A root booster that performs well and lasts

Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Boost

      Why Paul Mitchell?
All products are cruelty free. Makes my decision simple. Trusted Salon brand that is used on my hair and recommended by my stylist. It works.

      Why Extra Body Daily Boost?
I have lovely layered hair that has the capability of giving more body if the right product is used. I like my hair a good long length but do not like it flat to my crown. Layers give just enough lift at the crown to make the appearance of the hair thicker and lush. I needed a quality product that gave long lasting effects as I do not wash my hair daily - it becomes dry easily.

      Bought for a bargain!
I got two bottles for the price of one from my Salon! I was delighted as these are a lot more expensive than I would normally pay for hair care. You can source from other places for slightly less than the RRP online.

      Home to enjoy!
Already knowing that this product is just perfect for me I took my stash home and looked forward to experimenting. The first thing to note about the bottles is that they are the professional range that is used in the Salon. Quality bottle and contents. Application is via a directional spray. All information for use is found on the bottle along with a clear label to ensure you have the right product - there is an extensive range!

My method of using this that is very successful is - tip head upside down so that the hair is lifted from the roots. Direct the precise spray nozzle to the crown of the head and along the parting of the hair and spray. I only need approximately three pumps and that is sufficient - a fine mist is dispersed. This product is expensive at full price but it will last for ages! You only need small amounts.

I dry my hair with my head upside down for a while and then style as normal and finish off with the straightening irons. At no point to I do anything to flatten the roots at my crown - this is so that the lift is encouraged. This method of styling and the outcome lasts till my next wash and has an added texture to the hair. An bonus is that my root growth is not noticeable for another couple of weeks and I now only colour my hair every six to seven weeks or so which is great as my hair grows fast and roots were showing and needing colouring at three to four weeks! Result.

The product not only performs and lasts well - it also smells lovely. Not a nasty chemically smell and quite light. No product build up and flaky bits noted.

A big plus for me is that my scalp has not been irritated at all! I am so pleased about this as I love this product. My scalp can be very sensitive and has prevented me from using many hair products in the past.

The bottle that I have is 250ml. Plenty in here but the bottle feels light to handle. Rest assured it is full when purchased.

      Source the stuff!

Great website to visit. Easy navigation and a large range of products for all hair types and styles.

      Final thoughts
This root boosting spray is an expensive option but you are definitely getting what you pay for here. Quality product that performs extremely well. Cruelty free. Long lasting so you get your moneys worth. Smells great and doesn't leave nasty deposits on your scalp. No irritation for my sensitive head. Adds great volume at the roots naturally and a little bit of texture which helps to style the hair. The precise directional nozzle helps to apply the spray were you want it and you only need a bit - don't go wild with this one! An exceptional product by Paul Mitchell which I can highly recommend.
