Earphones tend to be my preferred method for listening to music, as it means I don't irritate others with my choice of cheesy tunes! When my dog decided to use my previous pair as a chew toy, I was in need of something new. I prefer over-the-ear headphones, rather than the sort which plug into your ear, as I find those really uncomfortable and difficult to wear. I picked up this pair of headphones from Comet. I think I paid about £20 for them, which I thought was a bit steep, but with headphones you pay for what you get, and I wanted a pair that would be long-lasting. A quick check online reveals you can get them from Amazon for £12.99, which I think is a very fair price. The headphones are mainly black, with the pieces that go over the ears being silver. The headband is very slim, and the ear pieces themselves are also fairly small, so this is a pair of headphones that are quite discreet, and also look sleek and elegant. The size also means they are easy to transport around in a handbag, something which I know can be difficult with larger over-the-ear headphones. The most important feature of headphones is of course the sound quality, and I'm pleased to say that these deliver. They don't entirely block exterior noise, but do so enough that that the music is never drowned out by anything else, and it's excellent quality. The headphones are also very comfortable to wear. The headband is extendable, though I tend to wear it on the smallest possible setting. I don't have a particularly small head, so if you do, this may be a little too large for you. The ear pieces themselves are surrounded by a firm sponge for comfort, and they rotate to fit to your ear position. The left and right ear pieces are clearly labelled, so there's no confusion! I have had these headphones for almost three years now, and they still work just as well as they did when I first got them. The covering on the foam around the ear pieces is getting a little tatty, but given the length of time I've had them, that's not surprising, and I think they've lasted very well. They are compatible with Ipods, and most MP3 players. The packaging boasted of a gold-plated plug; I'll admit, I've no idea why this is a good thing, but I've included it in case it makes more sense to someone else! Overall, I'd definitely recommend thesel they're long-lasting and have great slound quality.
These are the headphones I wear nearly every day on my way to work. I used to have some other cheaper ones but they were giving me a right pain in the ear and I was looking for some that would be more comfortable and would fit right over the entire ear. I did a bit of shopping about and finally settled on these great ones from JVC. I bought them online for just under a tenner and I am over the moon with them. I was also drawn to the fact that they didn't look too 'girly' or feminine and that they looked modern and stylish - I may be getting on a bit but I still like to look the part! They came in a variety of colours and I got mine in a blue colour. I love the fact that the headband on these headphones is nice and sturdy and made of strong stainless steel. They fit well over my head and it is very easy to adjust them to the shape of my head (as I have a lot of hair) and also to get them to fit right over the top of my ears comfortably. Some headbands I find that they pop up at the top, but this band is fully adjustable and it allows me to get a perfect fit every time. My other half has also used this headphones and she was so impressed she bought herself a pair - in bright red! The sound quality of these headphones is also very impressive. They do block out external noise and the tone is not tinny but has a good sound quality I am very impressed with. Also, I have been told that even with my music turned up very high that no-one else is able to hear the tinny noise that some cheaper headphones can often emit to people standing or sitting close by you. They fold up well and the cable length is also considerably longer than my last pair were, so again, this is another plus point for me. They might look large when on my head, but this is the style I was looking for so I don't mind this at all. I am pleased and proud to be seen wearing them. They are an impressive headphone, give good sound quality and were a very decent price. Very impressed and highly recommended.
I tend to use headphones a lot, for a wide variety of reasons. Whether it's watching videos or listening to music or learning song lyrics for shows. I tend to do this a lot when I'm on the computer a lot, either relaxing or working. These headphones are almost constantly plugged into my computer. The earphones are rather comfortable, and fit over the ears nicely. The padding is fairly firm, meaning that do not hurt your ears, but aren't too spongy. The sound quality is also very good, allowing me to play things quite loud without any issues. The headphones are adjustable, allowing you to easily fit them over any sized head. They so have a few problems though. I find that the foam padding can move around while they are being used, meaning you will sometimes have to take the headphones off to re-adjust them, though this doesn't take too much time. They can also get slightly irritating on your ears if they are used in hot conditions. Both these problems seem to be more persistent if they are used whilst mobile, such as walking or exercising Overall, the earphones are of a very good quality, though it seems they are better suited for use on things such as a computer rather than being used as out and about headphones.
I've always been a fan of music and often listen to my favourite CDs on my iPod whilst I carry out the housework with my favourite being John Michel Jarre whose electronic music makes me work so much faster. However, my husband is always complaining about my tastes, particularly as I'm also a fan of bands from the 80's such as Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet. Whilst his choices could also be considered bizarre, as he's a 51 year old who loves garage music, it was necessary to invest in two pairs of headphones and although in our case they could be classed as anti-social, it was the only way to resolve our problem. Our choices were made during the late winter where we each made a purchase of JVC's HA-S150-BX Flats, which are suitable for iPods, iPhones and iPads. WHY JVC? To be honest, I really had no idea where to start when selecting a pair of headphones, as the last pair I had worn was when I was living at my parents' home many years ago and my Dad owned a huge pair belonging to Sony that he had purchased during the early 80's. Whilst they offered fairly good sound quality they were so uncomfortable and my poor ears would itch like mad for hours afterwards. The fact that we chose JVC was solely due to the fact that a little online research revealed them to be excellent value for money and the specifications suited our requirements, so our purchases were made. MY EXPERIENCE WITH USING THE HEADPHONES As my experience of what's good and what's not in the field of headphones is extremely limited I have to say that I was absolutely amazed at their appearance compared to what I had worn in the 80's. The narrow headband is manufactured from stainless steel, so we have the assurance that the headphones will not rust over time and hopefully prove to be a good investment. When situated in the closed position they measure only 17½ cm in height and 13 cm at the widest part, so they are ideal for transporting due to their compact size and the fact that they are extremely lightweight at only 68g. Whilst being small and measuring in at just 6 cm in length and 4½ cm in width, the oval shaped earpiece sections are of the perfect proportions to fit snugly over the ears due to their well cushioned inner areas. They are clearly identified with an "L" and "R" and are very appealing to the eye with their black glossy finish, which gives the headphones a high quality finish. The headphones can easily be folded into a flat position, hence their name and the ear pieces need to be swivelled at a 90 degrees angle ready for use. A huge bonus with these headphones is their lengthy cord of 1.2 metres, so I'm not strangling myself whilst walking around with my iPod, which is generally located in my pocket. The headphones are very comfortable to wear and are easily adjusted to fit all head sizes by simply pulling gently on the spring mechanism to lengthen the headband. What I love about these headphones is that I cannot feel the headband on the top of my head and the earpieces rest gently on my ears as opposed to the crushing tight feeling that the older style headphones would offer. The cord offers a straight plug, which has been designed to enable the headphones to be carefully stored without any damage. The sound quality is simply first class with their frequency response of 12 Hz - 23,000 Hz. I do not profess to be technically minded, so I have obtained the following two specifications from the reverse of their cardboard packaging:- Sensitivity - 105 dB/1mW Nominal Impedence - 32 ohms I can vividly remember my Father's old headphones causing me to suffer headaches as well as very hot and sweaty ears, particularly as the headphones were much too tight and very cumbersome. However, I experience no problems when wearing these, as they are so very comfortable to wear and do not cause any pressure to the user. However, through research I learned that we are advised that due to the strong spring they could cause a little discomfort when worn, but I cannot state that this is something I have experienced even though I regularly wear them for fairly long periods of time. I love using my headphones in the garden, as unlike one of my neighbours, I consider others when playing my music. The headphones are extremely durable and despite being used probably hundreds of times they are showing no signs of wear or tear. Replacement ear pads are available for purchase although this is not something that I require at the present time. OTHER INFORMATION There are a few do's and don't listed on the reverse of the packaging, which is a simple piece of cardboard with a sturdy plastic cover, where we are advised that the headphones should not be worn when cycling or driving. We are informed that the headphones conform with European directives and the relevant logo is situated on the lower section of the packaging. The headphones are easy to clean where I use a damp cloth and dry them with a tea towel. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY The headphones are available in a variety of colours and can be found brand new on Amazon from £8.75 for blue or £13.19 for black, which are the ones that I own. I cannot recommend these headphones highly enough and was pleasantly surprised that something so reasonably priced can offer the sound quality that I require. Consequently, they receive 5 stars from me. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
If your looking for a cheap pair of headphones then have a look at these I use these every time i go to the gym and even though they have been based a bout a lot them seem to keep working They look great and are comfortable for extended periods of time which are important to me I have used this product in the rain and it seems to hold up pretty well The sound quality is pretty good for a ten pound pair of ear phones but there are much better products on the market These earphones are easy to carry around and fit into any sports bad or pockets and are also very hardwearing I havent looked after this product very well over the last year and it is still working which is fantastic In conclusion this product is really worth its money and should give you at least a year or two of usage without them breaking They not only look good but are also very functional and the sound quality is also pretty good I would recommend this product to anyone looking to replace there existing headphones or buying a new pair as the quality is good and they are cheap Definitely worth a look
When purchasing a pair of headphones, the price factor will determine what sort of specifications you will have on the headphones. For instance, this pair of eight pounds headphones will not offer as good a sound dynamic as a two hundred pound pair of Sennheisers. That said, what you do get for your money here is a neat little pair of affordable headphones that look classy enough for most occasions. The headphones can be bougth online for around the eight to ten pound mark, making them one of the more affordable in the JVC range. When I tried these with my MP3 player, I was surprised that they offered a good sound quality, better than expected for the price. The inbuilt cushioned muffs actually allow the deeper bass sounds to penetrate the ear canal with precision and you will be able to eliminate a lot of external sound with these cushioned muffs. The comfort levels were also impressive and they would be ideal for taking on long train or plane trips. The hi end frequency arrives with a sense of urgency here and the low end frequencies hold up well with enough conviction. The headphones can be collapsed which is a lovely feature and one that suits me. I work with loads of headphones and recording equipment so being able to fold down your equipment is handy and keeps the office clutter free. The other highlight is the overly generous one metre lead, which allows you to trail it for a length into an amp or MP3 player. The gold plated jack connector further enhances the sound dynamic here. Not much not to like, a good price, good sound quality and stylish look make these headphones a fair buy for the customer looking for something at the lower price end of the market.
In the last couple of years, thanks to having a boyfriend who lived miles away, and, after he moved in with me, because of frequently taking long journeys to visit his parents, I've listened to a lot of music on trains and coaches whilst travelling . I used to have a really cheap set of in-ear headphones. I think I picked them up from the pound shop. They were awful - the soft spongy bit came off, the sound quality was rubbish, but worse than that, they gave me ear-ache every time I wore them. So, when it came to buying a new set, I decided that I would spend a little more money, and that I would get some lovely, squishy, over ear headphones, for maximum comfort on journeys. After a little browsing about, I settled on this JVC set . The price was right - under a tenner. Not only that , but they looked stylish and comfortable. I've been really impressed with these . I love the unusual look - available in a variety of colours, I opted for a bright red pair. I found the design quite retro almost, and the bright red looked very smart coupled with the black padding and the shiny stainless steel headband. These fit wonderfully - the headband is adjustable, which I quite like, as it allows me to sit these on my head nice and snugly without feeling like they are going to fall off. These cover my ears nicely, sitting just comfortably on my ears without pressing in too much, and the soft padding is extremely comfortable - so comfortable I have in fact fallen asleep with these on . I also find that the weight of these is about right - they don't make me feel weighed down in any way when wearing these . The sound quality of these is very good - sharp and clear, with no tinny tones or static noises. Even at high volumes, these retain great sound, where others have failed. Luckily, on the occasions I do want to have my music up loud, I find that these keep the noise in, meaning other passengers do not have to enjoy my taste in music - something for which I am sure they would be very greatful. I also appreciate the generous cable length - a little under four foot. This enables me to sit in my comfy chair at home with these plugged into my stereo, with enough room to change position . They also keep noise OUT well. I have been known to put these on to block out the noise of other travellers talking loudly on their mobile phones , or just to allow me enough peace to sleep, and I find that these help keep things nice and quiet for me . These fold flat to make them convenient for packing when travelling . I usually just sling them round my neck, but even when folded, I think these are rather bulky. They certainly won't fit in my small handbag, but will fit easily into my larger backpack. I think these are excellent headphones for the price, with the one potential disadvantage being their bulk , which may put some people off. Not me though - I'm happy to have these nestling on my neck walking about! 5 stars - a great pair of budget headphones with a great sound, a comfortable fit, and a stylish look.
