Chill Ed Lock, a hair styling gel brought to us from the CH Laboratories Ltd. After looking on E-Bay for some new hair gels for my new spikey hairstyle, I came across this product for a very low price. Combined with the look of the packaging, I couldn't resist buying a bowl of this. To my surprise, it soon became a favourite of mine.
---- Scent and Smell ----
The scent of this gel is excellent and I'm not excegerating when I say that. There were times when I just opened it up and took a smell of it, giving off a unique type of fruit smell. Very difficult to explain on but it could be due to the fact it has beeswax mixed in with a perfume fragrance according to the ingriedents list. Friends and co-workers would also compliment me on the smell, asking me what aftershave I was wearing and was very surprised to hear me say it was actually my hair gel!
---- Price ----
The general cost is around £2 - 3 and worth every penny. One container can easily last around a month and sometimes more depending on how many times a week a customer uses hair gel. There are even sellers on E-Bay selling a box of 24 tubs for around £20, which I've been very tempted to purchase!
As I've never seen this in a high street shop, I'm quite unsure how much it will be. Plenty of these are sold on E-Bay by many sellers, so not completely rare.
---- Power and Effect ----
Despite the liquid not feeling very thick on the hands, it can still fold your hair into my forms of styles. Its brought out the best in my spikes and don't even need to use that much at all each day.
Sadly, the holding effect won't last the entire day. Definitely half of the day, but not all. The user will need to damp it down again to bring out the effect and that goes for most hair gel products these days. However for something like a night out, this product will be quite essential for lasting just a few hours. Even if it does wear off, a quick stop in the bathroom can resolve this.
---- Packaging and Advertising ----
Based on the tagline for this product: "Ohhh...who's your daddy!", it seems to be aimed at teenagers up to twenty year olds. The packaging on the tub is very colourful to the human eye and instantly got my attention. According to the holdometer included on the packing, its summed up to last 95% of the time. Which isn't false marketing to me, as it does last the majority of the day. The back reads: "For that barely legal ultra hold fix, use on dry hair and watch in awe as the daddy of styling power takes contol.". Due to me having thick hair, using hair gel on my dry hair never works and I always have to combine it with water.
A lot of the liquid can also be found and used from the liquid. Every user will need to be careful of this when unscrewing it open to avoid any mess.
Fairly small tub that won't take up much room on your shelf or any other place in which you may store it.
---- Recommendations ----
For constant hair gel users, don't hesistate on buying a tub of this product. Its very unknown on the market and thats the problem, it deserves a little more recognition.
