      Disadvantages

      A lovely nourishing handwash

Because I spend a lot of time outside whether walking the dogs or with the horses my skin can of course can become quite dry especially on my hands. Therefore, I do try and use as many products as possible which are made specifically to help protect and care for the skin. Of course, there is an abundance of products all made for this specific purpose so it isn't hard to buy an item, the key thing though is if they actually work. One item recently bought for my yard's kitchen was the Palmolive Nourishing Liquid Hand Wash with Almond Milk. I picked it up from a £1 store and because of their limited choice and me being in a rush I opted for it simply because I do like almond milk as I do find it quite moisturising when used in toiletries and thought it was the best choice given the limited range of other handwashes which all looked rather cheap and unfriendly! == The Handwash == Palmolive is well known for its toiletries products and the Nourishing Liquid Hand Wash with Almond Milk is just one of their many items. It has a soap free formula which is enriched with almond milk which is meant to help nourish your skin after washing your hands whilst helping to leave your skin incredibly supple and soft due to the formula also containing gentle cleansers. == Packaging == Now the image on Dooyoo is now rather out of date as the new packaging has been updated and slightly modernised. The handwash comes in a somewhat oval shaped bottle which is clear plastic and complete with a pump action dispenser. On the front of the bottle there is the Palmolive logo together with the product name and an image of almonds together what I can only think of as blossoms. On the back of the bottle there is product information together with the list of ingredients and contact info. == In Use == The handwash itself is a very light brown colour, almost like a pale beige/biscuit and isn't clear in transparency. It does however look incredibly cream which I guess is quite nice. As you can expect from a handwash containing almond milk it has a lovely aroma which definitely has a sweetness to it although quite subtle complete with a slight nutty hue. The almond milk handwash has quite a decent consistency and you really don't need to use a lot for it to foam up once it has made contact with water. It's lovely sweet almost nutty and floral aroma suddenly springs to life and is noticeable which is quite nice. The handwash as I said above lathers up easily and will product white frothy bubbles which is easily rinsed off the hands without leaving a residue. I use this handwash a good few times a day as it is in the toilet at my yard and obviously for hygiene reasons I am constantly washing my hands which may be counter productive as I am washing the natural oils away with a moisturising handwash! However, I do find that my skin is a lot less dry and although not overly moisturised without the need for a hand cream I do find that this helps look after my hands whilst out sorting the horses. == Overall == Whilst this handwash alone won't tackle your dry skin on your hands I do definitely think it will help at least keep your hands nourished and ultimately softer throughout the day especially if like me you spend a lot of time outside. It is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin because of its soap free formula it doesn't irritate my skin either so even better. Definitely a handwash I would buy again and one I would recommend if you are wanting a handwash which is moisturising whilst protecting your skin all at the same time. 5 stars from me. == Product Information == Brand: Palmolive Price: £1.00 plus Size: 300ml

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A nice handwash

Palmolive Nourishing Liquid Handwash **WHAT IT DOES** Palmolive nourishing handwash is exactly what says (a handwash, which is good for your hands). It has a soap free formula with almond milk to help take care of your hands leaving them soft. Within the formula there are mild cleansers and skin conditioners to leave your hands in good condition. It will continue to nourish the skin after washing to leave your hands soft and silky. **INGREDIENTS** Aqua, Sodium C12-13 Pareth Sulfaste, Cocamidoproply Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Lauryl Glucoside, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin Parfum, Glycol Distearate, Polyquaternium-7, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Laureth-4, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis, Sine Adipe Lac, Benzyl Benzoate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Linalool This may be useful if you are allergic to any of these ingredients. **PACKAGING** It comes in a semi-circle container, which is see-through. You can see the pearly white handwash inside. On the front has the Palmolive logo in green and white. It tells you briefly what the product is. A picture of almonds is on the front too. On the back there is further information on the product in pastel green writing. It has a white plastic spray pump. To release the product you need to press down and it will squirt out. This is a good job as it means you only get a small amount of the product at any one time. You can close this pump by turning it in a certain direction and then it won't pump out any of the product. The only problem I have with this is once the product starts to run out it is hard to get any handwash out. You can spray the pump off to get into the container. The packaging is sturdy, durable and waterproof. I think the packaging looks rather attractive! **PRODUCT** The handwash itself is a thick creamy liquid, which is pearly white in colour. It has a soapy smell with a slight perfume aroma to it. To wash your hands you really only need to pump the liquid onto your hands once. This will be enough to clean your hands properly all in once go. This means the product will last for a considerable amount of time. The liquid feels silky and luxurious. **OVERALL** I like this product, as it seems to cleanse my hands. It is good to use if your hands have got dry or weather-beaten. May this be from the cold weather or working in the garden. At roughly £2 I feel that it is good enough value. Sometimes you may be able to get it on offer. It leaves my hands clean and feeling silky. I see it as one of the more luxurious handwash products you can buy.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Suitable even for very sensitive skin

Palmolive Nourishing Handwash with Almond Milk is a fantastic product. It costs £1.99 for a 300ml pump-action dispenser; however, the last time I purchased it it was on a buy-one-get-one-free offer so was even cheaper than normal. It is the only hand wash I have found that does not dry out my hands and make them feel rough and dry. You do not need a lot to make a decent lather and the smell is lovely. It is soap-free and contains skin conditioners and mild cleansers and it claims to carry on nourishing the skin even after washing. I have very sensitive skin on my hands and they tend to get very dry and sore, especially in winter, but I have been using this for about two years now and my hands have remained soft and healthy all that time. It is great for really getting your hands clean, too, even when you've been gardening or cleaning the car. Handwashes like this are great because they are a lot less messy to use than bar soaps and, if you add a tiny bit of water to it when it has almost run out, you can get the last little bit out of it which is so much better than wondering what to do with the tiny scraps you get when your bar soap needs replacing. I would not use any other handwash these days and would recommend this to anyone.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Probably more expensive that 'own brands' but worth every extra penny

The Company ============ Part of the Colgate group of companies, Palmolive makes a good range of toiletries including bath crèmes, hard soaps, deodorants and liquid hand-washes. Palmolive Naturals Liquid Handwash with Almond Milk ======================================== Real almond milk is moisturising and has a high content of Vitamin E which in itself is a natural anti-oxidant thought to rejuvenate or at least slow down the signs of ageing. Rehydrating the skin will go a long way towards plumping up the skin and making it feel and look younger. However, there is no mention of Vitamin E on the ingredients list on the packaging so perhaps the ‘almond milk’ in this product is synthetic? As I’ve had ‘old’ hand since I was about 14 (my grandmother was a great believer in character-building chores and floor scrubbing was one of them), I was rather hoping continued use of this product would give me the hands of a sixteen-year-old maiden. The ‘milk’ itself is of a medium thick consistency. A milky-yoghurt consistency springs to mind. I can’t vouch for it’s taste but its early in the day yet and it’s a while before dinner. It is described as ‘soapless’ and therefore you will not be surprised to hear that it doesn’t lather up like a traditional hand cleanser. The smell is fresh and clean but strangely smelling slightly of coconut rather than almonds as you would think. My verdict ======== This is one of the few hand cleansers I’ve used that doesn’t leave my fingers stripped to the bone with weeping sores. I had never experienced any skin problems in my life until last year when I worked briefly for our local supermarket and used the liquid soap in dispensers in the washroom. Within days my fingers were red, cracked and sore. I now find I also have to avoid the liquid soap of another well-known brand so I must investigate the ingredients thoroughly to see what was causing that distressing skin problem. But Palmolive’s Natural range has caused me no problems and so pleasant it is to use, so soft are my hands after I’ve used it, that I am in danger of developing that compulsive hand-washing disorder. Cost ====== Approximately £1.20 from our local Co-op although they are quite often on a BOGOFF deal. Packaging =========== An attractively shaped bottle with rounded edges and a dispenser for the soap. The dispenser is ideal for keeping by the sink and can be plunged with the elbow (the dispenser, not the sink) to avoid getting the bottle mucky. My husband hasn’t worked this out for himself yet so our bottle by the kitchen sink usually looks like it’s been used by a football team to clean their boots. I would certainly recommend this product without reservation, especially if you too have experienced the skin stripping affect of other liquid hand soaps.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              A great handwash.

And before you think, this girl has a problem, let me highlight that I don't have an OCD about hand washing, it's just that it smells so good!! Thought I would share my opinion about this product after a friend of mine came round and raved on about my handwash. I've got to say I love it too. ********** The product ********** The bottle is clear so that you can see how much is left and when to replenish. It looks fairly ok on the sink, no need to purchase a soap dispenser which I have used when I have opted for cheaper products to pretend that I haven't! It has Palmolive and a picture of an almond on the front with Nourishing Liquid Handwash, Almond Milk. It is said to be a soap free formula enriched with almond milk. It contains a unique combination of mild cleansers and skin conditioner. Tests have shown that it continues to nourish the skin after washing hands, leaving it supple and touchably soft day after day. (In my opinion it may well nourish the skin but I can't say that my hands are touchably softer thanks to it) The top of the bottle has a white liquid dispenser which doesn't need to be plunged right down to the bottom as a little goes a long way. What I have found is that I need to slightly wipe my hand along the point of exit so that the liquid soap doesn't leave a very fine trail, this is however often the case with liquid dispensers so not a major criticism. It has a great smell, if you like almonds, which does last for a number of hours after use. The liquid is white and looks and feels very creamy, producing a rich creamy lather when mixed with water. Please note that the photo shown by dooyoo is for the ultra nourishing shea butter hand wash. **** Price **** Averages at about £1.66 per 300ml bottle but I always wait for the BOGOF offers which makes it about 83p per bottle. When you look at this against the cheaper supermarket own brands which are under the £1 mark, I would much rather opt for this superior product. ******** Palmolive ******** Palmolive do a range of handwashes: Honey, Antibacterial, Milk and Honey and the Floral Series which I have to say have a prettier container, if pretty is what you are looking for! ********** Advantages ********** The smell, if you like almonds. Not harsh on your skin. Rich and creamy liquid soap. Much nicer than a bar of soap on your sink, cleaner & tidier. ************ Disadvantages ************ Slightly more expensive than the run of the mill handwashes but wait for the BOGOF offers Slight overspill when you push down on the nozzle When you get to the bottom of the container you can't get it all out so some waste, unless like me you turn it upside down and pour the remains into your next supply!
