain class. Although I have mine in black which I feel will not get so dirty!

Decent headphones but far too expensive for the average joe.

Okay so before I start this review I must say, these ARE a bit of a gimmick for the price... They're highly expensive when in fact you can buy better sound quality headphones for the same price if not cheaper. Nevertheless these headphones are sure stylish and do draw quite a bit of attention.

I treated myself to some beats earlier in the year, I ordered them off amazon and they came promptly. I was so excited like a kid on Christmas day so I ripped open the packaging and there they were in their box, which is very nicely designed however bigger than I had expected. So I opened the packaging and was greeted with the headphones, very stylish and swanky. Installed the batteries which was simple enough to do and I was away. I have to say these do go extremely loud and remain decent sound quality although the leakage is absolutely ridiculous, half the room can hear what I'm listening to... This shouldn't happen.

Anyway so after around 2 weeks of having them I decided to return them, I found they looked silly on me because they are so big, something you may want to bare in mind but it is all down to personal opinion. I also couldn't cope with the sound leakage, it was awkward being on busses knowing the whole bus could hear my music blasting out. If I wanted that I would've bought a boombox. As I said though these headphones are very stylish and if you're after style and decent audio quality they're for you. If you're after PROPER professional headphones though these certainly are not for you and I recommend you look elsewhere before you even consider them.

Overall I'm giving this product three stars, 1 for ease of use, 2 for style and 3 for decent sound quality. It's been let down by the noise leakage and the VERY expensive price tag!

Worth the price if you appreciate good sound quality

I currently own a few Beats/Monster products and I find that they generally produce very good quality products.
I originally bought the Beats Studio headphones which gave out an excellent sound quality however the build of the product was not very good at all. I felt they were very fragile and eventually they did break which was ridiculous due to the price that was paid for them.
I did not want to rule Beats out completely as they did produce an excellent sound quality. After much research and opinions off friends, I eventually purchased these pro headphones. Although they again were on the pricier side there is not one part of me that regrets buying them. These headphones give out an incredible quality of sound with amazing bass. They also feel as though they have been built to a much higher quality compared to the studio's.
A good feature is the fact that you are able to choose whether you have the audio cable in the left or right side depending which you find more comfortable. Unlike the studios you also don't have to use aa batteries, no power is required at all.
I have one main issue with these and it is more my fault for purchasing the white ones but any little mark can be quite obviously seen on them. There is however the choice of having black ones which if I could go back in time I would definitely purchase instead.

It is also very nice that they come with their own leather look pouch/sack to keep them protected when not being used.

All in all I highly recommend this product if you are willing to pay the price however do keep in mind that the white ones really do show up the slightest mark.

Decent pair of headphones which are very expensive but worth it at the same time

These are the first pair of real good quality headphones I ever brought, I love them. The quality is out of this world, absolutely amazing. I always listen to my favorite music through these and they boom out all of the bass of a song straight through your ear drums and it makes you feel like the artist is in the same room as you playing the song as you listen. Each instrument in reach to the ear, every beat, every single beat. Beats pros are just amazing, the way you can fold them up, change the size of them, etc, very well thought out. The price... now the price is a bit much, but I would say they're worth it. If you can't afford a brand new pair get a pair of good conditioned ones on Ebay, they're just as good as long as they're no internal problems, it's a great buy and I recommend, bare in mind the white ones do get more visible marks on them than black ones, so just remember that.

Don't bother, get Bose QC15s instead

Many of you know I'm not a fan of the Beats Solo HD. The listening experience doesn't match the price in my opinion. I'd heard better things about the higher end of the Beats range, so tried these out.
First up, the size. They are at least twice the size of the Solo HD, which is fine if you're at home, or at a desk with a computer. But on the move, with your iPhone? Not so great; they're simply too bulky. A huge positive is they do feel extremely well built, which is more than I can say for some rival headphones of similar price.
The design is better than the Solo HD, more metal and less plastic can only be a good thing, but these are still distinctively Beats, so they'll look good with your Hollister gilet and sweat pants, which seems to be the standard uniform for posh students round here.
Now it all falls apart. The sound quality, whilst a much better improvement over the Solo HD, which I thought had a muddy, jumbled up sound caused by way too much bass, still suffers from being too bass heavy. The treble and mids are clearer than the Solos, but nowhere near the clarity you'd get from, say, the Bowers & Wilkins P5, which I would say offer the best sound quality for headphones designed to be used with mobile devices. However, these are over £100 more expensive than the P5, so I'd expect them to be better. They do offer active noise cancellation, which the P5 doesn't, so realistically the nearest rival is the Bose QuietComfort 15, which I happen to own and believe are the best noise cancelling headphones on the market.
The Beats noise cancellation is poor at best. You cannot use the headphones without it activated, and when the battery dies, so does the music. However I will not deduct marks here, as many similar products, including Bose QC15s, also do this. Where they fall behind the QC15s is that they don't cancel out half as much ambient background noise as the Bose ones do. Whilst no Active Noise Cancelling headphones offer 100% noise reduction, the Beats system is particularly bad. It wouldn't even drown out the noise of the fridge in the work staff room, which many cheaper headphones do no problem. Furthermore, the Beats Noise Cancellation means that when no music is playing, there is a distinct audible hiss, which is bad if you wish to use them purely to block out noise. The Bose QC15s have no audible hiss, and so can be used simply to block out unwanted noise.

So overall, a poor showing from Monster/Beats. While better than the Solos, they still have too much bass, which destroys the listening experience, the noise cancelling is inadequate and produces an irritating hissing noise. At £350 they are far too expensive, and for £50 less, you are far better off with Bose QC15s, which have better overall sound quality, and the best active noise cancellation on the market today.

they sound great just make sure they fit your head!

the monster beats by dre are some of the best sounding headphones i have aver used. the have crystal clear treble, monster shaking bass and everything you could want in between. it was cool how you could wash the ear cups and protects if you needed. they were white so they would get a little discovered if you used them alot. i produce music in my spare time and i needed headphones that would give me great sound, and these headphones delivered however, these monsters seemed to slide off of my head (which is fairly small) i tried adjusting them and even the i could not get them to stay snug on my head. it wasn't too bad, but i like to get in the groove of the song so i move alot. i had to learn how to sit really still when i listen to my music. they are wireless so you don't have to deal with the hassle of annoying cords. they are made of aluminum and will not break easy. they aren't cheap but they are sure worth the money if they fit you!

Best-looking headphones on the market, good sound but over-priced due to Dre's name

When you open up the box, it's pretty exciting and a very cool affair. Any teen (or cooler adult) would be pleased to receive this as a gift set, I am certain. You get the headphones themselves, two 3.5mm cables - one is red and that's for MP3 players and the other one is black with a built-in microphone and a 'ControlTalk' remote for iPhones/iPods. You also get an aeroplane adapter and a small adapter for use with your stereo at home. Also included is a hard carry case with a thick climber's clip attached. Another extra is a cleaning cloth to wipe off the greasy marks that these phones are prone to pick up. The headphones are noise-cancelling if you flick a switch on the right earcup - this feature needs some standard batteries but luckily, some come with the pack. I was surprised to be told that these headphones do leak some sound so you can still expect some annoyed glances from other bus-users if your volume is up too high (which it shouldn't be if you want to protect your hearing!).

The design of these earphones can be compared to some much much cheaper £50 Shure ones I have seen online. I think that Monster Beats have the edge though - they are very sleek and actually very comfortable. The ear-cups have a swivel mechanism for extra comfort. I find it very cool that on the outside of the right ear-cup you can depress the red 'b' logo for mute! That's extremely handy for when you bump into a friend in town or for when you are buying something at the till.

Interestingly, the cable on these earphones is made of steel. I listen to mainly punk, indie and alternative music and these are great for these genres. The bass is deep and powerful. You can buy good earphones for half the price of these, of course. I suspect that you are paying for Dr.Dre's name. Not a bonus to me as I am not a hip-hop fan, as a rule! I must admit that the design was a big pull for me. I was delighted to find that these earphones actually stay on my head as the grip is ok even for smaller heads. This has been a big problem for me in the past. The ear-cups are very squashy and comfy, it has to be said.

These earphones are a big investment and I love the look of them and am very happy with the sound. However, you can get other good quality phones online for a much much cheaper price. It's your call...

a great product but unless you work with music you could probably downgrade to the solo's

Right so everyone has been and still are going crazy for beats and ive had beat products for a while now and decided to review my pro studio's.

          Sound
No doubt the sound that comes from these in my opinion is great and i cant complain at all the base is great and no matter how loud it goes it doesnt lose the quality in sound which i find amazing. They block out all other sound which depending where you are could be a good or bad thing. In the house in a safe place GOOD. Walking across the road not so good. I dont think you get the full potential from these unless you use them for the correct uses such as if you do actually create music in a studio. If you dont then maybe the solos are better for you as they are a bit cheaper and still give a good sound (although not as good).

          Look
They look great as everyone knows they have a stylish design that is recognized by a lot of people however the studio's are very big so not so portable which is a shame which again is why i would recommend the solo's if you are just an everyday user to listen to your ipod.

          Overall
a great product but unless you work with music you could probably downgrade to the solo's but cant fault the product.

a good pair of headphones but there is much more out there for half the price.

beats headphones have become something of craze recently within the UK at least so i though id grab myself a pair to see what all the hype ios about. there's no doubt that all beats products look good. there are better looking headphones out there but i wont complain. the first thing you need to know is that although these are good headphones for all music they were origionally made to sound best with rap and pop music explaining the whole dr Dre thing.

these headphones, more than any of beats other products feel more sturdy and quality built. the other, cheaper beats headphones i tried in store just felt a bit flimsy.

most importantly of course, sound quality. if your paying £350 for a pair of headphones you want them to deliver in terms of bass. and it certainly does. i dont have a single complaint about the amount or cleanliness of the bass.

i think beats are quite much like apple in the headphone market though. now they have a name for themselves as 'the best around' which i can tell you right now they are not. they can charge whatever price they want for a products with the same specs as a products more than half the price.

Really incredible sounding headphones that are stylish but expensive and really common to see around

These headphones are truly incredible, they are comfortable, stylish and the sound quality is superb. The noise cancelling feature is really quite a strange sensation; when you turn it on, it feels like you have just been plunged underwater, with all background noise filtered out - slightly disconcerting but a nice feeling.
I really cannot fault the sound, its top notch, though these headphones do allow for everyone else to hear your music too, not so good for being on a full morning train.
The only thing I would say is that the headphones are pretty expensive at 279 quid, and there are lots of other cheaper ones on the market, but the style and brand are what you are paying for here so if thats important it may be worth it. There are also cheaper beats by dre models that are less bulky (these are pretty big, though they do fold up in quite a nifty manner). It is also a bit annoying that you have to replace the AAA batteries every couple of weeks because it runs out. But these things are minor when you hear the sound, which is really quite perfect.

Also, be aware, everybody in the world has these headphone so if you are looking for something a bit unique, I wouldnt bother with these.

          If not...definately do.

If you want to listen to music and look great doing it these headphones are perfect for you.

I woudn't normally go for these type of headphones as i usually like having earphones that i can hide nicely into my ear. However, since trying my friend's pair of these i couldnt resist them. The actual look of these headphones are what i think to be the best looking and stylish on the market at the moment. They show of a modern look that all the celebrities seem to be wearing.
The actual quality is also something that shows off the hefty price tag. They really are great for showing off the music with a rich bass sound that swallows you in the music. They allow you to hear every word and beat which allows you the best music experience. The large ear muffs also allow for a noise cancelling effect so that you can't hear the outside world. What is also a great feature compared to earphones is that if you like your music loud, no one around you will be able to hear it. This means you can listen to your music in peace with no distractions and people around you wont get annoyed. Because of this, these headphones are one of the best for using public transport and in busy cities like London.
These headphones come with a case so are very easy for travel as you simply fold them up and put them in the case which is hard so protects the headphones well.
I have found that these heaphones are better suited to medium to larger heads which allows for the best fit. Although they are adjustable at the sides, i have noticed they may not fit well on smaller heads. It is always best to try them on before you buy to make sure you feel comfortable wearing them.
These headphones are a fantastic little gadget for all music lovers and i would highly recommend them for their sound quality and portability.

Best headphones that money can buy

If you can afford it, these are worth every penny!

The Dr. Dre Beats cannot be topped by anything else out there right now. I don't know what they did to make these so great, but they really are the real deal.

I used these for a few hours in my friend's recording studio and it felt like I had a computer chip implanted in my ears broadcasting the music directly into my brain! It was that crisp and clear! I thought I had used good headphones before, but the Dr. Dre Beats are just in a while other category.

Super comfortable and the quality is amazing. Plus they look super cool and just make you feel like a true legit musician and/or producer.

I don't understand why lots of people that have no involvement in the music industry are using these for everyday headphones, as they are extremely expensive, but I guess if you are a hardcore audiophile there really is nothing that comes close so you may as well buy the best.

I can't comment on the durability, but I have not heard first-hand or read anywhere about anything negative about these so I am sure they am made to last for quite some time.

Again, if you can afford it there really is nothing that can compare to these so do yourself a favor and pick some up!

if you listen to rap music... you must buy these.

These are fantastic headphones for the person who is looking for ear muffs that sing to you.

They sound quality is higher than your average pair of headphones and they manage to find bass in places other headphones just can't.

Anyone who is in to bass heavy music would do well to purchase these headphones as they are capable of handling even the hardest beat with ease. Distortion is not a word that is in their vocabulary.

They are guilty of being heavily branded. I see these on the train all the time and occasionally smile at other people that have them. Its like being in a club. Get ready to lose your individuality but gain sound quality.

Great looking if you like the over stated approach. there are better colours than the silver you see hear but as far as overstated headphones go these are well...um.... understated?

              Great product

              Brilliant headphones worth buying

These headphones are high quality in looks, the way it delivers clean sound without disturbances or any fuzzy sounds, you hear the heavy bass uncompromised, making the headphones brilliant for rock outs !
The superior sound isolation is a brilliant feature, the precise fit of the headphones around the ear help block out any external noises for brilliant accuracy and the extreme clarity of the music you play, you get the heavy bass spot on always, good choice of material for the headphones ear caps, comfortable fit also.
The extra long cable which attaches your mp3/ipod to the headphones is of some serious length and in my case this makes the headphones even better because it enables me to have my ipod in my pocket and walk around listening to my music without the headphones being pulled off my head because the cable is to short, so this is a bonus, also the flexibilty of the cable is a good feature as it prevents from getting tangled up, so you can multi-task and not have to worry about getting tangled !
The cost of the headphones is a bit high but to be honest if your an avid listener of music and you take it quite seriously then these headphones are right for you !

              Best on the market

In my opinion these are they best headphones on the market and you cannot find better. The quality of sound and just overall quality of that has come to be expected from Beats headphones.
One thing i one mention is that batterys are needed for the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Pro Studio High-Definition Headphones which can be annoying and also fairly costly but when talking about the cost of batterys its not much when aking in to consideration the cost of the Beats to start with . This leads me on to the main bad point about the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Pro Studio High-Definition Headphones which is they are extremly expensive i payed out over £200 which many will see as to much but if you listen to music regularly on a daily basis and want the absolute then theres simply no better option than these.
The comfort of these are the best of any headphone's ive came across they fit perfectly for me and any of my friends who have tried them .

With many of they beats they can be foled up and put in a case which should come with the product.
