“ Brand: VO5 / Type: Hair Dryer / Power: 2000W „
I bought this hairdryer as my last one (which I had had for almost 8 years) decided to get a lose connection in the wire!
I use my hair dryer at least every other day and it takes about 20 minutes to dry my hair as it is long and curly, so I do get good use out of it!
The hairdryer is not as heavy as it looks! I was a bit surprised to see the size of it when I took it out of the box but when I picked it up it felt light weight!
There is 2 speed settings and 3 heat settings with an addition cool button if you just wanted that burst of cold air! I use the middle heat setting on my long hair which works perfectly fine I have never had to use the top heat setting.
Due to the position of the buttons it is easy to press them by accident while you are drying your hair!
The wire is long so can easy reach mirrors if you are limited to plug sockets!
One downside is the end nozzle has a habit of coming off while you are drying your hair! It doesn't happen everytime bit I would say about 1 in 4 times I use it the nozzle falls off and trying to get it back on when it is red hot isn't funny!!!!
This is the first VO5 hairdryer I have bought and besides the few little faults it is very good and I will be happy to use this brand again.
Well, if you think this looks like your average mid-range hair dryer, you'd be right. I was hoping originally for something rather more than that, and was quite prepared to spend a bit extra. However, having gone through ten hair dryers in two years (several broke or stopped working, two went up in smoke), I was fed up with searching for the perfect one. Instead, as I wearily handed Number 9 over to the bored shop assistant, I decided I would just buy a cheap and cheerful replacement.
The only feature I was particularly interested in was the 2x air pressure for faster drying. I much prefer fast hair dryers as the slower ones tend to leave my hair a bit wavy in a way that suggests it makes its own decisions on the matter. Whilst this does seem to dry quicker than many hair dryers, it doesn't seem to be quite as fast. However, no unprompted waviness has arisen as a result, so I am fine with this.
The dryer is 2000W, with two speed settings and three heat settings. If I were to be really pedantic, I would say that I would prefer a heat setting somewhere in between the highest and the middle settings, but I am aware that that's extreme. I like the fact that this hair dryer is quite light compared to some, although it is a touch on the long side, making it slightly uncomfortable to hold it up away from your hair for long periods when the nozzle is attached as well. The nozzle itself, however, is quite effective at concentrating the heat onto specific areas of hair, although as it pushes on rather than clipping on, it can occasionally fall off if you knock it too hard against something. Another plus point is that, unlike some I have owned, the filter on this hair dryer hardly ever seems to need cleaning. This product has a 3m salon cable, which I really like, particularly when on holiday as hotels often like to position the mirror a mile and a half away from the mains socket.
Considering how many hair appliances I have managed to destroy over the last couple of years, this one has so far proved to be pretty robust, which, I have to say, was something of a surprise to me. Personally, I'm not mad about the colour, but I have got used to it, and at £19.99, this does seem like very good value for money.
