This product is a skin saver for your hands year round, but especially in the dry winter months. I have used the satin hands set by Mary Kay for years now and have never been disappointed. The 4 step set is like my secret weapon for soft, smooth hands of satiny perfection. I use this set a couple of times a week, and even more in the winter. It is definitely helpful for dry, cracked and rough skin on the hands.
The first step is the Extra Emollient Night Cream which is a thick, extremely greasy formulation but is very absorbent and gives hands a great moisture barrier against dryness and roughness. You rub this into your hands and leave it on while moving on to step two.
The second step is to put a dollop of the Buffing Cream onto the hands. This works with the Extra Emollient Night Cream to scrub away dead skin, dry skin, allowing the new healthy skin underneath to shine through. I suggest you really use some elbow grease to scrub, scrub, scrub to get all of the dead skin and dirt off your hands. Your skin will thank-you later.
The third step is to use the gentle, soft-scented Cleansing Gel with water to wash away the remaining cream on the hands, and reveal your softer, smoother skin underneath. Your hands will feel sooooo soft and satiny.
The fourth step is to apply the hand cream, which is the cherry on top. This hand cream acts as an invisible glove to combat dryness for hours, protecting skin from the elements, and the environment to keep the results of the system lasting as long as possible. It is also non-greasy and absorbs very quickly into the skin. I recommend applying the hand cream twice a day or as needed.
This set can't be bought in stores, but it is available through a Mary Kay representative, and on Mary Kay.com for about $30.00. You can also get some great deals for this set online off Ebay and on other online shopping sites.
This product is well worth the money, because the hands show the signs of aging even quicker than the face. So if you don't want your hands to tell your secret, then i suggest you treat them well. The Mary Kay Satin Hands set is definitely the best treatment out there, for thoroughly pampering your hands. So put your best fist forward and enjoy hands of satiny perfection without leaving the comfort of your own home.
Mary Kay's Satin Hands is the best thing I have ever used on my hands. It is 4 steps, but can be done in 2 minutes, and is worth the effort. The first step is massaging the Extra Emollient night cream into the hands. This is very greasy - but penetrates and softens so well. Step two is rubbing the body buffing cream over the night cream. This buffs away the rough areas of skin - acts as an exfoliator. On top of both of these, Step 3 adds the Cleansing gel. Add just a touch of water and this rinses everything away. You can feel how much softer your hands are at this point. The 4th step is using the hand cream. The hand cream finishes the softening and seals in the moisture. Using Satin Hands a couple of times a week will really help get rid of rough spots, and your hands will feel soft all day. For a real treat, use it daily! I use it on my feet, too, with the same results. This is especially nice in the warm weather to get ready for wearing sandals. One draw back is the number of steps, but it really can be done in just a couple of minutes, and the number of steps has never kept me from deciding to "do it later". I like this product better than any handcream I have ever tried, but I can't say I have tried any other multiple-step system. Actually, I have never seen another system with steps like this. I would probably try one to compare, if I ran across any. The cost is 24.00 and last several months when used a couple of times a week.
