Not impressed. Smelt okay nice snd fresh. Lathers up great but as i was drying my hair, it felt as though i hadnt completly rinsed out my shampoo even though i had. It left my hair feeling as though i had got wax products in it and if i tried to style my hair it would just stay up with no products or hair aids. Very disappoined had to re wash my hair with my usual asda coconut shampoo
Schwarzkopf Gliss Asia Straight Shampoo ~~The Purchase~~ I purchased this 250 ml bottle of shampoo on impulse. I think I paid about £1.99 for it in Boots chemist. I normally take a lot of time over my choice of shampoo including making sure I like the scent. Unfortunately, this day I was in a massive hurry and pretty much grabbed the bottle of the supermarket shelf and paid and went. The bottle is attractive with a clear plastic squared off top that allows you to see the contents clearly and how much you have left when using it (in my case A LOT). It is a striking violet colour and the promises on the outside make it sound like a dream product, as it says that this will make your hair glossy and straight. Its strapline is Hair Repair with liquid keratin, for rebellious and frizzy hair using this would give long-lasting straightening effect with shine. Allegedly, without straightening irons either. Yay! happy days that should save some time. However, on to the testing of it... ~~Using It ~~ I went to shampoo as normal and the first thing that struck me as I poured some of the contents out on to my hand was the overwhelming aroma. It was so powerful and not in a good way. It smelt synthetic and a strong chemical smell (supposed to be bamboo and orchid essence) with an awful fake perfume smell as a top note. I can only assume that is the chemicals they include in it of 'liquid hair repair technology'.. Err it clawed at the back of my throat as I washed my hair in the shower. I persevered though as it was the only shampoo I had to use at that point. However, the initial smell alone put me off. ~~Results~~ Now for the results of the straightening effect, well if you can believe it, after my hair dried off it was curlier than ever! As a comparison even when I use normal shampoo, my hair does not come out that curly, I would laugh but it really was a waste of money. Although I had decided there and then that, I would use it again on the smell alone of the product. Why is that some of these makers of shampoo cannot that just produce shampoos that smell clean and fresh? Without all the excess fake perfumes and fruit smells? There just seems to be a multitude of them on the market now. I may have to go back to a more old-fashioned shampoo like vosene that will give a cleaner smell. ~~Conclusion~~ So in conclusion, will I be buying this again - a definite NO, this shampoo is a major thumbs down from me. *1 dooyoo star.
When it comes to shampoos and conditioners I usually pick up whatver deems to be a good deal, smells nice when I sniff it in store and is from a brand I am aware of so when I recently spotted this in my local Poundland store and noticing that it is for Rebellious, Frizzy hair (which mine is at the moment!) I bought it along with the matching conditioner. The Packaging: This comes in a large seee-through plastic bottle that has a light bronze and purple style flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and then on the front of it in black and white writing we are told that it is Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair With Liquid Kerating 'Bamboo & Orchid Essence Asia Straight Shampoo and that it offers 'Long-lasting straightening & shine' and that as I mentioned earlier it is meant to be used on Rebellious, Frizzy Hair. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a little bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are listed, the size is stated which is 250ml, we are told to use the product up from the time of opening it within 12 months and contact details for Schwarzkopf & Henkel (the manufacturer of the product) are clearly stated. This is a nice looking bottle, plain but elegant enough I think! The Shampoo Itself: Well the shampoo is a clear, good consitency gel. It isn't runny but not a stiff gel either and I find it easy enough to dispense out of the bottle and it comes out clear but with a hint of a lilac colour to it. What does impress me most about this shampoo is how little I need of it per application. Usually I'm rather heavy handed with shampoos and the likes but with this one a really small amount goes a really long way on my shoulder length hair and of course to use it you apply it to damp/wet hair and rinse it out thoroughly and can do it again before using conditioner if you so desire and me, well I always shampoo my hair through twice. The only thing I found a bit of a let down with this one is the scent. Don't get me wrong it it a nice and natural floral fragranced one, best suited to us ladies I think, well blended and light however I did think by it being called 'Asia Straight' that the scent would be warmer, more exotic....spicier but for me the scent of this is nothing unusual sadly however when I have used this the scent does linger cleanly on my hair for a good few hours to be fair to it. All in all though this is a pretty decent shampoo I am happy to report. It cleanses my hair, rinses out easily and leaves me with supple and soft hair, though not so soft I can't style it. It does seem to straighten my hair a little without any residue weighing it down but without styling my hair with other hair products and some very hot hair straighteners my hair isn't going to be poker straight however this is a good base to work from and does seems to tame down frizzies rather alot and define the wet curls I have when I have washed it so I can even wear my hair curly after using this and they look a lot less messy than usual! I can't say I'm overly impressed with this and I think thats mainly due to the scent of it but it does leaves me with clean looking and scented hair and with a nice sheen too and at a pound a bottle I think it is rather a bargain! Available in all good supermarkets, chemists and discount stores like Poundland! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One pound bargain ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I recently picked up a bottle of this shampoo in my local pound shop, alongside the matching conditioner. I remember using some Gliss products many years ago and being a bit indifferent to them, but I am always willing to give a brand another chance - especially when it is only going to cost me a quid! This shampoo comes in a nice looking purple bottle. I would say it looks a bit more expensive than it was, which is not a bad thing of course. The shampoo is designed to tame rebellious hair, giving long-lasting straightness and shine. It contains liquid keratin, as well as bamboo and orchid essence. ~~~~~~~~~~ Under control? ~~~~~~~~~~ As my hair is naturally curly and prone to frizz, I am always looking for hair care products to help tame it somewhat! Although I don't expect miracles - my hair is a bit of a lost cause to be honest - I do find that the look and condition of my hair is greatly influenced by the products I use. Usually anything that promises to help straighten my hair doesn't ... but I do like shampoos and conditioners that add extra moisture to my hair, which is much needed, and helps keep things under control. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Using the product ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This shampoo has a very thick gel-like texture and is a pale lilac colour to complement the purple bottle. It has a gorgeous floral fragrance, which is strong yet pleasant. It is one of those smells that fills the bathroom and is really lovely - it makes this shampoo really enjoyable to use. This thick shampoo lathers really nicely and I find I don't need much of it at all even though I have fairly long, thick hair. And it washes away very easily too, leaving behind the lovely fragrance. ~~~~~~~~ The results ~~~~~~~~ I always use a conditioner after I shampoo my hair, and every time I have used this shampoo I have also used the conditioner alongside it, but I have been really impressed with this shampoo. As soon as I wash the product out of my hair, I can tell it feels really soft and smooth. For me, it is usually the conditioners that help my hair, and the shampoo merely helps to keep it clean but this really does seem to give a nice moisture boost to my locks. Once my hair is dry, it is definitely smoother and less frizzy than when I use some other products, and I would say this is as much - if not more - due to the shampoo than the conditioner (which I will of course also be reviewing here). I can also still smell the shampoo on my hair, and as it is such a lovely fragrance this is an added bonus. ~~~~~~~~~~ In summary ... ~~~~~~~~~~ This is a really good quality product. It works really well for my hair and has a lovely fragrance too. For a pound I will definitely be making the purchase again. Highly recommended!
The bottle itself is an angular almost rectangular shape, and is transparent meaning you can see the rich purple colour of the shampoo inside. The writing is clear, and simple to read. The angles combined with the purple almost make the bottle appear jewel like, as though it's a gem. The shampoo is a royal purple, and has a runny gel like texture. You don't need a lot of it, as it lathers nicely in your hair. It smells fantastic - a slightly sweet, fresh smell - and you can still smell it when your hair is dry. Your hair is left definitely feeling clean. It really smooths your hair out - even more-so if you use the matching conditioner. Immediately after washing out you can feel your hair is more silky, and you can still smell its scent. I didn't find any particular change in the straightness of my hair - admittedly, my hair is straight anyway, so there would be no drastic effect. It's inexpensive, and can be found for under £2 easily. Considering it lasts a while, as it lathers up quite a lot, I'd consider it good value for money.
