      Stronger nails in no time!

I have always had rather weak nails, which often peel apart. I saw this Miss Sporty Nail Hardener is Tesco a few years ago, and at around £2 I thought it was worth trying. I have been using it every so often ever since, and am on my second bottle. The nail hardener similar to nail varnish, and comes in a pot the same as other nail varnishes from Miss Sporty. The bottle contains 7ml of product, is clear, with a pink lid. The hardener appears to be pale pink in colour, but dries clear. It is applied like nail varnish, and smells the same. The brush is inside the lid, and it is soft, does not lose strands, and makes applying the product very easy. One coat is plenty, so one pot lasts a long time, making it good value. The Miss Sporty Nail Hardener is aimed at people with short, brittle nails, but works on all nail lengths, to keep the nail together and protect it from damage. I use it when I am growing my nails out for a special occasion and want them all at a nice length. I then either remove the hardener using nail varnish remover, or paint my nail varnish over the top. Even after the hardener has worn off (or I have picked it off which I often do when bored...) my nails feel stronger than before. It is great to wear if you are going to be doing a lot of work which weaken your nails (I sometimes work in a pub doing several hours of washing up). My nails would usually be destroyed by that, but when wearing the nail hardener they are not damaged. It is a great product, which really does as it says, and lasts ages. I have recommended it to several friends. I purchase mine in Tesco but it can also be found in Superdrug and similar places. I award 5/5 Dooyoo stars, for a great product!

        A brill little buy!

Ever since I was a small child (I'm now 38 years old!) I have bitten my fingernails. Now though when I stop munching on them they are really weak and snap as they grow so thin and my toenails....well they're a nightmare and crack and chip really easily and for the record I have never bitten them! So I bought this in my local Boots store costing me £1.99 which I thought was a good price for a product such as this. It came in a glass round bottle with a light pink handle which houses the great quality unflaking or malting long length brush and on the said handle we are told what it is and that it is indeed a Miss Sporty product. The bottle is rather small though sturdy but nothing posh to look at however it doesn't look cheap and nasty either to be fair to it! Using It: The idea with this pinkish coloured liquid is to apply it to clean nails. Although this is a nice light pink shown through the glass bottle it goes on nails clear however when applying it you can smell the usual sort of nail polish/varnish fragrance and as its wet till it dries you can see where you have applied it to. Its a doddle to apply being clear and dries in a couple of minutes flat and you only need to apply one coat of it and it leaves the nails looking slightly fresher and a bit cleaner in my humble opinion. I have applied this as well and used it as a base coat to help strengthen my nails under my usual nail polishes, again this gives a smooth base but it doesn't particularly stop staining of colours that you apply over it. Does It Work?: I used this every other day or so for over a couple of weeks, on its own and under numerous polishes and in my opinion this is great quality, affordable product to use. I did notice that my fingernails felt stronger and certainly weren't chipping or flaking at all! My finger nails really flake off prior to finding and using this product but after using this they haven't at all and the ugly splits and large chips in my toenails haven't been there either! All in all this for me is a now a must buy product. I can virtually apply this anytime I have a moment without build up and use it quickly and in dim lighting too as its clear and in fact I think I may have become more than a little addicted to it, not that, that matters it seems good for my nails and not half bad on my purse either so recommended this is! Available from Boots, Superdrug and do Google online for this as well!

My finger nails are terribly thin and brittle and they break easily. I suffer from hypothyroidism and this is one of the symptoms that comes with this. I find that my nails grow with deep ridges on them and as they get a bit long they tend to split along the ridge on some fingers,. On others they are just so soft that as soon as they get to a nice length to start painting them they bend and break off and I have to cut the others to match and start all over again. My sister suggested I try using a nail hardener once I get my nails to a nice looking length and then paint them over the top to see if it helped. I ddin't want to pay out a fortune in case it didn't work so I was pleased to find the Miss Sporty range in Superdrug which were a very reasonable price. My daughter likes using Miss Sporty make up anyway as it suits her teenage pocket so I knew a bit about the brand. The hardener cost me £1.99, it is quite a small bottle but then so are most nail varnishes anyway. The liquid in the bottle looks a nice pretty baby pink when you see it, but as you paint it onto your nails it looks more like a clear varnish. You can see your nails clearly underneath. The stuff was easy to paint on, the brush that comes in the lid was a nice shape and I found it easy to get right up to the edges of my nails on both hands without having to shout for help. The hardener smells like any normal nail varnish and it didn't take long to dry on my nails. I gave them another coat after about 15 minutes and then left them for about a good half hour to dry completely. I think they were dry way before this but as I wasn't in a hurry I decided to hang it out. Once dry I felt my nails. They did feel a bit stronger and not so bendy on the tips like they used to be. I could still feel the ridges on the bad nails so I got a nail file and rubbed them slightly and then painted again over the top. I thought may be it would be a bit like varnishing a table top or something where you fill in the gaps with varnish and then give it a soft sand down and then keep covering until it feels smooth. I did this on and off over the day, I can't remember how many coats I had put on by the end of the day but my nails certainly looked and felt a lot better. They were all nice and smooth and felt quite strong as to how they usually feel. I kept wanting to tap my fingernails on everything so I could hear the nice sound lol as I hadn't been able to do it for a long while. It did make my hands feel more elegant and gave me a bit more confidence. Later that night my daughter painted over the top with a nice pretty colour and I was so pleased with the results, I had lovely nails again. I would recommend this product as for the price it was a brilliant buy.

A very cheap and effective nail hardener

I'm not sure whether it's to do with my age or from constantly painting my nails but from time to time some of my nails, especially at the tips, tend to become weakened and the top layer flakes off. I've tried numerous nail hardeners in my time but most of them only go some way to correcting the problem. Whilst surfing the Fragrance Direct website recently, I spotted this Miss Sporty Nail Hardener and as it was at such a low price, decided it was worth a go. Price and availability: Miss Sporty products are sold in most high street chemists such as Boots and Superdrug and the current retail price is £3.99, although it's frequently sold much more cheaply than this. I bought this product from Fragrance Direct for 99p and even allowing for the £1.95 delivery charge, it's still a bargain. My opinion: If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting great things of this product. It was so ridiculously cheap that I doubted it would do anything but I was very agreeably surprised. Miss Sporty are known for selling very basic products and that goes for the packaging, too, and this nail hardener was no different. The 7ml bottle come is a clear round bottle with a squared off bottom and a pink plastic top. The pink is the colour of old national health glasses as worn by the Milky Bar Kid so it's not exactly beautiful to look at. There is absolutely nothing written on the bottle and the top carries a clear sticker with the product information. This told me that Miss Sporty is made by Coty, which was reassuring. At least that was a reputable name. The bottle is recyclable and the contents are good for 24 months. The contents of the bottle are a pale, indeterminate shade of pink, similar in colour to the base coat for French manicures. This is a small bottle and the brush which is integrated into the cap is equally short but adequate to apply to nail hardener and, of course, as this is the same colour as a finger nail, there isn't any necessity to have a specially designed brush for precision application. Just slap it on! The consistency of the product is exactly the same as nail varnish and it smells the same, perhaps slightly stronger but this soon dissipates as the product dries . Once applied, it dries very quickly to leave a low level shine which gives the impression of a well-buffed and healthy nail. I've been applying this product as a base coat after which I've applied a couple of coats of my coloured nail varnish and then finished off with another coat of Miss Sporty Nail Hardener in place of a top coat. The end result has been remarkable. My nails are now so hard it's practically impossible to bend them without exerting a great deal of force. I don't wear my nails incredibly long and they only just show over the tips of my fingers so I can't guarantee that this would be as effective on very long nails. I admit, I've been taking more care of my hands, too, by wearing rubber gloves to do the washing up (at least when I remember) and I've been applying nail cream but even so, I'm convinced this product has been responsible for the greatly improved condition of my nails as well as their strength. It hasn't been totally effective, however, as I still have one nail which isn't responding to the treatment quite as well as the others, though even that nail has improved from its original condition. I won't say this is the best nail hardening product on the market because some of the more expensive treatments such as those manufactured by Mavala or Sally Hansen are better than this but for a quick fix for nails which are only in need of slight improvement, this is a good, economic way of dealing with the problem.
