Mrs B always buys a variety of shampoo and I tend to stick to whatever is cheapest at the time. I often use the 2 in 1 shampoo as i can't really tell the difference but if I run out of that I use whatever Mrs B has and this seems to very often be this smooth and sleek Pantene shampoo.
Sometimes I use this on it's own and other times I use conditioner. If I am honest I cannot notice a difference in my hair when I use it alone or when I use it with conditioner I am happy with the result in both cases.
The shampoo is really quite thick. Far thicker than the Palmolive shampoo that I often use. It is white and needs a good squeeze of the bottle to get it out.
A little goes a long way I don't need to use much. If my hair is very wet then it soon rubs in and it's fairly easy to rinse out. If I leave any in then my hair feels thick and heavy and sticky so it's important to rinse it out properly. I also use this on Little B's hair sometimes too and it makes her hair shine nicely.
The result in my hair is just nice clean hair. The result on Little B is very clean and shiny hair. It takes a lot of the volume out of it and that is what I think it should do if it's meant to make it smooth so that is good.
I cannot fault it. It's good at washing hair and it doesn't break the bank, it's usually around £2 but if we see it on offer we buy more. nothing to fall out about.
I purchase mine from my local Asda supermarket for around £2.80, however it can sometimes be found cheaper at Home bargains from time to time, or even at other supermarkets when there are offers on. The price is reasonable, and is the price that I have come to expect from most well known good quality branded shampoos.
The packaging is very simple and similar to other Pantene shampoo & conditioner bottles; it is made from plastic material and has a black flip open lid located at the top. The Pantene logo clearly visible on the front as long with the information stating what the product is.
The shampoo liquid has an nice thick texture, feeling nice and velvety to the touch. The most noticeable thing upon pouring the shampoo is the nice lovely fragrance, its personally hard to really describe the scent, all I can really say is that it's a gorgeous smell that is refreshing.
When massaging it into my hair and scalp it instantly lathers up into a nice thick foam, making it very easy to apply and spread along my hair. I also found that due the nice lathering effect, that I do not necessary need a large amount as a small reasonable amount seems to go a long way and reach all parts of my long hair.
I am personally not a huge fan of using conditioners and try not to use it that often, mainly due to it being time consuming using both shampoo and conditioner one after the other, and secondly I find that using conditioners can make my hair become greasy more quicker than when I do not use it. Thankfully using this shampoo means I do not have to worry about using any conditioners as it not only cleans my hair but also leaves my hair nice and soft and frizz free.
My hair was very easy to untangle and style the way I wanted, and it also smelt nice and fresh. It had a nice glimmer to it too that I was happy to notice. The other advantage of using this shampoo was that it also had long lasting effects on my hair, for example if I missed washing my hair for a day, my hair did not seem at all greasy or dirty. However I am still a bit of a clean freak, so tend to wash my hair everyday.
I conclude that this is a great shampoo that I would happily recommend to my friends and all review readers. It smells nice, has a nice foaming effect and makes my hair manageable and soft as well as clean. It is basically like having a shampoo and conditioner in one bottle for the price of one.
For daily shampoos and conditioners I don't really have a specific favourite. I have brands I like but I am willing to try any out that are on offer at the time when I go to buy them. I do read them first to see what sort of hair they are for as they are for me and two children to use.
Pantene is something that I have been buying on and off for years. They have a big selection now of different types of shampoo and conditioner for any hair types but my favourite one is the smooth and sleek which I always buy when I see it on offer somewhere.
I do find that Pantene smooth and sleek shampoo is quite expensive but as I like the conditioner and also the serum and hair spray I buy them when on a three for two which does make them more economical and you do get a large bottle for the money so although expensive it is ok once in a while.
The shampoo costs £4.50 but this is for a 500ml bottle. It is especially good if your hair is frizzy as this and the rest of the range help to make sure that frizz is kept to a minimum. My hair tends to get dry easily and this is a good shampoo to use in between hair treatments to stop it from getting really dry. Also in summer my hair goes frizzy with the humidity and this helps keep it under control.
You can tell the shampoo is good quality as it is nice and thick and it lathers up really nicely and I don't need a lot to get a good lather going on my hair. It works really well at cleaning my hair and also not irritating my scalp. It makes sure that all hair spray and build up of product is removed from my hair and leaves it looking shiny and clean feeling.
This doesn't weigh my hair down and leaves it feeling lightweight and manageable. I can defiantly see a reduction in frizz when I use this and the conditioner and my hair looks much sleeker and less dry and full of slit ends.
This is a really good shampoo that might be a little bit more expensive than I would normally pay for a daily shampoo but I do feel it is worth paying the extra for as it works great and leaves my hair feeling light and smooth.
Patene pro V is a well known brand and is one that I used to trust a lot. Recently, however, I have moved on to different brands after realising that my hair began to feel quite heavy after using this product.
=== Smooth hair ===
I used this smooth and sleek shampoo a lot, when I turned fifteen it seemed that the less volume your hair had the better! Everyone was looking for ways to flatten their hair and straightening and smoothing hair seemed to be the fashion. I remember seeing this in the supermarket and deciding it would help to give me the limp hair I was after and so bought it and used it for many years!
Now I think fashion has gone full circle and people want lots of volume now so maybe this shampoo isn't quite as popular as it used t obe although it does get rid of that frizz that you can get so it does still serve a purpose.
=== The bottle ===
It comes in a bottle which is not at all beautiful to look at but for the price (sometimes you can pick it up for as little as £1) what can you expect really? You aren't going to get something stunning for that price! It is a plain cream bottle that you can't see through and has a green and white label on it. It's not at all fancy but nothing about this is really. The lid is black and flips up easily enough. You can have it standing upside down or the right way, either way it will balance fine so this is useful. There is a conditioner to match and the shape of that bottle is slightly different.
=== Using it ===
The shampoo is quite thick and is white in colour. It smells like shampoo! It's nothing fancy at all, some shampoos that I have tried since are so much nicer when they're flavoured with flowers and fruits and things but this is just a standard shampoo smell which isn't at all offensive but nothing interesting either! I found that if my hair wasn't completely wet through then it would be hard to make this shampoo lather up properly and it would need a good few minutes being massaged in to cover all of my hair.
I would leave this in my hair a few minutes before washing it out. I'm not sure why, maybe I hope that it does something special to my hair in that time! Washing it out is easy enough despite it being quite a heavy shampoo it does come out without a lot of fuss.
=== Result ===
The result of using this shampoo you hoped would be smooth and sleek hair and in a way that is what you get but it's nothing really special. My hair did have a nice shine to it and it was quite sleek but it also felt quite heavy too and I only really noticed this when I tried a different shampoo a few months ago whilst at a friend's house and I realised that her shampoo made my hair feel all light and fly away. Don't get me wrong it doesn't make my hair really heavy and lead like at all but it's not as light as I know it can be.
I did used to think that was a really good shampoo but now i'm wondering if my hair has become used to it so needed a change or if it always was quite heavy and I just never really noticed.
I think that it is an okay shampoo, it's very reasonable price wise and it does make your hair nice and fresh but it's certainly nothing outstanding or special really. It does make it smooth and I do like how it makes my hair quite shiny but I think it can only really have 4 stars as there is room for improvement.
I long to have sleek and smooth hair so whenever I see I product on the market which is meant to give you this, I like to give it a try.
I have seen this available in two different sizes, 250ml (priced at around £2.49) and 500ml priced at around £4.49. The 500ml bottles tend to be on offer of either 2 for £4 or more recently, 2 for £5 so I tend to stock up on these when the offers are on. It is available from most supermarkets and places such as Boots and Superdrug.
The 500ml bottle stands around 8 inches tall and is white with a black flip to lid. One feature which I really like about the bottle is that you can stand it on the lid so when I am coming to the end of the bottle, it is still easy to dispense and I don't have to stand there shaking and squeezing the bottle.
The consistency of the shampoo is really nice and thick and is white in colour. The shampoo lathers up really nicely and I don't have to use too much to give my hair a nice clean. The fragrance is quite fresh and a little fruity which I can smell as soon as I start to massage into my hair. What I love is that a few hours after I have had a shower, the fragrance is still present when I walk into the bathroom.
The shampoo does a great job at cleaning my hair, I always use the conditioner from the same brand and after using, my hair feels lovely and soft and does have a little shine to it too however with regards to the smoothing properties, I find that my hair is no different, I would still couldn't let it dry naturally and the slightest bit of humidity, and my hair starts to frizz and curl again.
Overall, although my hair does feel soft when I use, it doesn't make it any sleeker than normal, nor does it help combat frizz. I would recommend as a shampoo, but I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a product to make you hair sleek so I would give 3 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
I usually use salon-branded shampoos and conditioners on my hair but, whenever I go away or am stopping somewhere overnight, I need to pack a smaller shampoo than my salon-sized bottles. Therefore, for that purpose I usually have a bottle of Pantene Smooth and Sleek shampoo in the house. It is also good to have in for those months where I can't stretch to a more expensive bottle of shampoo.
A 500ml bottle of this shampoo can be purchased for around £4 - so not the cheapest option but still affordable none-the-less. The shampoo comes in a white squeezy plastic bottle with green product labelling. The green is the colour of the smooth and sleek range so you can easily identify products in that range from others in the pantene range when on the shelf. The smooth and sleek range contains 'micro smoothers which work with your hair to silken each hair strand and lock out humidity to help keep frizz from forming, leaving your hair silky smooth'.
The shampoo itself is quite thick and creamy, with a pearly white/cream colour. It smells of soap rather than of a distinguishable scent - I prefer fruity shampoos but this is quite a pleasant scent and it does smell clean and fresh. The scent also lasts on your hair too, leaving it smelling clean and 'just washed' too. The shampoo lather up well on wet hair and I find that a sizeable dollop (just larger than the size of a 10 pence piece) suitably washes my hair which is quite long and rather thick. It lathers quickly and creates a lot of suds but it is still easy to rinse from the hair. It is best used with the conditioner in the range too as it does leave hair dry if you just use the shampoo.
The shampoo is meant to fight roughness and control frizz, leaving hair silky smooth. It also helps lock out humidity and leaves your hair manageable. As far as these claims go, I have found that frizz is controlled somewhat and my hair is definitely tamed, even after one use. It doesn't eliminate frizz completely but it does have a positive effect on the appearance of my hair. My hair does feel more manageable and I am able to straighten and style it a little more quickly too.
I think that if I used this shampoo regularly, my hair may become a little dry as I do find it tends to strip the moisture from my hair a little. It is a decent shampoo though and I would recommend giving it a go if you have frizzy or flyaway hair. As with most products, I have found that it doesn't quite live up to the bold claims made but it is pretty good none-the-less.
Shampoo is not a product to which I am a loyal customer of any particular brand. I tend to mix and match, try different things, often buying shampoos that promise to rid my scalp of dryness and dandruff. So far as none of them worked and Pantene's smooth and sleek shampoo was on sale, I decided to pop it in my shopping trolley.
The shampoo is contained in a plastic bottle, with a flip-top lid, easy to squeeze out the shampoo. The consistency of the shampoo is a mixture of being thick and liquidy, certainly thick enough to work up a lather with only a small amount. The shampoo is white and slightly shiny in colour.
As with most shampoos, there is no special way of using this one, wet hair, take a small amount of shampoo in palm, massage into scalp and hair, lather, rinse and repeat. Repeating is not necessary, as I find that it cleans hair quite well in one go, but nonetheless as I only wash my hair once or twice a week, it is nice to repeat. I do find that just using this shampoo, without conditioner, does make my hair a bit knotty whilst washing and drying hair, so I do prefer the smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner combination.
The results of using this shampoo are good. Once my hair is dry, it usually is quite soft and shiny, and remains shiny and smooth for two to three days before it starts fading, and becoming greasy. One of the things I like about this shampoo is that it makes my hair look healthy and feel moisturised, whereas other shampoos I have used have dried up my hair. I know this shampoo does not claim to rid scalp of dandruff, and it does not, but it does dry my scalp up, so again the conditioner and shampoo combination helps with moisturising the scalp a bit, and making it feel less dry. The smell of the shampoo is practically the same as Pantene classic shampoo, it smells sweet and professional as though you have just been to the hairdresser's. The smell can be strong, particularly when the wind is blowing through your hair, but not overpowering. This Pantene fragrance lasts about two days.
This shampoo can be bought in a number of different stores, including supermarkets, and in different sizes. I bought mine at £2 in Wilkinson. This is a shampoo that I would recommend, but in the shampoo and conditioner combination, as hair is not as knotty when using the combination, and the conditioner helps with moisturising.
As my hair is both curly and quite prone to dryness I usually suffer from lots of frizziness and so seem to spend my life not only trying to tame my curls but also attempting to smooth my hair as well in the hopes of leaving it looking sleek, defined and stylish. Pah! This usually only happens just after I step out of the salon door! Over the years I've tried many many shampoos and have no loyalty to a specific one, I just tend to buy either whatever's on offer when I'm shopping for some or one that catches my eye.
Pantene is a brand I recognise and somewhat trust so I had no qualms about trying this smooth and sleek version of their shampoo when I saw it on offer in Tesco for only £2.50 for the 500ml bottle. As it usually retails around the £4.50 mark for a bottle this size I thought it was quite a good deal. This shampoo is widely available in supermarkets and chemists but can often be found on some kind offer somewhere or other so it is worth shopping around or stocking up when you see a deal.
One thing I don't really like about the Pantene range is that their packaging is all very similar so it is easy to get mixed up with what you're buying...whether it be that you pick up the shampoo for curly hair when you wanted the smooth and sleek one or whether you pick up a conditioner instead of a shampoo. It is very easily done with this range...believe me!
The bottle itself stands about 8 inches high and is an opaque white with black and green accent colours. The product is dispensed through a flip top black lid which stands at the top of the bottle. This may sound obvious but i usually prefer my shampoos to stand on their lid so that it is easier to get the last dregs out. It's not so much of a problem with this particular bottle, however, as the lid is flat anyway so it is easy to stand it upside down when you're getting to the bottom of it.
The front of the bottle just simply gives the brand name, the product name and claims you'll have "beautifull smooth hair throughout the day". It doesn't tell us whether it's meant for use on dry or normal or greasy hair, but as it's aimed at reducing frizz it's a pretty safe bet that it's meant for dry hair. On the back we are given rather a long list of chemically sounding ingredients, contact details for the company, the fact that Pantene is supported bu the Institute of Trichologists - whoever they may be! - and instrustions for use (like most shampoos; lather, rinse, repeat if needed). They also, obviously, recommend that you use the smooth and sleek conditioner and the smooth and sleek comb-in cream for best results! This would be slightly less annoying if I'd ever actually seen the comb-in cream in a shop, as it is probably something I would try, but I've never come across it yet!
The shampoo is much like any other shampoo in use and comes out of the bottle easily. In fact, the hole in the lid is quite large so often the shampoo actually comes out too easily and I end up with too much sitting in the palm of my hand. I have very long, thick hair so I use a lot of shampoo anyway - much more than the usual 10p sized blob - so for there to be even too much for me to use is saying something.
The product itself is quite a thick and creamy product and is an almost pearlescent cream/white colour. As it's so thick there's never any worry of it slipping out of my hand or off of my hair before I have chance to massage it in. It also smells rather nice too, quite a floral smell but with fresh undertones. I find it quite a pleasant smell and it would in no way put me off using it. I can't say whether it lingers on your hair for very long or not as I always use at least conditioner on my hair afterwards and usually a leav-in conditioner and some other kind of product too so they all tend to blend together.
The smooth and sleek shampoo lathers up really well which makes it really easy to spread it evenly through my hair and massage into it and it also reassures me that it is doing a good job of cleaning my hair too. It creates lots of nice smooth bubbles as you're rubbing it in which all rinse out easily. Obviously because I have a lot of hair it takes me a while to rinse the shampoo completely out of my hair but that's not unique to this one and happens with them all.
I tend to alternate this shampoo with my TGel as I can be prone to scalp psoriasis so I probably use this shampoo twice a week on average and so far the bottle has lasted me a couple of months and feels like there's about a third of it left, so in terms of how much use you get out of it versus the price I think it performs well. Obviously people with shorter or finer hair won't use as much but will probably wash their hair more than I do so it would probably last them just as long.
So does this shampoo work in its claims of leaving my hair beautifully smooth throughout the day? Well, unfortunately not. I know I don't use the conditioner and comb-in cream as suggested but still I have been disappointed in the lack of effect this shampoo has on my hair. On the few occasions I've only used the shampoo and a conditioner on my hair it has always ended up looking just as bad as before I washed it with a halo of frizz atop my head and big clumps of hair rather than sleek and defined curls.
As far as the cleansing abilities of this shampoo go I have no problems with it. It does leave my hair looking and feeling clean and so in that respect I would buy it again as it is very rare that I don't use another product after the hair washing regime to tame my curls and smooth the frizz away anyway. But if I were looking for a hardcore frizz taming shampoo I would be looking for something else I'm afraid.
Overall, as a shampoo for cleaning hair I'm more than satisfied with this and would buy it again if I saw it on offer, but it has pretty much no effect on smoothing or sleekening my hair. The packaging is non-offensive but can be quite confusing and the shampoo itself smells nice, is easy to use, lathers well and rinses out easily. So all in all I will give this shampoo four stars.
I love Pantene Smooth & Sleek!!! I've been using this on and off for many many years now and it's one of my faves.
Pantene shampoos and conditioners to match are widely available in your local supermarkets like Sainsburys, Tesco and Co-op and in pharmacy's like Boots and Superdrug. They come in two sizes 250ml £2.87 and 500ml £4.49 and currently Buy One Get One Free in Tesco. I generally pop online and check to see who has it on offer because usually one of the stores I shop at will have some sort of offer on it.
Pantene is a product from Procter & Gamble who sponsored the London 2012 Olypmics and this is advertised on all recent bottles. The packaging is very simple and nothing fancy, just a plain white bottle with black flip top lid. The packaging has changed slightly now from the picture shown.
Pantene Smooth & Sleek promises to fight roughness and control frizz leaving your hair beautifully silky smooth. It also claims to lock out humidity and leave your hair manageable. Micro-smoothers work with your hair to silken each hair strand and lock out humidity to help keep frizz from forming, leaving your hair silky smooth.
It's very easy to use, you just apply it like you would any other shampoo. Flip the lid, pour out your desired amount and later into your hair. I like to massage it into my scalp and then right through my hair to the very ends. The shampoo is white and creamy and feels luxurious, it lathers up really really well and smells lovely and fresh. I can't really describe what the smell is, it's not floral but it smells lovely. After I've given my hair a good scrub with this I then just rinse it out with warm water. Pantene do say it's best to use the matching conditioner with this which I do agree helps give a better result.
My hair is very long, not curly but wavy. When I used this shampoo I find my hair is less wavy and more straight, I have less frizzy flyway bits when it's dry and my hair feels really silky to the touch. I could leave the house without running my straighteners over it and be happy and confident my hair looks good. If I have time I'll quickly run a straightener through my hair just to finish it off. I dodn't need to pay as much attention to straightening when I've used this shampoo though because my hair is already nice and smooth and a lot less wavy.
I love this shampoo and at one point used it for years and it was the only shampoo I'd buy. However I did notice the effects less with prolonged use. Maybe it was because I was so used to it I didn't notice the difference I don't know. I recall one time at work my hair was up and my ponytail fell over my shoulder, I brushed it back and I couldn't believe how soft and silky it felt!!! It was literally like silk to the touch!!! But after using it for years non stop every day I didn't notice that so much. Now I use a few other brands and switch around a bit then come back to this after a little time away from it. I recently tried it again and loved the smoothness of my hair afterwards.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone with wavy flyaway hair that needs a bit of brightening up.
I always think that Pantene Shampoos are a bit overpriced but my dear other half seems to really like them and consequently we always have some Pantene shampoo or another in our house. When she leaves the shower, I tend to go in after her and use whatever she has been using. One of the shampoos she's been using at the moment is the Smooth and Sleek Shampoo. I was wondering why she had chosen to buy this though as I would have though it might have made her greasy hair worse as she has to wash her hair every day. I have rather frizzy hair though so I thought this might work well on me.
We have the 250ml sized plastic bottle of this Pantene shampoo and it cost us £2.09. They also come in the larger bottle seizes but to be honest I don't think you make much of a saving buy buying the larger ones. This shampoo says it is suitable for dry hair (my wife's is greasy, hence my confusion at her choosing to buy this for herself). The smell of this shampoo is something I like tough because it is not too floral or feminine and I think it can be safely used by a bloke.
The consistency is the same as the other Pantene shampoos I have used - fairly thick and white and it glistens a bit in the palm of my hand. When I poured it out onto my hand I was rather entranced at the shiny glisteny sparkles to this shampoo - it looked to me like it contained lots of little sparkling lights, it was odd. Or maybe it was just my eyes playing tricks on me?
The shampoo lathers up really well and you don't need to use much of it at all. It rinses off well but then I found my hair felt rather flat afterwards. I used it on my facial beard too, of course, as I do with all shampoos. Whilst my beard felt and looked good and the cuticles lay flat, I found that my head hair looked quite flat and lacked volume in comparison.
Overall, I'd say that for the price I would have expected better things from this shampoo. It made my hair rather lack luster and it was a bit of a disappointment. Not one I'd personally recommend or be encouraging my wife to buy again.
A girl spends her entire life being continually dissappointed by the false promises of hair shampoo advertisements. After watching the beautiful girl on the advert swish her long, straight, shiny hair around the screen for 30 seconds, we are convinced this is going to be the one for us. The one that will finally tame our mane of frizzy, dull, boring looking hair. The next visit to the supermarket can't come quickly enough so that we can purchase the shampoo tht is finally going to change our lives forever!!! And then... It doesn't. Yes our hair is clean. But that is where the promises end. Our hair still isn't as swishy and shiny as the babe on the TV. Every hair wash is followed by disappointment that we have to wait until the bottle is empty until we can try a different miracle product.
That was until.... I discovered Pantene's straight and sleek shampoo. My hair now looks like it does on the advert (well almost). It is clean, it is shiny, it is straighter and it smells lovely. My husband has even complimented me on how nice my hair is looking (so it must be good for him to have noticed!). The effects are also long lasting. With some shampoos, the first few times you use it you are impressed but as your hair gets used to the product, the effects wear off. This is not the case with Pantene. I have been using it for around a month now and I am still in love with it. I think for the first time ever, I will be repeat buying a shampoo, rather than buying what is on offer or what I am lured into buying from TV adverts. It is also good value for money. It isn't one of the most expensive shampoos on the market, however, it must surely be one of the best!
I am normally the buyer of all my own beauty products, however short of shampoo recently I asked my partner to pick up a bottle on his way home. Shampoo is something that I usually take quite seriously and have to admit to not normally buying Pantene, however when I saw it by the side of the bath I was keen to give it a try.
The packaging of this shampoo is rather simple and in keeping with the rest of the Pantene range. It is bottled in a pearlescent white upright container which is illustrated with a stripe of green across the front an indication that it fits within the Sleek and Smooth range. The bottle is topped with a black clip open top lid which makes the bottle easy to open with wet hands. Whilst the packaging is initially quite plain I have to admit that it suits both a male and a female market and is therefore versatile in that fact.
The text across the bottle indicates that this shampoo is for normal to thick hair and that it will give hair a 'beautiful smoothness' whilst locking out humidity and controlling frizz. Whilst I do have coloured hair I consider that it is of medium thickness and as I do straighten my hair quite a bit I consider the smooth hair claim quite a useful quality as I often get frizz in damp weather.
The shampoo itself is white in colour and of quite a thick consistency which lathers up easily on wet hair. The shampoo smells deeply clean and fresh and leaves hair with a lovely soft smell that lasts for at least a day. This smell is typical of all the Pantene shampoos and is again not suited to a particular audience.
-----Price and Availability-----
Whilst I did not buy this shampoo I understand that it was bought in Wilkinsons at £1.99 for a 250ml bottle. For more devoted users a 500ml bottle can be purchased from Boots costing £4.69. Whilst this is not the cheapest of shampoos it is certainly not expensive and is in my opinion a good price for this product.
To use simply pour a dollop of shampoo onto the hair, lather and rinse out. Pantene recommend that it is followed with the Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner for optimum results.
After the initial use of Pantene I rinsed then blow dried my hair to see how effective the shampoo had been. My hair was as expected very smooth and soft and this was reflected in the shine. My hair also had a good amount of bounce and therefore felt very clean and healthy.
Following the first wash I left my hair for a couple of days, as I prefer to do between washes. On the second day my hair still smelt clean however it had lost a lot of the initial bouncy feel and felt, dare I say it, a little greasy. I have therefore tended to use this shampoo daily or combined with a dry shampoo between washes for best effect.
I would therefore recommend this shampoo, particularly for people with very thick or dry hair as I do believe that it would help in taming it. For my medium hair it was a little heavy and I will therefore be scoring this shampoo 4 stars out of 5.
Thanks for reading my review!!
I have tried hundreds of shampoo & conditioners, from the very expensive ones to the very very cheap ones ( I'm talking 25p here. ) and the Pantene range is one I absolutely love, which is very affordable for anybody.
I usually get my Pantene shampoos and conditioners from Wilkinson's mainly because thats where they are on sale! So my usual price would be around £2.00, for around 250ml.
I would recommend going into somewhere like Wilkinson's first because you may end up paying more.
The bottles also come in different sizes so you should find something what suits you, so if you dont wash your hair that often it would be best to invest in a mini one, or if your going away on holiday and need one under 100ml or if your just wanting to try out invest in the 75ml one.
If your like me and love Pantene, invest in a 250ml one or even 500ml.
The main colour scheme for smooth and sleek is green! As you have probably seen for each type of shampoo and conditioner they have they have different colour schemes.
The bottle stands up straight and has a black flip top lid, you could also stand it on this if you like.
On the front is a sticker with the Pantene logo and the name of the collection which is wrote in front of a green sticker.
On the back is some useful information ingredients, contact ect..
Over all, I like the appearance! Simple but elegant.
Great experience I have had with this, my hair has been through so much..I have bleached it around 5/6 times, dyed it over 100 times and straighten and dry it every day so as you can tell its very damaged.
Most of Pantenes products promise you healthy looking hair in 10 days and this is one of them.
The shampoo is meant to help get rid of frizz and keep it at bay, it gives you irresistible soft smooth hair.
The liquid is rather thick and creamy and white in colour and has a lovely fragrance to it which I cant explain, I would say its kind of fruity and soapy if that makes sense and its just really refreshing and light.
The liquid lathers up lovely in your hair and even though its a shampoo and not a conditioner it really glides down through every strand of your hair and feels smooth ( just like it says! )
I can sometimes find shampoos clump in my hair and make it hard to move and also they can be a right pain to wash out, but the feeling of this on my hair is so different! Its feels so cleansing and after washing out ( which doesn't take long at all and no excess remains ) I can really feel a difference straight away, after every single use.
After using the conditioner ( I will write a review ) my hair always feels totally cared and looked after, it feels like it would just after you go to a hairdressers and they use the best products they can on it!
I always get complimented on my hair after using any Pantene product, it really does do miracles for my hair and the 10 day healthy hair challenge thing is no word of a lie, if I only had a pound for everytime someone told me my hair looked shiny and healthy!
It gets rid of 85% of the frizziness, styling my hair is 100x easier and it looks fabulous all day long, I honestly can not complain about it.
I always find myself coming back to this, infact I do sometimes wonder why I try out different ones when I have my perfect match for my hair right here.
My hair is pretty dry at the ends, and many shampoos that I've tried over the years don't moisturise the ends very well, leaving me with greasy roots and frizzy ends and mid-lengths. I thought I'd borrow my sister's Pantene shampoo, as I've heard both good and bad things, just in case it proved to be my saviour....
Pantene comes in small as well as massive bottles. The one I've used is pretty huge, and looks a little bulky sitting on the edge of the bath. However, this size bottle is better value than the smaller one, so I suppose that's just what you get when you want value! It has a flip-top lid as it pretty standard on shampoo bottles.
The shampoo itself is a neutral whiteish colour. It lathers up well with no strong smell really, I suppose it smells 'clean'. It's not a smell I particularly love, nor one I could imagine hating. The lather is quite creamy which is nice, and even I didn't need a huge amount, and I have long, very thick hair.
My hair was less tangled after just the shampoo than after some conditioners, and this is certainly a plus, but apart from that my hair wasn't noticeably softer or smoother, and it still required as much styling as always. It didn't look any shiner either, and I wouldn't say it was much more manageable. Obviously better than when shampooing with soap, but that's quite a flattering comparison for any shampoo. Even when I used the matching conditioner, my hair wasn't smoother or sleeker than usual.
This really is what sums up this shampoo: it's fine, but not exceptional. Overall it was something of a disappointment, although in the absence of something better I would use it again. It is also pretty inexpensive, so on a tight budget this might be a product to consider, although I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. A pretty poor 2/5, though I've rounded down from 5/10!
This is the only shampoo I use and I absolutely love it! I have naturally curly frizzy hair and this shampoo helps it to be a bit more tame and manageable.
You get alot of shampoo in the 500ml bottle. It only costs around £2.50 and it lasts me a good few weeks. I find this good value for shampoo and conditioner. The forumala is lightweight and a beautiful creamy white colour. It smells amazing and you can still smell it all day long.
When you apply the shampoo to your hair it goes really foamy and covers every single strand of your hair if you rub it in well. I love washing the shampoo out as I can see my hair go visablly shinner and straighter. It takes quite a while to wash all the shampoo out if you have long hair because it is really thick and foamy.
When I let my hair air dry it goes naturally curly but by using this shampoo the curls are more defined and not as poofy. However it doesn't make my hair straight.
My hair looks healthier too and split ends appear reduced. It seems like I have been using some kind of magic shampoo on my hair!
Overall I would really recommend this shampoo to anyone especially if you have naturally frizzy hair it will definetly make a difference. If you have dark hair you can see the shine and your hair looks very sleek and clean.
