I've never seen a Candy Store Coin Purse before, but once I saw it I had to have a squeeze! They're rubber purses which come in neon colours and they have a cute traditional clasp closure. Now, as a 30 year old mother it's not something which is really going to be something I use - I need practicality, unfortunately, I need card slots and receipt areas and all sorts of stuff, and as you can probably tell, the Candy Store Coin Purse is a very basic coin purse with no bells and whistles. It appeals primarily to children and teenagers and it is unmistakably girly. I could see a festival goer taking it out because it's waterproof and easy to find if you drop it, too.
The cost varies, I've seen it from £5 to £8 and it is available in trendy clothes shops and oddly gadget shops too, I got mine in a concession in Selfridges in Manchester City Centre in bright neon pink as a gift for my niece, who is actually 19 and a cyber goth, hence the neon! It's quite well made, not that there is much too it, and she did love it, so on that basis, I'd give it five out of five. The clasp is nice and strong and the rubber is soft, not rigid or thin. I do think the purse will last.
However. I went into Primark today with a friend and found that copies of the Candy Store Coin Purse are only £1! I checked them out, gave them the once over, they felt the same, looked identical and were available in a variety of neon colours. To be honest I'm going to therefore knock a star off this review because why pay £6 for something you can just as easily pick up for £1? As a stocking filler I know what I'd do. So whilst the Candy Store Coin Purse is quite nice, and makes a good gift, I saw nothing wrong with the cheaper alternative. Overall I do recommend it but if you have the opportunity to pick up a lookie likey for a quid in Primark obviously I recommend you do that more!
I bought this purse a couple of weeks ago for my oldest daughter as a stocking filler from Santa. She is a teenager next birthday and has become very fussy all of a sudden but as this was only a couple of pounds I thought it would be fun to get her one.
I bought it from a little shop that has popped up in Cheshire oaks outlet village called reds and I think it was only about five or six pounds.
The thing that impressed me was the feel of the purse it is soft and 'stroke able' not that I particularly sit there stroking purses all day but I think you know what I mean - it feels a little like a stress ball but I wouldn't recommend squeezing it as it looks like it could fall apart quite easily.
The colours they had were very bold which apparently is the trend at the moment and you press the two little balls at the top together to open it and it does have quite a bit of room in there for your coins so it will make it an ideal little gift for my daughter as she only needs it to hold her bus fares and dinner money for school.
Who knows I may soon start having an early mid life crisis and use it myself as it does look and feel really good but I don't think it's a purse made to last - might get a couple of school terms out of it at best.
I was bought one of these for my birthday this year and I absolutely love my purse. I am not really a handbag kind of person, I would much rather stick everything in my pockets and go out than carry around a big bag full of things that could get stolen. That isn't why I don't use one, I just have a tendency to leave things in places and handbags in shops or on buses is a normal occurrence for me. I therefore like to have my items on my person; I know I have them then.
I was bought this beast of a purse because it is not really a purse I can forget about or lose really, what with it being so bright etc. Also it is purple and I am always bought things that are purple, which I love. I have looked about and have found out that these purses are available for around £9 approx. I have a beautiful purple version of this purse but they are also available in light green, yellow, red, pink, orange, light blue and black. The size of this purse is approx 9cm x 5cm x 3cm and it is very lightweight. There is an inside pocket, but it is not big enough to hold credit cards although the main purse is. Folded notes are fine as obviously are coins.
It is made from ultra light super durable silicone so it wipes clean if you get any marks on it, it has stainless steel frame with oversized clasps, which give it a funky, fun feel to it. Apparently it is tear and crease resistant, I can't say mine has torn or creased so maybe they are right. I love this purse as I am a big kid at heart and I do think that younger children than me would like these as well  The clasps are easy to open and close and do close tightly even though they are covered in silicone. I have nothing bad to say about these purses, I love them.
Candy Store is a new fashion brand, known for its colourful silicone accessories. The Candy Store products are available in a variety of colours and sizes. The product range includes the Purse Mirror, the Eyeglass case, the Wallet, the Cosmetic Pouch and the Coin Purse. All the products are made from the same soft silicone material.
This specific design comes in 8 bright and fun colours: Bubblegum (pink), Grape (purple), Peppermint (light blue), Cherry (red), Orange, Apple (green), Lemon (yellow) and Licorice (black). The colours names are inspired by fruits and candies and there is also a limited edition design every month. This month's "flavour" is called Candy Cane, featuring a candy cane design.
The coin purse is normally priced at £9.00. I am always looking for better offers so I purchased mine during the summer sales for around £5.00, in the cherry red colour. It is a fun little coin purse made from soft silicone material with a kiss-lock closure.
The material is very flexible and the stainless steel frame and clasp at the top ensures the secure closing. The silver bar around the purse is covered by silicone material and it's only visible at the side hinges as it extends towards the base of the purse. The unique purse design has rounded edges and the top clasp closure comprises by two oversized silicone spheres, designed as extensions of the purse. The "C" logo of the Candy Store brand is embossed at the front side of the purse, as a signature of its authenticity.
This cute purse is appropriate for women and teen girls due to the colourful and pretty design. Because of its size, it nicely fits into my handbag and it's also a very practical solution for my evening bags and clutches. The coin purse dimensions are: 3.5'' x 3.25'' x 1.5'' (W x H x D). On the inside, the mini pouch has one single compartment without internal lining. There is only one layer of silicone and the internal surface is made of the same material that constitutes the external side of the purse. The design is super light and the company states that the material is odour and UV resistant. Indeed, the purse doesn't have the smell of plastic or rubber and I have been using this since August without noticing any fading of the colour. The red colour is still bright and vivid, like the first day that I bought it.
With this size and shape, the small purse only suitable for coins or rolled money. It is very handy and just the right size to keep my loose change in it, but credit cards or keys don't fit in the small compartment of the mini pouch. The silicone surface is waterproof and durable and it feels very soft and smooth on touch. The sturdy material doesn't stain easily and I have found that it's very easy to clean with a damp paper towel and if necessary it can be rinsed with water and air dried.
Overall, it's a very practical and versatile accessory that can be used to hold your loose coins. The silicone pouch is available in a wide variety of bright colours to choose from.
According to the label, the coin purse is made in China.
