Ever since I took my first trip to a salon that used bed head products I instantly fell in love with tigi's 'after party' smoothing cream. The stylist used this on my mid lengths and ends to give my hair a healthy looking sheen and tame any static or frizz and I knew I just had to buy some after I saw how well it worked and how nice it actually smelled. The scent is probably my favourite aspect of this product, besides the bright, bold design because it smells so different to your average high street shampoos, conditioners and serums.
The cream looks almost like liquid pearls as it has a shimmery consistency, however don't panic as there is not glitter or anything like that in it and it won't show up in your hair at all. This is just a part of what gives your hair a nice sheen after using the product.
It has a sweet aroma that reminds you of expensive salon products, so it adds to the feel of treating yourself and really pampering your hair. The bottle is bright pink with a bubble/dome type lid which stops you from getting any of the product stuck in or around the lid. Standard size bottles are 100ml which can vary around £8-10 depending on where you purchase them from; I usually find that they are more affordable when bought online and in bulk (usually a double pack also known as 'tween' sets).
Although these are not generally sold in your average stores and supermarkets, you can find them in most salon and beauty wholesalers/retailers or your local salon(s) that use tigi products. Larger and smaller sizes are also available at selected places at different prices and they can also be bought in tween packs with other tigi products (such as the shine spray)
The bottle relies on a pump action mechanism to release the product, but be gentle when you press down as you only need a small amount spread over your palms and gently and sparingly spread over troublesome areas, particularly the ends of your hair. Though do remember that putting the product on your roots will more than likely make your hair go flat or greasy looking, much like any other serum or smoothing cream.
I have had this product for about a year and a half and it's only just ran out as I've used it sparingly and only when my hair needs some TLC. You do not need to use this every single day, unless of course your hair is very wild and frizzy - but normal to greasy hair I would not recommend daily use as it is quite rich and may leave your hair limp and greasy the next day if you put too much on.
Overall this is a nice little treat for your hair to have that salon experience at home, but not recommended for daily use due to how rich the product is and how pricey it can be compared to other products.
I remember reading an excellent review of this product on dooyoo some time ago, and it was enough to convince me that I should try it for myself. Tigi is a favourite salon haircare brand, and this After Party Smoothing Cream is part of their Bed Head range. Reluctant to pay salon prices, I found a barely used bottle on ebay for less than £5 including postage, and the salon label on it states that the RRP is £15.15.
Product description: "Smoothing cream for silky, shiny, healthy looking hair. Controls funky fly-aways to silk-ify hair. The perfect party favor for our frizz prone friends.
+ Smooth, soft finish
+ Enhances shine, provides gloss"
The packaging is vibrant and eyecatching, in a hot pink colour with a bizarre sex-toy type shaping. The bottle is made of pink coloured plastic and you can see the level of product left inside. The cream is dispensed through a pump action and the mechanism works from the bottom-upwards, so every last bit can be used up and there's no leftovers stuck inside the bottle. It is quite responsive to pressure which makes it easy to control the amount required and I can always get just the right amount that I need with little effort.
Recommended directions for use: Work a dime-size amount between palms of hands and smooth onto dry hair.
My poor hair suffers a lot. I have quite a plain hair style, long with slight layers and a growing-out side fringe. But, I do like to play around with different looks and experiment with colour. I have been dyeing my hair for the past 12 years and it receives frequent chemical treatments to achieve the colour that I want. I try and use special treatments to give my hair some extra care and attention but I have to be careful about cleansing products as I don't want to strip or fade the colour away and ruin all my hard work. After care treatment products are fairly new to me but since I purchased this Tigi Bed Head After Party Smoothing Cream, I've been using it several times a week to keep my hair looking in good condition, even though it is heavily damaged.
The smoothing cream is plain white in colour and has a lovely sweet scent to it which is kind of vanilla-y, like milkshakes. It seems heavy to begin with but I spread it between my fingertips before applying to get an even coverage, and as soon as it's rubbed onto my hair it starts to work its magic. The white colour of the cream does not show up on my hair, and it just sort of disappears as it soaks into my hair and coats it. It doesn't weigh down my hair and I haven't noticed any residue at all which is excellent as my hair does sometimes have tendencies to get greasy quickly if its overloaded with product, but this smoothing cream does not cause any excess oil. I use this cream on most days, particularly when my hair is looking frizzy or in need of some extra TLC. The only downside that I can think of is that it does not give a shiny glossy finish as described in the item details. This is not a problem for me as the other benefits are more important, but worth noting that there are other finishing products which are more effective for adding shine.
I apply the majority of this cream to the tips of my hair, and then just a little around the crown and sides of my hair to make sure that I get coverage in the areas where I need it. It only takes a little of this cream to get a full application, so the 100mls bottle actually goes a long way and can be considered quite an economical purchase as the product is used sparingly. Even though I colour my hair regularly, and use heated styling tools several times a week, just a simple touch of this smoothing cream transforms my hair and leaves it feeling incredibly smooth and silky to touch. My hair is quite fine and I do get flyaway sometimes, but this cream keeps my hair under control and means that I don't have to use extra styling products like hairspray to keep these hairs set in place. It is also really useful for treating dry and frizzy hair and smoothing it down to make it more manageable.
Back in summer 2012 the biggest hair trend was for dip dyed and ombre hair colours. I couldn't resist giving the dip dyed look a try, and bleached the heck out of my tips before colouring them pink (which actually turned red...). This resulted in some mega-clown-afro level frizz, and I had to use my After Party Smoothing Cream every day to gain some control over my hair and make it look more smooth and sleek. I actually have a picture of this which I think really helps to demonstrate how effective the smoothing cream is. Check out the "before" fuzz on the left and the "after" effect on the right in this image linked here - http://tinypic.com/r/2jcwnb4/6 This product was a real life saver for me, and I was amazed at how well it worked to make my dry and damaged split ends look neat and tidy, giving the illusion that my hair was in much better condition than it really was!
Since I've started using this After Party Smoothing Cream I have become totally addicted to it, there's no way I could go without it! Seeing as such a small amount is required for each application, a bottle lasts me for absolutely ages and helps to make the expensive price tag seem more justifiable. I think it's well worth the money as it works perfectly to soften, smooth and control my poor mistreated hair. I am so happy with the results that it has for my hair that I would happily give 5 stars, but to be fair I think it should drop one star as I do not think it lives up to the claim to give a shiny glossy finish. I can live without that though! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and will continue to keep using it as it is really effective.
I had a disastrous experience in a hair salon a few years ago where the stylist cut my hair wonky and very short leaving me very upset by the whole experience. I went for a year without having my hair cut and dying it myself as I couldn't face going into a salon. I made the massive mistake of dying my hair brown over blonde which resulted in a green tint to my hair. I contacted a friend and asked if she would be willing to help my hair disaster.
After a fantastic cut and colour she put Tigi Bed Head After-Party Smoothing Cream in my hair before curling it. To apply the product she put a small amount into the palm of her hand and rubbed it between her fingers before running her fingers through my hair. I loved the smell of the product but didn't expect much from it. But she was adamant that it was the best thing for my hair saying it would hydrate my hair and give it the boost it so desperately needed.
My hair is shoulder length and when I curl it myself it tends to fall out before I even finish styling it. So imagine my surprise when she curled all my hair into a lovely style which lasted 2 days and still smelt lovely. I was so impressed with the product that I went onto Amazon and brought this and the hair spray that smells and works just as brilliantly. My new and permanent hairdresser's spare room is filled with bed head products. She says that they are stylist's secret weapon and that it is the only product that she will use on her own hair.
The styling product comes in a bright pink bottle that contains 100ml of styling product. The bottle in see through and so you can see how much product you have left and so it is easy to know when to order more. It has a ball shaped lid which makes it stand out from all the other hair products out there. It has an easy squeeze button to get the cream out of the bottle.
I ordered this on Amazon for around £8.00, I ordered using the 3-5 day delivery service so was pleasantly surprised when my items arrived the next day. Packaged to Amazons usual brilliant standard and they also came with £5 money off voucher for my next Bed Head purchase.
There are not really any negatives for this product, it styles well, smells lovely and for me works every time. My hair feels soft and the product stops fly away hair. I would not be without this product now and would recommend it to anyone.
---------- Introduction ----------
If you've read my reviews, you probably have realised that I'm a massive fan of beauty products. And so recently, I was looking up hair care products when I came across the Bed Head range. I have heard of Bed Head products before, and I was very curious to try some of them out, and so I decided to purchase Bed Head After Party.
---------- Price and Availability ----------
Some of Bed Head's products are quite expensive, and I didn't really want to pay the full price, which is around £13, so instead I bought 2 100ml bottles off eBay for £12, which I think was a very good deal. You can't buy bed head products from places such as Boots, or supermarkets, you can only buy them from places like salons, or online shops such as lookfantastic.com or feelunique.com.
---------- About Bed Head ----------
Now I keep going on about 'Bed Head products' and I'm sure some of you might not even know what Bed Head is. Bed Head is just a range of hair products. They have products such as shampoos, conditioners, hairsprays, and many more.
---------- About After Party ----------
The product I purchased (After Party) is a smoothing and frizz control cream. It claims to control flyaways, to enhance shine and to smooth your hair. This sounded perfect to me, as I am quite regularly dying and using heat tools on my hair, it can get quite damaged, and I often need something to smooth my hair down and stop the frizz! It also says that it's lightweight.
---------- Packaging ----------
I absolutely love the packaging for this product, I think it's really cool! (However some people think it looks a bit rude!) You can kind of see the bottle on the picture, but I'll describe it anyway. The cream comes in a bright pink bottle. The lid is like a big bubble on the top of the bottle, and you just pull it off, to reveal a pump. To use it, you just simply press down on the pump, and white cream comes out. On the packaging it says 'Bed Head' 'After Party' (In really cool writing may I add). And on the back it tells you about the products, how to use, ingredients, etc.
---------- Using the Cream ----------
To use it you just pump out a small amount of the cream, rub through your fingers, and just smooth it onto dry hair. I was a bit hesitant at first to smooth onto dry hair, as I thought it would make it a bit greasy; however it didn't as I only used a small amount. I also only like to apply this product to the areas where my hair looks most damaged. I found that this product was really easy to apply, and oh my gosh it smelt GORGOUS! I can't exactly put my finger on what it smells like, but let's just say it smells lovely and fruity. However I would just like to add, although I have said that it smells really nice, it does, but I can smell it strong when it's on my hands for example, but when I put it on my hair, as I only use a small amount, you sadly can't smell it that well.
---------- Results ----------
This product works instantly. As soon as I apply it, it controls my flyaways, smoothes my hair, and makes it look a lot healthier. Also as it claims, it's lightweight, so it doesn't make my hair greasy, or weigh it down. I would only buy this product, if you need something that controls fly aways and frizz, otherwise this product wouldn't be much use to you.
---------- Conclusion ----------
In conclusion, I would buy this product again, it smells nice, the packaging's cool, and it actually works at controlling my frizz! If you don't want to pay the full price for this, you can always have a look around on eBay to try and get yourself a good deal!
Thanks for reading :)
I have been using a variety of TIGI Bedhead hair products for years, I have found the majority of them to be good quality and I like the bright packaging too. I have fine, straight hair and I like to use products that make my hair soft and sleek so Bedhead After Party sounded ideal for me.
Bedhead After Party says it is a smoothing cream for silky, shiny and healthy looking hair and claims to control fly-aways. It comes in a slim hot pink coloured 100ml bottle with a clear pink dome shaped lid. The packaging does look a bit strange and a bit like something you mind find in Ann Summers! The cream comes out of a pump at the top of the bottle and is easy to dispense.
The cream itself is white and is a lightweight gel-cream consistency. It is not thick but isn't runny either and is non-sticky. Bedhead advise to use a dime sized amount of the cream, I have shoulder length hair and I use a penny sized amount which is just right for me. It has a pleasant smell which I can only describe of fizzy sweeties!
Now the instructions on the bottle advise to smooth through dry hair but I actually use this on wet hair before blow drying and it works great this way. It definitely does what it says on the tin, this cream makes my hair smooth, silkier and shiny and easy to manage. I do sometimes use After Party on dry hair (using a smaller amount) and before using straightening irons too and again; it gives a smooth, sleeker appearance to the hair. Overall, I like After Party because it is lightweight and doesn't weigh my fine hair down. It doesn't dry out my hair either and lives up to its promises, which is rare for me in a hair product!
I don't really have any negative comments about this product however it is only available in hair salons or online, I do wish I could just pop into Boots and buy it as it would be quicker that way. Also, it is a little on the pricey side as it retails at around £12 but my best advice is to buy online as you will be able to buy it cheaper! I got mine brand new from eBay for £6.50 for example!
I've heard people rave about this product for ages so I finally gave in and bought some when I had an Amazon voucher to use up. I paid just under £9 including shipping for the 100ml bottle, but if you were to buy it in a salon it would be more expensive.
The bottle is bright pink and certainly stands out, it's very different to any other product rangeI've seen and you would easily spot it on the shelves in a shop. It has a pull off lid with a globe on top which is also pink but semi-transparent, and I have to say it does look quite phallic, I'm not sure if that's intentional or not! The bottle has a big button on the top that makes the dispenser work, and the cream is dispensed through a small hole.
The cream is quite thin textured and it has a nice scent that reminds me of sweets. It comes out quite slowly so it's easy to make sure you don't get too much and waste any. It feels nice and smooth but it's not as creamy as I was expecting, it's like a thin serum rather than a cream really.
The cream is meant to be smoothed onto dry hair to tame fly-aways and 'silkify' your hair. I just get a little bit out of the bottle and rub it between my palms before smoothing it over my hair, concentrating on the ends, and it immediately smoothes away my fly-aways. Other than that it doesn't actually do anything to my hair but as it's really smooth and silky anyway I don't think there's really any more it could do for me.
You do need to be very careful not to use too much of the cream as it will leave your hair looking greasy if you use even the tiniest bit too much, but get the right amount and it's fine. I expected the scent to stay in my hair but I could actually smell my shampoo more than I could smell the cream so that was a little disappointing.
I started using this product a few months ago after using a new salon for the first time. The stylist used it on my hair and I liked how smooth my hair looked so I bought some to use at home.
Part of TIGI's "bed head" range, after party is a hair creme that tames your hair making it smooth, silky and shiny.
It comes in a 100ml bright pink phallic shaped pump dispenser making it instantly recognisable and a fun addition to your dressing table.
It is only available from selected official stockists so it can be found in hair salons and online.
The note on the packaging tells you to use it on dry hair but I've only ever used it on wet hair before drying as that's what the stylist did so I'm guessing it can be used on oth wet and dry hair!
One thing to say about this product is that a little goes a long way - so although it's not cheap, it will last a long time!
As I said before, I use it on wet hair - so after rough drying with a towel I smooth a small amount all the way down my hair. You need to be careful not to use too much or it will make your hair greasy. I then dry my har with the hair dryer and it goes really smooth and glossy.
It smells lovely and I think it definately improves the appearance of my hair. It's fine for use on coloured hair too as I have coloured hair.
Tigi is a brand which was designed and created by Toni & Guy for their hairdressers to use in their salons. It was created in 1986 and its popularity has been grown every since, as has the variety and versions of their products. The brand is now used by hairdressers in most salons across the country.
One thing that you can guarantee with the Bed Head Collection by Tigi, if nothing else, is that the products will look good in your bathroom. And After Party is no different. It is a gorgeous hot pink bottle that stands up on its own and to someone walking past your bathroom, it may not be obvious what it is and may get people chattering!
After party is a smoothing cream for the hair and is particularly effective on frizzy hair that just won't calm down. The purpose of the cream is to take control of your unruly locks, taming flyaway strands and reducing the appearance of dry and split ends. The cream moisturises and smooth each strand to which it is applied and rejuvenates your hair instantly.
After one use, your hair will look revitalised, sleek and shiny. However, this is not a conditioning product and as a styling product, you'll need to apply the cream each time you want to achieve flawless locks. It's a handy product to have around with you on holidays when the humidity starts to wreak havoc on your hair.
After party is almost pearlescent in its colour when on the hand and is a gooey consistency. The cream is lightweight so you won't need to worry about it weighing down your hair and losing your volume, as long as you don't apply too much.
After Party is to be applied to clean, dry hair that has already been styled. This is the finishing touch for shiny, glossy and smooth hair that is gorgeously soft to the touch. You will only need a very small amount of the product otherwise you run the risk of your hair looking greasy.
In order to use the product, you squirt a tiny amount into the palm of your hands and work your hands together. Smooth the cream onto any area of your hair that is out of place and you are good to go. The effects are long lasting so you won't need to reapply which is just as well, because the bottle is too large to carry around.
The scent is not the normal aroma of the Bed Head collection and the brand usually makes the products smell good enough to eat. The fragrances of the Bed Head collection are incredibly long lasting and scrumptious and I was quite disappointed with the smell of After Party as I don't actually like it. It is not offensive and won't actually bother you but to me it smells quite dry, medicated and with only a little bit of fruitiness. But it works wonders on my hair so I'll let it go.
The product costs you around £13 for 100ml but the price will vary greatly depending on where you find it. It is available from most good hair salons and also on many online websites.
All in all, this product is great for taming and controlling your wild locks. By adding moisture to the strands, it smoothes out dry ends and gives your hair a healthy looking appearance. I must add those that I prefer the Tigi Super Star Lusterizer product which serves the same purpose. The smell of this product is amazing and I think it makes my hair shinier than After Party.
My advice would be if you like your hair products to smell delicious, choose the Lusterizer. If you like pretty packaging, choose After Party. Other than that, the products mostly do the same job!
My hairdresser has always used bed head products when I go for my cut and blow-dry, and when she recommended using the products, I researched the cost online. This is something I would advise everyone, if you are going to buy this product (and possibly other bed-head products) check out the web first, because there are some amazing offers out there!
I have had this cream for 2 and a half years now, and still have half of it left, yet use if 3-4 times a week. It was originally recommended to me because I have curly hair, and it was good to keep it straight with. I then found it also added shine, smelt gorgeous and did infact keep it nice and sleek.
The bottle looks a little odd! But don't let this put you off, it is in fact a very lightweight cream, that really does just require a pea sized blob in your fingers to run through your hair.
I do carry it almost everywhere, the only downside is the cost - but look around to find some deals, and remember it will probably last you years!
This is yet again another fantastic product from Bedhead by TIGI. You can find it in most hairdressers, the TIGI websites or other sites such as eBay and Amazon from anything between £7 and £20! I would not recommend that you buy this from your hairdresser as you will get charged much more than if you shop around online.
Bedhead always produce funky, eye catching packaging which is what they have done here. You can be sure you wont miss the hot pink tubed shaped bottle with a large bubble like lid on the top!
I do not suffer from frizzy hair as it is naturally quite straight. I don't tend to get my straighteners out very often because of how it is naturally but when I do I get fly away galore! It didn't bother me that much but I noticed it getting worse over the summer months as it literally looked static, so I took matters into my own hands! I'm slightly obsessed with Bedhead anyway and have well over half of the products they have ever released so I know the price is fully justified by the quality. When I saw this I bought it straight away and it has completely solved my flyaway issues!
I've never used it on wet hair, and to be honest I think it would be a waste because the products constituency is very light I don't think it would have much of an effect especially as my hair is very thick, but the choice is yours. It smells great, it is really fresh and fruity, almost a sweet scent. I'd say for the best results to use it on dry hair. You need an amount the size of a five pence piece, maybe slightly more depending on length. Rub in between both hands and smooth it onto your hair, starting at the ends. It is quite greasy, so if applied straight onto your roots the result might not be great! Use the excess the smooth over fly aways at your roots and then will literally flatten, and stay flat!
I have also used this (by chance) as a way of defining curls in my hair. Sometimes I find that when I curl my hairit almost lumps together, but using this on the curls really gives them definition and makes them look super smooth!
I would recommend this product to anyone who has flyaway hairs or anyone who is a bit frizzy! Even if you just want a soft finish to your hair, this product is great!
Since I had my hair cut and re-styled just before Christmas I decided to start using more quality and more expenisve products in my hair to try and keep it in as good condition as possible. I use hair straighteners or curling tongs on a daily basis so my hair isnt in the best condition as you might imagine but I will try as many products as possible to try and keep it in its current condition for as long as possible - and hopefully some products will even help to make my hair look and feel better. My hairdresser recommended the TIGI range to me as she said thats what she used - and her hair was in gorgeous condition - so I went straight home and had a peek around amazon to see what I could find. This 'TIGI After Party Serum' was one of the first that caught my eye - based on the totally mad packaging alone - but I only got round to buying it about a month ago and Im very glad I did. I wouldnt say its the best Bed Head product Ive used but its still pretty amazing either way!
Price: £8.50 - 100ml - Prices vary greatly on TIGI products so shop around for a good deal!!
Stockists: Amazon & most hair salons stock this brand.
Other Info: This cream promises to leave your hair feeling soft and silky and prevent any frizz or flyaway hairs from appearing all night long - so you can carry on partying the night away.
*This product is suitable for all hair types, colours and lengths. I personally have pretty long, coloured and quite dry hair and it works wonders on that so Id definitely recommend it to people like me - although I dont see why anyone couldnt use this regardless of your hair type or length.*

Right the packaging is something that I think will attract most people to this product because damn it looks so damn funny but its pretty eye-catching I have to admit. This product comes in a 100ml hot pink bottle that is skinny at the bottom and gets slightly larger until the top is a large ball type lid. Yes it does look like a sex toy - and dont lie! Im not the only one who thinks so - it does look a bit rude LOL. But I actually really like it - granted thats mainly for the colour than the slightly odd shape but its still pretty cool and very unique to say the least! On the front and back of the bottle is all the information you need about the product - ingredients, shelf life (12m), directions for use etc so any questions you might have should be answered on the bottle. Safe to say it looks great in my room and people are always commenting on it LOL!!

I dont normally add ingredients to my reviews but in the case of TIGI products I think its important to know exactly what is in each product as the ingredients are directly related to the results. This list was taken from the amazon website -
- Dimethiconol - Imparts shine and body
- Propylene Glycol - Conditions and moisturises hair
- Mica - Enhances shine
- Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil - Provides gloss
- Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163) - Enhances shine
So basically this product has everything you could need for your hair - it will make it glossy and shiny (but not greasy!), prevent frizz and flyaways, get your hair in better condition as well as adding moisture to it & give it extra volume. Everything I want and need from my hair products really.

This product is very simple to use and can be used in 2 different ways and for 2 different reasons. The first which is the most obvious - you work a VERY small amount between your hands and then work into your hair, when its dry NOT wet as you wont get the desired results if you put it on wet hair. Use a very small amount on your hair - and by that I mean a pea sized amount because otherwise it will make your hair very greasy and give it the opposite look from the one your trying to achieve - which also means one bottle of this stuff will easily last the 12 month shelf life if not a little bit longer. This can also be used in wet hair but for a different reason. When used on wet hair it helps to reduce the drying time - whether your using a hairdryer or letting it dry naturally and trust me it really does work when using it like that which saves a hell of a lot of time for me when Im in a rush to get ready. Which ever way you use it once youve applied it you can go on styling as normal and then what you should be left with is gorgeous smelling, looking and feeling hair.
As with all Bedhead products - well the ones Ive used anyway - this smells amazing! The scent is described as 'Fruit Medley' and I have to admit that is pretty spot on. The berry scents in this a much stronger than anything else - cherries and strawberries come to mind when I get a whiff of this but I can also smell banana & apple when it settles a little bit so fruit medley is exactly right. This smells very fruity and sweet but not overpowering in my opinion at all so even people who arent mad on sweet scents wont be offended by this smell because it isnt that strong. Thats not to sya that the fragrance doesnt last or isnt noticable because it really is - this lasts literally all day on my hair which is amazing in itself - and I get a great whiff of this all day long after Ive applied this so I am in love with this scent.

Now I have to admit the effects of this are pretty good. I dont suffer badly with frizzy hair on a daily basis but when Im on a night out and Ive been out for a good few hours it can strike - it seems as soon as I touch a drop of alcohol my hair turns into a birds nest - but with this that doesnt happen at all. My hair stays frizz free and looks like it has been professionally styled for the night it looks that shiny and glossy - without being greasy I should mention. My hair looks and feels amazing - not to mention smells amazing as well - all night and there isnt any frizz in sight which is very odd for me on a night out I can tell you. And also using this doesnt mean than I have to wash my hair more often at all - it flattens my hair a bit and makes it shinier without making it feel weighed down or making it become greasy quicker so it doesnt everything I need without any bad effects to my hair in my opinion and for all those reasons - and the funky bottle of course I would highly recommend this. I dont think this is my favourite TIGI product but its one Id buy again.

I first tried this when I was at my friends house getting ready for a night out. I have naturally curly hair and so when I straighten it, it can tend to frizz easily, especially on a night out if it gets hot. So she told me to use this bed head product, it will control my frizz and make my hair shiny.
The bottle is a noticeably bright pink, like most of the tigi hair products I've noticed the packaging is always a bright colour. The bottle states it is smoothing cream for silky, shiny, healthy looking hair.
I squeezed a small blob onto my hand and rubbed it in a bit before applying to my dry hair. Instantly I noticed a nice subtle shine to my hair, I couldn't tell straight away whether it was going to be able to control any frizz or flyaway hair, but I instantly liked it for the shine it added to my hair and how smoothe it felt. I am usually cautious when trying new products on my hair, especially if I was just about to go out, incase it ended up looking greasy! But gladly, this did not do that. Only a small blob was required for my hair and mine is medium length and quite thick. Anymore than this and it might have looked greasy.
Another thing that is also noticeable straight away when using the product is the smell. It is lovely and described on the Tigi website as 'fruit medly.' The smell stays on your hair for quite a few hours too.
At the end of the night I noticed my hair was still calm, I had no flyaway or frizzy bits, as I usually would by now, so I put it down to the Tigi bead head after party.
The next day I went online and bought myself a bottle. As I knew Tigi products can be expensive, especially if bought from hairdressers and their official website, I looked around and bought it for just under £9 from Amazon. I can't remember the exact amount i paid for it as it was last year sometime, but it is now priced at £8.55 on Amazon with £1.94 delivery for 100ml, the same size bottle I have. This is cheap and it is priced at £15.15 on Asos, which is how much you should expect to pay for this if buying from a hairdressers, maybe even more!
I now use this on my hair when I am going somewhere nice or for a night out. I also sometimes apply it to my wet hair then blow dry it as usual and I can notice it is shinier and smoother than it would normally be. So it may be worth trying this on both wet and dry hair to see which result you prefer.
If you have ever had problems with frizzy, fly away or just plain fuzzy hair, you will know exactly how annoying it is and like me you have tried multiple products, shampoos and conditioners that claim to combat the problem.
Well TIGI have a product that I have found actually helps with the problem. This product is Bed Head After Party Smoothing Cream. After Party comes in a pink plastic tube, which has a round, bubble style lid and looks quite cool. The pink is more of a hot pink, and it looks quite nice in my bedroom with my other hair products. The writing on the tube is in black, and is in the same cool font as the other products from TIGI Bed Head.
I didn't expect much from this product to be honest, as I had never found a product that could actually control flyaways properly. I was given this to try by my Mum, and I am glad she gave this to me, as it really is amazing at what it does. To use this, all you have to do is a dispense a small amount, about the size of a 10p and rub this between your palms. Then gently dispense over dry, clean hair ensuring not to put the product on the roots. I find it is best to put this on your hair from the mid lengths down towards the ends.
The first thing you may notice about this product is the wonderful scent. It is a really fresh scent, that you would find fits in easily in a professional hair salon. It is slightly floral, and has a nice touch of glamour to it. This scent lasts really well in the hair too. I found that the results of After Party are amazing, my hair looks perfectly smooth and silky from this instant I applied the cream to my hair. I was also pleased to see that the results were not just a quick fix, but my hair looked perfectly smooth and silky all day!
I can happily recommend this product to anyone who suffers with fly away or frizzy hair, even if only once in a while. It really does work and will help to mask the problem and keep your hair looking awesome all day and night, whilst making it smell wonderful. You can buy this product in salons, but this is the expensive way to buy it. I buy mine online, for around £7 - £8 a tube, depending on who has stock at the time. In salons this can cost up to £20! It is always best to have a look online first. I find that a tube of this usually lasts me around 3 - 4 months, and I use it every 2 - 3 days.
I give After Party a 5 out of 5, as it does exactly what you need it to do, whilst smelling amazing at the same time.
I recieved this item as part of a gift set with the Dumb Blonde shampoo and reconstructor. For those of you who have not read those reviews I recommend that you purchase this product from ebay as it tends to be a lot cheaper than the prices you pay in the salon.
This product has the same smell as the dumb blonde products. I would describe it as a mixture of mango and pineapple. When you dispense the product you notice it has a glittery effect to it. You need to rub it in the palms of your hands then smooth down the length of your hair. It immediately smoothes down flyaways which I have a lot of due to overstraightening and dying my hair. It also adds a nice shine to the length of your hair.
I have noticed that you only need a small amount perhaps the size of a pea, otherwise you can end up with greasy roots. As with all bed head products a little goes a long way. A good tip my hairdresser gave me is to put it on before straightening your hair as it enhances the shine.
This is a great styling product a tube seems to last forever (a year in my case), so in relation to the cost your definately getting your monies worth.
I am a blonde with fine hair, but lots of it! I was asked to give this product a go after recomendation by my hairdresser, I love the Tigi fresh and modern branding in all of their products, and after party doesn't disappoint.
After towel drying my hair I applied the smallest 5p piece of after party from roots to tips and then blow dried my hair. But After Party left my hair feeling heavy and a little greasy, I tried the smoothing cream again once my hair was blow dried and straightened just to see if it made a difference, again with the smallest amount, but the product again seem to sit on my hair rather than smooth it out.
Now I know we can't always recreate the hairdressers techniques at home, but even following the manufacturers instructions with this product, it didn't work for me. The product made my roots and hair feel heavy and the tips a little static, so I wasn't over the moon with the price that I paid for it.
I would recommend that if you do want to try this product, maybe run it by your hairdresser to see if its worth the purchase before you invest, as mine, I'm afraid ended up in the bin. I love all Tigi products but this wasn't right for me, believe me I now own another of Tigi's smoothing hair products instead.
My advice, see how and ask your hairdresser would apply and use this product, but for heavy weight fine hair I would steer clear of this one.
