      A Tresemme hairdryer set

A while ago my hairdryer broke and ever since then I have been using my travel sized one. However it is not really as powerful as my old one and it was taking me longer than usual to dry my hair and therefore I couldn't wait until I could get a new one. However when my husband and I celebrated our anniversary earlier this month, I was surprised and very pleased when I opened my present to find he had bought me a new hairdryer as a gift. The model: The hairdryer I received is a Tresemme branded one and is model number 5542GU. The one I received came as part of a gift set collection which also had in the box, a concentrator nozzle, a hairbrush, cosmetic pouch and also a Tresemme shampoo and conditioner. The packaging: The hairdryer comes in the usual cardboard box and the dryer itself was wrapped up in bubble wrap. Initially, when I picked the box up I thought it weighed a lot and was worried that the hairdryer would be heavy, however, when I opened it, I realised it was actually mostly the weight of the shampoo and conditioner that was heavy! The box is black with pink bits on and shows a picture of what is contained within the box along with what settings the dryer has and a written philosophy on one side of the box. The hairdryer itself was unbelievably light and I was very impressed indeed! Using the hairdryer: The next time I washed my hair I couldn't wait to give my new dryer a go and once again picking it up I was amazed at how light it was - it is so easy to hold and because of how lightweight it is, I don't get arm ache whilst trying to dry my hair either! The concentrator nozzle I always use and keep attached permanently and like most dryers I have owned before this helps to keep the force of air directed down my hair so stop it going frizzy. The dryer has three heat settings or more accurately, three speed settings and usually I just use the highest to dry my hair in the quickest time possible. The actual dryer is 2200w so is up there with most of the top end dryers on the market. An added bonus is that it also has a button for a cool setting. You have to keep this pressed down and whilst doing so it changes so that it blows cool air through which I generally tend to do once most of my hair is dry to finish it off as it also stops your hair from being heated too much then. Overall I cannot fault the dryer as it does its job well and because of the three settings it mean you can use a slower speed if you don't like having the dryer up high. The extras in the box: I have been using the shampoo and conditioner that came with the dryer just simply to use these up first as normally I use V05 but, both have been very good on my hair and as they are both 500ml bottles that are still going strong so I imagine it will be a while before I get through these! The hairbrush that came with the dryer I have not used yet as it is a small half rounded brush and personally I prefer to use a flat brush. However for those that use this type it would be an added bonus to receive one free as part of the set. Lastly the cosmetic pouch is nice with a plastic type coating in black and inside is a bright pink lining which I love! The pouch isn't really big enough to get a hairbrush in, even the one that came with the set, but, would be ideal to use to take a few travel sized toiletries on holiday with you. Price: The hair dryer was bought as a gift and hubby said he bought it from Next but, now I cannot see this on their site so I have had a look around and can find it for sale on Amazon priced at £29.53. For a gift set I think this is very good value and even if this was the price for the dryer on its own I would happily buy one again as I think for this dryer that is a fair price. However of course shopping around I am not sure if you would find it even cheaper. Overall opinion: I am very pleased with this dryer and am truly grateful that my hubby bought it for me as I desperately need a better one than my travel dryer and I can honestly say this is the lightest dryer I have ever owned. In fact it is even lighter than my travel one and considering it is much more powerful too I think it is safe to say I will be taking this one away with me instead when I go away again. I think for the money it is a great dryer even if it didn't come with the extra bits and bobs and I also like the fact that in the box there was also a leaflet giving tips on how to style your hair and how to avoid frizz etc. If I had to pick one thing as a negative it would probably be that the lead is slightly shorter than my last hairdryer as that had a salon length wire that meant I could walk around the room whilst doing my hair. This is shorter and although not a problem for me as I don't need to reach a mirror further away, it may of course be an issue for some people so I thought bets to mention this. Overall I love my new dryer and can say it is by far the best one I have ever owned! I would not hesitate to recommend.
