i highly recommend these heated rollers

      Hi there everyone,

This a review on the babyliss thermo ceramic curlers which are fabulous. These heated rollers are perfect for when I want really define curls in a quick time, and is a great alternative for curling tongs. The package comes with 20 curlers, that come in 3 different sizes small , medium and large, so you can achieve different sized curls. It has 10 clips and 20 pins which are useful although I do prefer the clips as the hold the curlers in really firmly. The pins do, do the job but the clips are better Also I find that these heat up rather quickly, at 8 minutes which is rather quick for heated curlers, as I have others ones that take a bit longer. The curlers are light weight and are not heavy so the pins are efficient enough to hold them in place. The do get quite hot but not to hot to burn you. The added bonus that there ceramic so there's minimal heat damage. Although i do not frequently use them so that's not an issue for me.

The best time to use them is when your hair is damp with a little setting lotion or mousse, then your on,
your way to really bouncy long lasting, defined curls. I really like using my heated curlers for those special occasions.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Would recommend

With my incredibly straight hair i really struggle to find a product which gives my hair naturally bouncy curls that last. I have tried absolutely everything and this product gives me the best shaped curls which lasts a fair amount of time.

The packaging it came in was a large black box with an image of the product on whilst inside it had the heated unit and the ceramic curlers along with what looks to be very large hair grips and hairdresser clips.
I was very excited when i plugged it in as it was the first heated curlers i had tried and was praying that i had found something that would finally curl my hair. The rollers themselves did not take long to heat up and the middle curler has a heat spot on it so you can tell when they are ready for use. They are rather easy to put in but if you hold them for too long you can end up burning your fingers, something i found myself doing on many occasions. I was not sure how the large grips were supposed to slot in your hair and hold the roller in place as whenever i use it, even still to this day, i cannot get them to stay, so end up holding the rollers in place with the hairdresser type clips.

I keep mine in until they have gone completely cold, so the length of time you need them in for varies depending on how thick your hair is and how strong you want your curls.
I unrolled them as was very impressed with the curls it had produced, they were very bouncy and very natural looking, i was so excited thinking i had found something which is quite easy and curls my hair. The only problem i found is that my curls dropped rather quickly after a few hours and looked like i had not curled it at all, but i believe that is the fault of my hair, not the curlers as it does the same with every product.

Overall i was very impressed with these curlers, made my hair the curliest out of everything i have tried, would definitely recommend them.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good curler set once you have found your perfect setting.

Many of us like to play with our hair and are always looking for new tools to help play with our style.
After many unsucessful attempts at curling my straight hair with velcro rollers and not wanting to spend hours playing with a curling iron anymore, I splashed out and picked up the Babyliss 3035u Thermo Ceramic Heated Rollers.

At around £30, the price is not too expensive.

It comes with 20 rollers in their base unit, 10 plastic roller clips, 18 metal roller pins and instructions.

There are 6 small, 6 medium and 8 large rollers, so there are plenty of options for styling.
All the rollers have a soft velvet covering which makes them grip to the hair without snagging, even on very fine hair.

The unit is very easy to use. After plugging in, it is turned on using the front slide switch and the temperature is controlled through a dial.
These is a bit of guess work required to get the right temperature for your hair type, as the only indication of the heat setting is a graduated bar around the dial. Time to get up to desired heat does vary quite a bit depending on the setting chosen, but it isn't over about 5 mins.

When the rollers have reached desired temperature they are ready to use. The tops of each roller get a little warm, but not too hot that they can't be handled.
Wrapping hair is easy, just takes a little practice.*
*Sidenote- A common mistake people seem to make is that you need to get your hair into the center slit of these rollers; Not so, the center slit is for the heating plate in the base. With these the hair just goes right round.
With the velvet covering, they come out smoothly and go easily back into the base.

The large plastic clips work well with each roller size and the metal pins also hold securely, but overall the plastic clips work better. It is recommended to buy more of your own as it doesn't come with enough for a whole head of curlers.

Overall, Its a good value set. Simple to use and versatile.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Amazing rollers - well worth it!!

I have the straightest hair ever, i don't even have to brush it for it to dry straight after a shower! I'm sure some people will read that and think WOW thats what i want - but i assure you its not! It has no volume what-so-ever, whenever i think of my hair, i think of the l'oreal advert "for weak, limp, lifeless hair". So you can imagine how excited i was when I found these heated curlers. I had never used heated curlers before, so was a little reluctant the first time, but they are absolutely amazing! They take about 15 minutes to heat up, so i normally put them on just before i dry my hair. The rollers include grips and clips to keep them in your hair, i find the clips work much better with the big rollers. I normally split my hair into two sections and then once they are in hairspray my entire head. I wish i could put a picture on this review, because the difference is unbelievable!! I used these to style my hair before a wedding earlier this year, and absolutely everyone commented, and kept asking whether i had been to the hairdressers. I cant recommend this product enough - with these rollers i am truely happy with my hair!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Good value for money,, reasonable price, good results.

I wanted hair curlers for a long time after seein many celebrities with a mixture of lovely tight and loose curls. So for christmas my sister bought me these hair curlers for £29.99. The come in a big chunky case with a 3 different sized curlers, small for tight curls, mediums sized rollers for normal curls and large sized rollers for loose curls. They also come with some clips to put hold the curlers in and some grips, if you desired to curl the whole of your hair.

Very easy to use: you only have to put the switch on and they begin to heat up, with a little white dot indicator that turns red when they are hot enough to use. You then simply curl the rollers up into your hair and secure with the desired sized clip. The longer you leave the rollers in, the better the result will be. I tend to leave them in for 30 minutes so it is best to put them in before you get ready.

To take the rollers out, simply take the clip off securing the roller and they should just fall out of your hair, leaving a curl. Sometimes the smaller rollers leave extrememely tight curls so it is best to either put these rollers in last or just simply run your fingers through the curls to make them become slightly looser, so they blend in with the rest of the curls.

Overall, I would recommemend these curlers. The case is compact and is excellent for taking away if you were travelling. I also use the clips that come with the curlers when i straighten my hair because they are great at dividing the hair and hold well. The only downside is that my hair is right down my back so the curls tend to fall out half way through the day but this is only because my hair is so heavy.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good buy for hair roller users

I dare say that those of us blessed with straight hair spend a long time seeking the easiest way to get perfect curls, and those born with a lovely head full of waves and curls spend a life time taming and straightening - the grass is always greener isn't it!

I am one of the straight hair ladies who goes through phases of craving curls. Even though I love the results of tonged hair, I am a little fed up of the amount of time and effort it takes to use them and decided there must be an easier way. I decided I would invest in some heated rollers, thinking they may just be the answer to my hair prayers...

      - Why Tresemme ?
No other reason than the price. These rollers were half price at Argos, bringing them down from £40 to £20. Not only did I think this was a good deal but it was also about the price I wanted to pay for my first set of rollers. I didn't want to fork out loads of money if I didn't like the results; I'm glad I did this now. Also, as a cherry on the cake, Tresemme is such a well trusted brand I almost knew they'd be one of the best before I began.

      - Appearance/ease of use
They come in a lovely, compact, lidded case. - great for storage, and keeps the rollers and supplied clips neat and tidy when not in use. Each roller is slotted on to a vertical heating rod, the lid is closed, the unit plugged in an away it goes. There is a small light at the front of the device that indicates it is working, and a small heat light on top of each roller glows white when they have heated up sufficiently. There is also a storage compartment and the front in which to keep the hair clips which secure the rollers in the hair.
Also supplied is a bag of larger black hair grips which can be used instead of/as well as the clips. These open up like a crocodile clip and wrap round the outside of the roller. These can be a bit less fiddly than clips though I think they feel a bit loose and do not hold the hair as securely. The only other drawback to this is that they are supplied in a large clear plastic bag with no permanent storage solution - a simple little drawstring bag would have been nice to be supplied with for this purpose.

Each of the rollers is black in the central, heated parted with grey plastic at both ends which stays cool for handling, rolling and clipping. The great thing is that even if it takes a while to fix in each one, the others remain in their place and stay hot until they are used.

The rollers come in 3 different sizes - small, medium and large. The smaller ones give a tighter curl and are designed for shorter hair whereas the larger one give a looser curl, wave or volume to longer hair.

      - The results
I really do think practise will make perfect where these are concerned. After my initial use I wasn't impressed. My hair looked heat damaged, unnatural and basically just a mess. My fairly long hair seemed to bend rather than curl up to about my ear lobe, it looked a bit mechanical in a way.

I have however persevered and given them a few more chances. I have learnt not to leave them in for as long. I thought that the longer I left the roller in, the more defined the curl would be, but to be honest it doesn't seem to work like this. Also, the curls I made tended to drop out within 2 hours, but perhaps some curl defining mousse would solve this problem. It seems to be a bit of trial and error with the length of time and the size of rollers to use, but to be honest this is more an issue with me as the user rather than the product itself. I think I was expecting to have a headful of curls that would suggest a lengthy tonging session from just 20 rollers

Having not used a different heated roller product I can't compare it to another one, but it does seem to do what it claims to do and is very simple to use.

The instruction manual it is supplied with is very good and clear. It tells you exactly how to use the product and how to care for it. It's also supplied with a mini magazine-style booklet with pictures of hair ideas and the different looks that can be created from the different sizes of roller which made a good read.

The product is good, it's more me as the user that should have done my research a little better. For that reason I give 4 stars as I think Cosmopolitan have a good creation here, it just isn't for me.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Reliable product, quick hairstyle, convienent and a good buy if used correctly and safely.

I got these rollers for my 21st birthday and they are still working properly nearly two years later. They are ideal for me because I don't like using hair straighteners to curl my hair and these rollers are so quick and easy.

Operating them is very simple ; select your heat temperature, allow them to heat up for about ten minutes until the control roller shows a grey circle. This shows you that they are ready to use. The rollers come with clips of two kinds and you can use both or just one of the two styles.

The curlers come in three main sizes which is positive in that it opens the possibilities to all kinds of looks but can be annoying if you have a lot of hair like I do and you run out of a particular size. Technique is also everything - I'd recommend watching some tutorials on heated rollers if you have never used them or they can produce some unsightly bends and wonky hairstyles. Heated rollers rarely last for more than a few hours, this is just the nature of heat products on hair but you can help yourself with hair spray, technique etc. Although you can leave them in for 10 minutes, I'd try to leave them in as long as possible because once they have cooled down they won't damage your hair any further, only help it set into place. You must always use heat protecting spray too, I went through a faze of not bothering and it dried out my hair.

Lastly, keep all the clips in one place because they are very easy to lose. I've had to replace some of mine over the years.
