A root booster which gives the hair a bit more volume and makes it smell lovely

I love TIGI and all of their products. I also love to have volume in my hair and hate it when it falls flat. I was lucky enough to receive the Catwalk Your Highness Root Booster Spray by TIGI for Christmas.

      What does the product do?
The product promises to add some texture and lift to your hair giving it more body and movement, and long lasting volume. It also conditions the hair using the natural ingredients of Lavender. Wisteria , Jasmine and Violet to nourish the hair and give it a gorgeous shine. It gives the hair a lift, hydrating it without weighing it down.

How do you use the product?
The product needs to be applied to damp hair. You need to split the hair into different sections and spray the product directly into the roots keeping the can about 30cm away from the scalp. You then dry and style the hair as normal but if you blow dry the hair upside, it will add even more volume.

      Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a black and royal purple tin which is similar to a small can of hairspray. On the can there is some more information about how to use the product. It is has a small lid which you pull off and a dispenser which you push down on to release the product. The can will cost you around £10 and it can be bought from most good hair salons and also from a range of online websites.

      Application and Performance
The product comes and of the tin as a fine mist and looks much the same as a hairspray. It smells delicious as you would expect a TIGI product to smell and it has the same lovely blackcurrant fruity aroma as the others in the collection. The can is light and easy to hold. The product comes out of the tin as a continuous mist so you don't want to keep your finger on the dispenser. You can press it down intermittently as you apply the product to the roots. You do need to ensure that you don't get the product through the length of the hair because it doesn't look very good. My hair is easy to dry with the product in my hair and I blow dry it mostly with my head upside down giving the roots a rub.

Once my hair is dry, you can still smell the fruitiness of the product which is a good thing for me. It gives my hair a bit of a lift and a bit more volume. It doesn't make a massive difference to my hair but it does make it look a little bit better. It doesn't make my hair look greasy or sticky, and you can't really feel that the product is there. I can still brush my hair through so it doesn't cause any tangles. It hasn't caused me to develop any irritations or any discomfort. It gives my hair a lift for most of the day but there's no lift left by the second day. I wouldn't say that the product has nourished or improved the condition of my hair but then I am only using it on the roots of my hair so it would be hard to tell!

      Conclusion
All in all, this product makes a pleasant difference to my hair, giving it a bit of a natural lift without making my hair greasy or sticky. I wouldn't say the product makes enough of a difference to my hair for me to purchase a bottle once mine has run out but it certainly doesn't do any harm so I will continue to use this one. It makes the hair smell nice and improves it appearance a little bit.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      a great root boosting product

I love getting big volume into my hair, I have picked up a number of different root boosting sprays, and found that some worked better than others. I decided to pick up the Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Volume Root Boost Spray after a trip to the hairdressers. She used it in my hair and it looked amazing so I decided to buy some for home use.

      Application
This spray is really easy to apply. It isn't actually a spray, it comes out more like a mousse. You simply spray it into the roots of your hair and rub it in when your hair is wet after washing. Then you blow dry your hair out with a large round brush, to put more volume into your roots.
You do not need a lot of this product to get good results, I find that a little spray of this mousse goes a long way.

      Results
I love this root booster and it is by far the best one that I have tried. It gives my hair lots of volume with not very much effort and it does not weigh down my hair or make it look flat at all.
I find that when I use this mousse, when my hair is dried, my hair does not feel sticky or heavy, it feels fresh and clean and has lots of bounce in it.
I really love the smell of this root booster, it smells fresh and clean and has a real professional scent to it. The scent of this root booster does not really linger in my hair for that long, however I didn't really expect it to as it is only really applied to my roots and not all over my hair.
I really like that this product has a mousy texture, it makes it really easy to apply and helps me get the product right into my roots and gives me the best results possible.

      Price and Availability
This spray is a little pricey, it costs around £15 in the hairdressers, though I am sure it is available cheaper online. I think that although this spray is expensive, it is a really nice luxury product and still like to buy it for occasional use at special occasions.

      Overall
I think that this is a great product. It isn't really for everyday use, but it is good to use when I am doing my hair up nice to go out or for a special occasion. I would definitely recommend this root booster to anyone who wants to put a little extra volume into their hair and overall I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
